“Turkish military tanks crossed the border into Syria today (Wednesday). Fighter aircraft of the US-led coalition supported the Turkish forces as they entered the area in what has been defined by a military official in the country as an operation to cleanse the city of Jarabulus of ISIS.”

Turkey, US-led coalition launch large-scale border offensive against ISIS

On the ground: Operation ‘Euphrates Shield’ kicks into high gear

“Turkey’s army backed by international coalition air strikes on Wednesday launched an operation involving fighter jets and tanks to drive Islamic State jihadists out of a key Syrian border town.

The air and ground operation, the most ambitious launched by Turkey in the Syria conflict, is aimed at clearing jihadists from the town of Jarabulus, which lies directly opposite the Turkish town of Karkamis, the prime minister’s office said.”

Turkish tanks roll into Syria to confront Islamic State

“In its report, the Anadolu Agency, which cited unnamed military officals, did not say how many tanks entered Syria. The private NTV television said as many as 20 tanks had crossed into Syria and that clashes were taking place at the border. Earlier in the day, NTV said that a small number of Turkish special forces had crossed into Syria as part of the operation.”

This is a big deal but not all that surprising. Early reports are that the operation is fairly limited in scope, focusing on the town of Jarabulus. They appear to have US approval so maybe relations between the two are not as bad as first thought. Good updates here

Assad Bombs the Kurds: Implications for U.S. Strategy in Syria

source

“The latest fighting came on the heels of Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to Moscow to mend ties with Russia. Although the Kremlin’s views about the regime attacks on the PYD are not clear, Turkey’s positions are. Erdogan recently recalibrated his Syria policy: preventing a contiguous PYD-held zone has now taken priority over his erstwhile goal of ousting the Assad regime. In fact, PYD officials argue that Syria and Turkey have decided to collude in order to weaken the group. On August 21, the PYD issued a statement claiming that the attacks “point to Turkish and Iranian coordination with the Baath regime to counter the crystallization of the [Kurdish] democratic project.”

State Dept Warns: Iran Seeking to Capture U.S. Citizens

“The latest travel advisory, which emphasizes Iran’s desire to capture U.S. citizens, comes on the heels of a growing scandal over the Obama administration’s decision to pay Iran $400 million in cash on the same day that it freed several U.S. hostages.”

Yeah, so paying off terrorist governments for hostages is not the greatest of ideas.

Bible Prophecy

The Drumbeat Warning of Divine Judgment on the USA

“There are different kinds of judgments. Judgment can be eschatological and very visible, as the coming prophecies and past histories show us. Judgment can be invisible, secret, and deadly, as God said in Hosea 5:12, I am like a moth to Ephraim, like rot to the people of Judah. Judgment can be an abandonment, as when God simply releases a nation to itself to pursue its sin. (Romans 1:24).”

Hamas accuses Israel of seeking to change balance

“The overnight strikes of the Israeli Air Force in retaliation for the rocket fired at Sderot from the Strip were unusual in their scale; Hamas has replied by holding Israel ‘responsible for the escalation in the Gaza Strip.”

Senior IDF official explains the Syrian war on our northern border

“As the Syrian Civil War continues to garner worldwide attention and newspaper headlines, we in the IDF joined a senior official for an exclusive tour of our northern border. Here’s what we learned about the situation in the Syrian Golan and how it affects us.”

Does Israel recognize its own sovereignty on the Golan?

“Ministry of Finance reports presented to US include a map that does not appear to reflect the Israeli law that applied sovereignty in 1981.”

Israel: Hezbollah behind explosives found near Lebanon border

“Defense official says 3 charges discovered by farmer in Metulla last month were to be used in attacks against IDF, civilians.”

2 years after Operation Protective Edge: Is Hamas on the verge of collapse?

“30 years after its establishment, Hamas is facing many simultaneous crises: the disconnect from the Arab world, the tense relations with Fatah, 40 thousand officials who don’t receive salaries and a majority of Gaza residents who are dependent on humanitarian aid all cast a shadow on the organization’s future.”

Outer Ring (countries or terror groups that are close to but not bordering Israel)

The Sderot rocket – tied to covert Israel-ISIS war

“However, say our military experts, mechanical strikes against Hamas in reprisal for ISIS-linked attacks have long been bankrupt as an effective tactic. Even though Hamas works hand in glove with the Islamic State in Sinai, Egypt and Libya, the Palestinian group has no role in ISIS decisions to attack Israel or any influence over its considerations. The global Islamists may therefore be expected to follow up on their rocket attack on Sderot undeterred by the IDF response.”

With 50 raids in 2 hours, has Liberman begun to implement his new security plan?

“In first major display of force under new defense chief, IDF conducts largest bombardment since 2014 war in response to rocket strike; that doesn’t mean a new war is imminent, however.”

Analysis: Turkey’s potentially momentous shift on Assad

“CAIRO (AP) — For five years fighting has raged in Syria — a humanitarian disaster destabilizing the region and the world. The aim of Bashar Assad’s opponents’ always was to drive the Syrian leader from power, but they have lacked the means to dislodge him. Now an inflection point may be at hand, with powerful opposition backer Turkey suggesting Assad, despite his brutality in the war, could play a role in an unspecified transition period.”

Turkey: Assad can be part of transition period in Syria

“Turkish PM says both US, Russia know Syrian leader isn’t unifier; over 300 civilians said killed in Aleppo in recent weeks.”

Kremlin Presses Turkey for Access to NATO’s Incirlik Air Base, Home to US Nukes

“Russian officials have reached out to Ankara to request access to the American-built base as a convenient launch pad for airstrikes in the Syrian theater, but it remains to be seen whether such cooperation will roil NATO’s feathers.”

Major shift going on in Turkey towards Russia and away from the US. Has Obama lost Turkey?

Iran says Russian use of air base for Syria strikes over ‘for now’

“DUBAI (Reuters) – Russia has stopped using an Iranian air base for strikes in Syria, Iran’s foreign ministry announced on Monday, bringing an abrupt halt to an unprecedented deployment that was criticized both by the White House and some Iranian lawmakers.”

Hezbollah’s shadow war

“It should come as no surprise that Hezbollah is operating a terrorist network in Israel and the Palestinian territories. Despite the strong mutual deterrence along Israel’s border with Lebanon, and despite Hezbollah’s deep involvement in the Syrian quagmire, the Shiite terrorist organization has not for one second abandoned its jihadist ideology or its efforts to harm Israel in a variety of ways and arenas.”

US moves nuclear weapons from Turkey to Romania

“EXCLUSIVE/ Two independent sources told EurActiv.com that the US has started transferring nuclear weapons stationed in Turkey to Romania, against the background of worsening relations between Washington and Ankara.”

This is somewhat of a victory for Putin or was it?  If they were indeed moved to Romania that puts them closer to the Ukraine. Something I don’t think Putin wanted. However, the US may have lost Turkey as an ally.

U.S. scrambles jets to protect its advisers in Syria

“Fighters sent to protect U.S. advisers working with Kurdish forces after Syrian regime jets bombed the area.”

“This is very unusual, we have not seen the regime take this type of action against YPG before,” Davis said, using the initials of the U.S.-supported Kurdish militia fighting the Islamic State (ISIS) group in northern Syria.”

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) is fighting the Kurds near Hasaka for some reason. If they don’t control it things could get very interesting very fast.

Russian Warships Launch Cruise Missiles on Targets in Syria

“Russian warships of the Black Sea Fleet conducted three launches of the Kalibr cruise missiles on al-Nusra Front targets in Syria, the Russian Defense Ministry said Friday.
The strikes destroyed an al-Nusra command center and a base Dar-Taaza, as well as a major plant producing mortar ammunition and a large arms depot in the Aleppo province, the ministry said.”

The launching is not news but I am curious about the flight path. Since Russia and Turkey are so buddy buddy now I wonder if the missiles went over Turkey which would be different from the past when Turkey did not allow such over flight. Last November Russia launched them from the Caspian Sea.

UPDATE: AP now says they were launched from the Mediterranean Sea.

Bible Prophecy

The Great Psalm 83 Debate: Thomas Ice and Bill Salus

“Many Bible prophecy experts like Hal Lindsey, Dr. David Reagan and Chuck Missler believe that Psalm 83 is an important prophecy for our time. Others, like Dr. Thomas Ice and Dr. Mark Hitchcock believe the Psalm is primarily a prayer of lament and not necessarily a prophecy.

You are invited to watch a televised debate between Dr. Thomas Ice and Bill Salus that is presented by Christ in Prophecy TV concerning Psalm 83.

Dr. Ice believes that it is “utter speculation” to consider Psalm 83 as a Bible prophecy. Bill Salus provides Scriptural proof that the author of the Psalm was a prophet. Moreover, Salus explains how the details of the Psalm apply to an impending Bible prophecy.

Dr. David Reagan, the host of the program, concludes the show by agreeing with Bill Salus that Psalm 83 is a legitimate prophecy to be watching for. Both Salus and Reagan believe that Psalm 83 could precede the Gog of Magog invasion described in Ezekiel 38 and 39.”

Does Psalm 83 Set the Stage for Ezekiel 38?

“The psalm was authored by Asaph, approximately 3000 years ago, at a time in Israel’s history when King David reigned, the Israelites were preparing to build their first temple, and the nation as a whole was divinely blessed and empowered. We are told in 2 Chronicles 29:30 that Asaph was a seer, chozeh in the Hebrew, meaning he was a prophet in the vein of Isaiah, Jeremiah and Ezekiel.”

The Great White Throne Judgment

“Q. A the end of the Millennium, who will be resurrected? Will they all be judged at the Great White Throne? Will we witness this? that is, will we see the resurrected before the Throne? Will they all be sent to Hell? Some have said we will be aware of their punishment; that we will be taken to see the damned and witness their condition. In Eternity, will we, can we, be aware of the damned?

A. At the end of the Millennium the unsaved dead from all ages will be resurrected to face judgment at the Great White Throne (Rev. 20:11-15). I tend to think the Church will not witness this judgment. If it’s true that the rapture brings a new life of everlasting joy, how could we be made to witness the judgment of unbelievers, some of whom we’ll know?

The dead will be judged according to their works, but since the only work God requires of man is that we believe in the one He sent (John 6:28-29), I assume this will be the standard for judgment.

In John 15:5 and 1 Cor. 3:12-15 we’re told that work we do apart from the Lord is of no value, no matter the outcome, so I don’t think unbelievers will be judged on the “quality” of their lives. Those whose names aren’t found in the Book of Life will go into the Lake of Fire.

Isaiah 66:24 says the people of Earth will be able to look upon the dead in their torment during the Millennium , but I don’t believe this passage deals with eternity.”

Angry Over Pre-Trib

“Q. Thank you for your site. It brings me great comfort. In these time I find I get the most anger not from the unsaved but more from Christians. They say the Pre-Trib Rapture is everything from an 1800’s fairy tale to the devils work and worse. Of course they are of post or no rapture beliefs themselves. I guess the question is why are they so angry at the pre trib rapture?

A. As a general rule, the more confident people are in their position the less likely they are to become emotional when challenged to defend it. And the opposite is also true. The less confident they are the more likely they are to become emotional. Whether it’s the rapture, eternal security, or whatever, most people believe what they believe solely because that’s what they’ve been taught. They’ve never really confirmed it with their own research, so they can’t defend their beliefs in a rational way. As a result, they often get emotional when challenged and sometimes become angry with people who believe differently.”

Israel busts Palestinian terror nets run by Hizballah via Facebook

“Nine Palestinians have been rounded up in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip suspected of membership in a number of terror cells run from Lebanon by the pro-Iranian Hizballah. They were picked up after a joint investigation by the IDF, Shin Bet and Police. The Palestinians were recruited and received instructions and training from afar by means of encrypted Facebook messages posted by Hizballah. The detainees are accused of plotting shooting and suicide attacks against Israeli civilian targets and soldiers and fundraising for their operations. Under questioning, they revealed efforts to recruit Arab Israelis by means of social media too.”

“First missions from Iranian airfields target weapons and fuel depots, command posts, Moscow says.”

‘Pope Francis’ Claims Mary Was ‘Assumed Into Heaven Body and Soul’ on Feast of Assumption

“The Feast of the Assumption marks the Roman Catholic belief that Mary ascended into Heaven and did not suffer a physical death, although as the outlet American Catholic notes, “Scripture does not give an account of Mary’s assumption into heaven.”

Exalting Mary to the same level as Jesus is blasphemy. Catholics that believe this do not know the Bible. Read Proverbs 30:6:

“Do not add to His words, Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar.”

Catholics are making things up when it comes to Mary, they are adding to scripture. They pray to her instead of God. And once again, Pope Francis leads many astray.

U.S. Alarm: ‘Unprecedented demonic outpouring’

“Because of modern technology, the whole world sees these demonic displays, one after the other,” the pastor said. “We are under the prophesied demonic deluge. The problem is it is so in your face that few actually ‘see’ it. There is such a technological saturation of evil – from entertainment mediums to virtual fantasy porn – that a ‘normalcy bias’ kicks in to overdrive.”

And Gallups concluded ominously what modern Christians are witnessing is nothing new.

“It’s kind of like the days of Noah,” he said. “Everyone just ‘ate and drank’ even though their judgment was staring them in the face, just like Jesus warned. The Lion of prophecy is roaring. I wonder if anyone actually hears it?”

The title is misleading. It is not really about demonic activity but more about man’s rejection of God and the idol worship of a false God. People call it demonic giving the participants a free pass. Man, on his own, is every bit as capable of evil as a demon is. I do agree though that the more that God is rejected the more of God’s protection is removed and evil, man or demon, is allowed to flourish.

Satanist Allowed to Give Invocation at Government Assembly Meeting

“And on Tuesday, the invocation was led on behalf of the Satanic Temple by one Iris Fontana. Among her sentiments were, “Let us embrace the Luciferian impulse to eat of the tree of knowledge and dissipate our blissful and comforting delusions of old” and, “Let us stand firm against any and all arbitrary authority that threatens the personal sovereignty of all or one.” She concluded with, “It is done. Hail Satan.”

Reflective how far our society has fallen away from God. If people truly believed in God would such an event be allowed to take place? It is not about fairness to all religions its about rejecting God and allowing evil idol worship to take his place. Shame on all of us for allowing this to move forward in the world. God please forgive us!

Archeological finds, City of David bolster Jewish claim to J’lem

Analysis: IDF in race against time to modernize armored vehicles

“That’s because technological innovations are turning them into intelligence-gathering platforms that can reveal the exact location of hostile combatants all around them, keeping them lethal and relevant to 21st-century Middle Eastern warfare.”

Urgent Israeli Navy order for new US coastal craft

“The Mediterranean is fast filling up with bigger and more sophisticated warships than ever before, leaving the Israeli Navy lagging behind and short of the new kind of vessels needed to meet the changing challenges to its shores and marine assets, notably from seaborne terror.

Israel’s naval edge has melted down rapidly in the past year.
Egypt took delivery in June of the first of two advanced French Mistral-class helicopter carriers, the Gemal Abdel Nasser, with the second due in two months. Each carries 46 attack helicopters. And Russia has moved over to the Mediterranean its aircraft carrier, as well as a fleet of cruisers and nuclear surface and submarine vessels.”

Analysis: The truth about Hezbollah

“Since that war several top Hezbollah commanders were assassinated, including ”defense minister” Imad Mughniyeh and his successor and brother-in-law Mustafa Badreddine, in operations attributed to the Mossad. This shows how Israeli intelligence managed to deeply penetrated the Lebanese Shi’ite group.

Hezbollah is a much weaker organization while Israel is much stronger. This is also due to the bloody civil war in Syria in which at least 1,600 Hezbollah fighters were killed and another 6,000 wounded. Not a small matter for an army – conscripts and reservists combined – of 45,000.”

Running away from peace

Hamas: Vote for Us or Burn in Hell

“The first sign of Hamas’s frightening platform emerged when one of its top muftis, Yunis Al-Astal, issued a fatwa banning Palestinians from voting for any other party other than Hamas. “Any person, male or female, who votes for a party other than Hamas will be considered an infidel and apostate and his or her repentance will not be accepted even if they fasted or prayed or performed the hajj [pilgrimage] to Mecca,” the mufti ruled.”

Balfour notes

“Despite the weight of their history and its primary place in the Jewish national consciousness, the Jews have never allowed their tragic and tumultuous past to impede the development of their future. Nowhere is this more evident than in the crystallisation of the Jewish yearning to return and self-govern, into a coherent national liberation movement rooted in decolonisation and indigenous rights, which restored the Jews to their ancestral lands and saw the rebirth of a Jewish homeland.”

Iran admits at least 400 Shiite proxy fighters killed in Syria

“The head of Iran’s Martyr Foundation, Mohammad Ali Shahidi, admitted Saturday that at least 400 people were killed fighting in the pro-Iranian Shiite militias fighting for Bashar Assad in Syria as Tehran’s proxies. Their families would receive financial support. Announcing the number, the Revolutionary Guards said around half of them were Afghan. DEBKAfile: This was the first time any Iranian official has attached a figure to casualties for the pro-Iranian militias from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq fighting in Syria under the command of IRGC officers. However, according to DEBKAfile, the real death toll is much higher than the official figure.”

Bible Prophecy

‘We’re not embarrassed to say it: We want to rebuild the Temple’

“The event, organized by the Women in Green organization, has been held every year since 1994, and both memorializes the destruction of the two Temples in Jerusalem and calls for the restoration of full Jewish sovereignty across the Land of Israel.”

Why I want the Temple

“The first two Temples were destroyed because we failed miserably. G-d gave us two chances and we blew it. He won’t do that again. The third Temple will be the final Temple and it will be everlasting. It must be built on the firmest of foundations with the strongest morals and principles behind it. It will not be built catering to one faction or the other. It will not be a place of tension and feuding. It must be a place where not only can all Jews freely flock but all nations of the world as well. We will ALL bring our own unique voices to declare the Name of G-d as One.”

Reading the whole article it sort of sounds like the author is a proponent of interfaithism.

UN Employee Caught Aiding Hamas

UN Employee Suspected of Directing Humanitarian Aid to Hamas

“Earlier today, Waheed Borsh, a United Nations Development Program (UNDP) official, was indicted in a civilian court in southern Israel for using his position to provide assistance to Hamas’ terror activities in Gaza. He’s admitted to helping Hamas use humanitarian aid funding to build a dock for its naval forces in 2015 and confiscate weapons at building sites marked for demolition. Borsh was arrested in July 2016 in a joint operation by the Shin Bet security service and the Israel Police.”

This is why I oppose all funding to the UN.

Hamas terror tunnel collapses in Gaza, seven reported injured

“A terror tunnel being dug by the military wing of the Hamas in the Shejaiya district of Gaza City collapsed on Tuesday night. An announcement by the Gazan health ministry said seven people were taken to a hospital as a result of the accident. “

Surprising these tunnels are not built up to code given all the millions being siphoned off from world aide groups.

Israel thwarts smuggling of rocket fuel material, commando knives into Gaza

“Israeli customs inspectors at the Kerem Shalom border crossing on Tuesday foiled efforts to smuggle graphite bars, used for the production of rocket fuel, and commando knives into Gaza. The bars were headed to a facility of Gaza’s electric utility while the knives were hidden in a shipment of tools. The inspectors made the discoveries after receiving a tipoff from the Shin Bet domestic security service.”

Hezbollah reveals: Drone capable of bombing target with great precision

“Last night (Tuesday), Hezbollah released rare footage of one of the organization’s drones operating over Aleppo, Syria. Ever since the terrorist organization became involved in Syria’s civil war, Hezbollah has been using drones in order to surveil areas and attack targets. However, this is the first time that the terrorist organization has showed that it possesses aircrafts capable of carrying bombs and dropping them on targets with great accuracy. This development indicates that Hezbollah has expanded its military arsenal by acquiring technologically-advanced weapons. The terrorist organization’s military expansion is linked to its involvement in Syria and the aid it receives from Iran.”

There is no doubt this has to be a concern since the IDF was unable to intercept a Russian UAV as it went several kilometers into Israeli territory just a couple weeks ago. The Russians are probably sharing UAV technology with Hezbollah.

Hezbollah releases photos of IDF troops on Israel’s northern border

“Although official Israeli spokesmen have claimed that the observation towers set up by Hizballah along Israel’s northern border are abandoned, new pictures show otherwise. The terrorist organization took pictures of IDF troops from the towers, located no more than dozens of meters away from the border fence, and posted them on social networks linked to the terrorist organization. The pictures show the troops carrying out maintenance and repair work on the fence. DEBKAfile reported in May that the towers may be equipped with advanced photography equipment capable of transmitting high-resolution live video images of the border area to Hizballah headquarters in Beirut. The new pictures show some of the troops insufficiently protected, some without helmets and others not wearing protective vests.”

Another worrying sign from the northern border. The IDF seems to be unconcerned about these watch towers. It was Hezbollah’s intention to prove these IDF soldiers would be easy prey to a sniper.

Obama administration plans to sell $1.15 billion worth of arms to Riyadh

“The Pentagon announced Tuesday that the State Department has approved a huge deal for the sale of US-made weapons and ammunition to the Saudi Arabian military. The proposed $1.15 billion sale includes 130 Abrams tanks, 20 armored recovery vehicles and other equipment. General Dynamics was chosen as the main contractor for the transaction.”

In the past, Israel would object to such an arms sale. Interesting that has not happened yet.

Israel razes three EU-funded Palestinian homes in West Bank

“Demolitions follow Brussels’ promise to continue funding shelters even in areas under full IDF control, despite Israeli objection.”

Imagine if another country came to your country ans said they were going to build homes despite not getting approval from your local government. This is yet another attempt to steal Israeli land. God has removed his protection from Belgium because of this policy.

Holy war: Government tries to control church sermons

“An Iowa church just wants to be free to preach the gospel, but the state’s so-called nondiscrimination requirements could block the house of worship from doing just that. Israel: Striving To Change The Past

source

“In the last week Israeli intelligence presented compelling evidence of corruption in the management of UN and Western aid efforts in Gaza. Western aid organization were already under growing pressure to do something about increasingly blatant corruption surrounding aid provided to Palestinians. This has become more urgent in Gaza because of the flood of aid (several billion dollars’ worth) to Gaza in the wake of the 50 Day War in Mid-2014. This aid was for repairing the war damage but that never seemed to happen and the usual “Israel is not allowing needed materials in” excuse was denounced by many Gazans as a lie. The aid never did what it was meant for because of corruption. It was so bad that many donors (Western and Arab) withheld promised reconstruction aid until the “diversion” problem could be solved. This time the Israelis provided lots of details which cannot be easily brushed aside.”

Russia, not Hezbollah, sent drone into Israel — report

“Three weeks after IDF failed to bring down UAV that crossed over from Syria, Moscow officials acknowledge it was theirs.”

I believe this was an intentional incursion. Israeli defense systems that failed to intercept the UAV were American systems so the Russians may have been attempting to test how the systems worked. Both American and Israeli defense experts should be concerned.

Palestinians: The “Country” Where Crime Is an Official Job

  • “[W]hoever was imprisoned for five years or more is entitled to a job in a PA [Palestinian Authority] institution. Thus, the PA gives priority in job placement to people who were involved in terrorist activity.” – Yigal Carmon, president of the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), in testimony to the US House Committee on Foreign Affairs, July 6, 2016.
  • In 2016, not less than $300 million (between 7% and 10% of the budget) was allocated to prisoners, their families, and to “martyrs’ families.”
  • In June, an independent report commissioned by the Britain’s Department for International Development concluded that by enabling the PA to pay salaries to terrorists, British aid to the PA had made anti-Israel terror “more likely.” DFID dismissed the report.
  • Palestinian society is totally built and organized on the basis of “resistance”. It is a society where jobs, fame and money go to people who are in, or who have spent years in, Israeli jails. There, legitimacy goes to people who are considered “martyrs.”

And this is why there is no peace. It has nothing to so with ‘settlements’.

‘If they see the facts, they won’t believe Palestinian lies’

“Ambassador to the UN Danon explains why Israel visit by 11 ambassadors is so important, claiming they will not be deceived easily anymore.”

It’s a worthy effort by Danon but the hatred and anti-antisemitism is too far ingrained. Palestinian propaganda is so effective because people want to believe the lies.

World Vision: ‘Huge gap’ in Israeli terror funding allegations

“To divert the funds, the Shin Bet said, Halabi initiated fictitious projects meant to help farmers, the disabled and fishermen. He would falsely list Hamas operatives as workers on those projects and write up inflated receipts, according to the Shin Bet. Companies hired to carry out certain projects under fictitious tenders were “made aware” that 60 percent of the project’s funds were destined for Hamas, the Shin Bet statement said, adding that some of World Vision’s budget was used to pay the salaries of Hamas operatives.

The Shin Bet also said Halabi would transfer to Hamas materials such as steel, digging equipment and pipes that were meant for World Vision agricultural assistance. Thousands of packages with food and medical aid received monthly would allegedly be diverted to Hamas operatives and their families rather than reach Gazan civilians.

Beyond arms purchases and tunnel digging, the funds also helped build military bases, including one constructed in 2015 built entirely from British aid money, according to the Shin Bet. The security agency also said that since his arrest, Halabi divulged intelligence about employees working for United Nations agencies and other aid groups who were also assisting Hamas, without elaborating.”

This is a huge scandal. World Vision seems to be having trouble explaining things. The ‘Gap’ argument is irrelevant because NO money should be given to the terrorist government Hamas.

Aerial photo reveals Hamas misuse of international donations to Gaza

“Donations from the United Kingdom made to the Christian aid organization World Vision were used by Hamas to build one of such 70 military bases that operate in Gaza. The allegations are part of the June 15, 2016 arrest of Mohammed El-Halabi, a senior World Vision worker facing charges of funneling $43 million in charity funds to Hamas.”

Many NGOs indirectly fund terror, experts warn

“The fact that millions of charity dollars going to Gaza were diverted to Hamas terror activities shows problems inherent in NGO operations.”

If you read the rest of the article it becomes apparent international NGOs cannot not be trusted with any donations. Until they agree oversight is needed I would think twice before giving them money. Better to give locally.

Ex-Shin Bet chief: World ‘hideously naive’ about widespread diversion of aid to fund Hamas

“Avi Dichter, head of Knesset Defense Committee, says misuse of charity moneys runs much wider than World Vision’s tens of millions, claims ‘almost 100%’ of UN refugee workers in Gaza are Hamas members.”

Remember when Hamas rockets were found in UN warehouses during the 2014 conflict? Now we know why and how they got there. NGOs and the UN should be ashamed of themselves.

Outer Ring (countries or terror groups that are close to but not bordering Israel)

Russia may be preparing a ‘long-term, game-changing move’ with Turkey

“But the stakes of reviving the relationship may now be significantly higher, as anti-American sentiment peaks within Turkey and Erdogan draws condemnation from the West for his decidedly undemocratic crackdown on those suspected of plotting or sympathizing with the coup.

Putin, too, has much to gain from strengthening his relationship with Erdogan at such a politically sensitive moment — specifically, the opportunity to undermine the unity of both the European Union and NATO and absorb Turkey into Russia’s sphere of influence. That may be why Russia was one of the first countries to issue an official condemnation of the coup on July 15 — a gesture that Turkey noticed and evidently appreciated.”

Syrian rebels make gains in Aleppo area and Manjib

“Rebel factions in Syria, including al-Qaeda affiliates, managed Saturday after weeks of fighting to break through government forces holding a route east of the northern town of Aleppo, but have not yet established a secure route to their comrades in the city through the government siege. In another sector, an alliance of Kurdish and Arab fighters seized parts of the key town of Manjib from the Islamic State, with the help of US arms, intelligence and logistics.”

Stupid headline. ISIS has made only modest gains in the Aleppo area and those may be short lived.

Rebel alliance launches battle to retake all of Aleppo

“A Syrian rebel alliance on Sunday announced the start of a battle to recapture the whole of Aleppo, the day after they broke a government siege on rebel-held areas in the country’s second city.”

Be wary of the media reports that ISIS is going to retake Aleppo. They were almost encircled by Assad forces there. They MAY have broken the encirclement but that does not mean they can capture the city. The battle is still very much going Assad’s way.

Bible Prophecy

The Law Of Redemption

“Q. I have been reading your series on a study of Revelation. In your commentary on chapter 5, you state “God’s law requires that a next of kin redeem that which a family member has lost.” Where in scripture is this stated as God’s law? I ask because what you have presented fills many gaps for me. I just want to be able to back that up with scripture since it is the foundation of the point you present.

A. The law of redemption is detailed primarily in Leviticus 25 and covers both the loss of property and the loss of freedom. Adam suffered both these losses when he sinned and from that time forward all of his progeny were held captive to sin by the one who had stolen their kingdom, awaiting the Kinsman Redeemer.

A Kinsman Redeemer had to meet several requirements. First, he had to be qualified. That means he had to be a next of kin or close relative. Next he had to be able, in other words have the means to pay the price. And third he had to be willing. Although it would be a public disgrace to do so, he could refuse.

In Jesus God became a man in order to qualify Himself to redeem us. He lived a sinless life because the coin of redemption was the blood of a sinless man. And he was willing to give His life for us because He loves us.

The idea that God could become a man and live a sinless life shouldn’t surprise us. He is God after all. But the fact that He would choose to sacrifice that perfect life just so we could escape the punishment due us when there’s nothing we can give in return should drive us to our knees in wonder.”

God’s plan is perfect. Jesus is the perfect redeemer.
