Articles of the Day 10/24/13
“The Armored Corps is set to add a reconnaissance company to each of its armored battalions as part of its adaptation to the modern battlefield, a senior military source revealed on Wednesday.”
This is a significant development. During the Psalm 83 campaign Israel will acquire a rather large amount of enemy territory. Adding additional reconnaissance company to an armored battalion means the IDF expects to be operating deep inside the land currently in possession of the enemy.
“Look at these guys approaching the border,” the commander said, nodding towards a few men walking in our direction. “They look like they’re on an innocent stroll, but nothing here is innocent.
Boy, reading this story just gave you the sense things could erupt at any second.
“I say all this because the next failure is already written on the pages of history, if the West does not wake up,” he warned.
I can really see why the residents might feel a sense of abandonment here.
“A senior IDF officer told reporters last week that the changes in the way communities are guarded follow an analysis conducted by the military, according to which troops are more effectively used when they are deployed along the border, carrying out reconnaissance and patrols, than when they are stationed in the individual communities.”
To me this is more of an indication of IDF concern about the rising terrorist threat along the borders. Gaza and Sinai are right on the front lines. There must be alot of intelligence indicating terrorist infiltration at the borders so a redeployment might make sense. More resources towards patrol and reconnaissance might be required near the borders instead of inside the communities. This is what terrorism does, it strings out your resources and makes the populace feel naked and vulnerable.
So if all these are fulfilled is it a safe bet that future prophecies will also be fulfilled?
These little skirmishes are not minor. They all lead up to something. They build up then there is a big flareup and eventual military confrontation. This is the nature of the relationship between Israel and the Palestinians including both the Hamas and the PA. Tension has been steadily rising in recent weeks.
“Bluntly, Mr. Obama’s partners are concluding that they cannot do business with him. They don’t trust him. Whether it’s the Saudis, the Syrian rebels, the French, the Iraqis, the unpivoted Asians or the congressional Republicans, they’ve all had their fill of coming up on the short end with so mercurial a U.S. president. And when that happens, the world’s important business doesn’t get done. It sits in a dangerous and volatile vacuum.”
It really is amazing to watch as the US alienates about every Middle East ally they ever had. Not sure of the strategy behind this, except perhaps that it is God’s will. Has he blinded the political leadership in the US to the obvious evil intentions of Iran?
How many people will fall for this?
