Articles of the Day 1/28/14: Destroying Israel In Stages

Op-Ed: Confusing The World With the Facts on “Palestine”

“The Arabs invented a special national entity in the 1960s called the Palestinians, specifically for political gain. They brand Israelis as invaders and claim the geographic area called Palestine belongs exclusively to the Arabs.

The word Palestine is not even Arabic. It is a word coined by the Romans around 135 CE from the name of a seagoing Aegean people who settled on the coast of Canaan in antiquity – the Philistines. The name was chosen to replace Judea, as a sign that Jewish sovereignty had been eradicated following the Jewish revolts against Rome at that time.”

Terrific article based on facts and not on political correctness.

Shin Bet: Shalit swap prisoners return to terrorism

“The Shin Bet successfully thwarted 190 terror attacks in 2013, 40 of which were coordinated by terrorists freed under the Gilad Shalit prisoner swap, according to the security service’s annual terror report, released on Monday.”

Proof releasing terrorists is a bad idea.

“Five out of the six deadly attacks occurred in the West Bank, as part of an overall uptick in militancy in the area.”

Proof the PA has no real interest in peace.

Jordan Valley emerges as core issue in Mideast peace talks

“Don’t be fooled,” Maj. Gen. Gadi Shamni said. “We would lose a lot if we leave here. Intelligence, deterrence, rapid response. A lot of capabilities, seen and unseen…”

…This is the valley the Bible says Moses looked across to see, but never reach, his promised land. In the minds of a generation of Israeli military planners and hawks in the Israeli government today, the Jordan Valley is an indispensable line of defense against threats from militant groups operating in the wider Arab world…

…The valley is one of the most closely watched frontiers in the world, with some of the toughest border control anywhere. The Israelis erected early-warning towers atop the steep mountains and a “smart fence” bristling with cameras and radar. Israel controls not only the airspace here but also the electromagnetic space — the airwaves and cellular signals. They do not want to give this up.”

The one border area where Israel enjoys some relative calm is the one area the Palestinians must have of course. The PA has publicly stated that they want to destroy Israel in stages. Obtaining the Jordan Valley is one stage in that effort.

Ya’alon: Palestinians see destruction of Jews as realistic possibility

“This incitement is manifest in the education system and the media, where the hatred and poison ought to be an affront to any human,” he said. “It is creating another generation of Palestinian children who are taught to look at the expulsion and destruction of the Jews as a realistic possibility instead of educating them toward a culture of peace and co-existence alongside Israel.”

This is exactly why peace is so hard to achieve. The Palestinians believe their own propaganda.  Their hearts are hardened to the point they may be lost. Peace is not foremost in their minds. Israel’s destruction is. Contrast that to the Israeli people who truly desire peace. To the point where they are considering giving up so much land they are making their position indefensible. They have given up land much to their determent and the world cries that it is not enough. Their own leftist politicians claim all they have to do is give up a little more here and a little more there. This feeds into the PA strategy of destroying Israel in stages. The Obama Administration have to know this but they don’t care as long Kerry gets his peace agreement and sweet photo op moment for the next US election.

The Franchising of Al Qaeda

“What you are seeing in the Middle East is a problem of militancy combined with ungoverned territory,” said Ramzy Mardini, a fellow at the Atlantic Council. “That is the real problem, not which groups belong to Al Qaeda and how can we get rid of them.”

One of the questions I often ask myself is how is God using Al Qaeda? They are obviously extreme but they also make other groups or countries more extreme. They intimidate, raise fear, and seek to destroy innocent life. They also raise the Sunni-Shiite tensions and, unwittingly,  help Israel. Syria is a perfect example. Egypt and Jordan are the big questions. Can Al Qaeda influence or even take over one of these nations? Right now, Egypt and Jordan are keeping things from exploding in the Middle East. If one of these two countries were to fall to an Islamic Al Qaeda type of group there would be an immediate response from Israel which would lead to a complete outbreak of war across the Middle East. We came close when the Muslim Brotherhood briefly held power in Egypt. Fortunately, they were not in power long enough to have an impact. Egypt and Jordan…watch these two countries carefully.

Israelis urged to prepare for battlefields dominated by robots

“Israel’s military planners and high-tech defense industry must accelerate development of robotic and unmanned systems that will dominate the future battlefield, eliminating the need for large armies with fighter jets, tanks and warships, a study recommends.”

Transferring the War to the Enemy’s Computer

“It is a battlefield to all intents and purposes. The enemies are all the immediate suspects, but the thing is – even countries Israel has no direct conflict with, like Russia and China, possess impressive cyber capabilities, and they, too, are interested in prying into the intestines of the IDF. Instead of shells and missiles, the weapons used by the IDF cyber defenders are worms, viruses and silent Trojan Horses.”

Israel is leading in many of these areas.
