Ezekiel 38 and the Samson Option

What is the Samson Option? Basically if countries or non-state actors attack Israel there is a strategy in place where the massive retaliation with nuclear weapons may be used.

The story of Samson is in Judges 13-16. Things ended badly for him when he pushed apart the pillars of a Philistine temple, bringing down the roof and killing himself and thousands of Philistines who had captured him, gouged his eyes out, and gathered to see him further humiliated in chains. There are some interesting parallels between Israel of today and Samson.

Sampson was blessed by God with physical strength. Israel is blessed by God by a strong military.

Sampson had a weakness for women and was blind to their wickedness. Likewise, Israel is blind to the wickedness of the world and thinks they can compromise with the world and finally be accepted.

Sampson stands up to the Philistines and defends his own people. But then his own people ask him to turn himself in to the Philistines. The same is happening to Israel today. When Israel defends herself the world is critical of her. Now prodded by the world Israel is asked to turn herself in by giving away land which is rightfully hers.

Sampson dies while pulling apart the pillars in a Philistine temple where all the leaders of Philistine had gathered to watch Sampson die. He killed them all along with himself. Now if the Philistines represent the Ezekiel 38 enemies and Sampson represents Israel what do you think will happen in the middle east?
