Articles of the day 1/29/14: Hizbullah. Penny for your thoughts?

When Will Israel Recognize Him?

Q. Re: Matt. 23:39, “For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.” Do you think it will be long after the Tribulation that Israel will finally acknowledge Jesus as their Messiah? Or do you think the tribulation will end when they fulfill Matthew 23:39? or Are both those possibilities inaccurate?

A. I think Zechariah 12:10 gives us the answer.

“And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.”

Putting this verse into the chronology of the end times according to Zechariah, I think Israel will nationally acknowledge Jesus as their Messiah shortly before the end of the Great Tribulation.

Full agreement with Jack here. Just look at the Temple Mount situation and you will see how blinded the Israelis are. God will make them see but only after much suffering here on earth.

Is Hizbullah about to Withdraw from Syria?

“The question of Hizbullah’s continued involvement in Syria will not be decided in Lebanon. The heads of the Revolutionary Guards in Tehran, who are aware of the organization’s intensifying plight, will have to ponder which is worse – the loss of Hizbullah’s power and influence in Lebanon or its removal from Syria, which at this stage would not influence Assad’s ability to continue slaughtering his opponents in the Syrian revolt. Above all, the Revolutionary Guards and Khamenei want to preserve Hizbullah’s power and status so that it can pursue its principal mission of anti-Israeli jihad. At the end of the day, Hizbullah’s entire raison d’être is to be Iran’s spearhead in its struggle against Israel.”

Their fully committed and, unlike Western countries, they are not fully accountable to their population. To abandon Assad now would not go over well and they might lose their chief supply line if they do.  They have spent blood and, unlike the Americans, they are not willing to waste it. They will stay and see it out with Assad till death if need be. They will be more careful which engagements they get involved in. Most of the battles they are in are near the border with Lebanon so they are staying close to home protecting the supply line.

170,000 rockets are aimed at Israel’s cities, says IDF intel head

“He listed four central challenges. The first, notably listed ahead of Iran’s nuclear program, are rockets, he said. Kochavi asserted that Israel faces 170,000 rockets and missiles, and that, “for the first time in many decades, the enemy has the ability to drop considerable amounts of munitions on the cities of Israel.” In the past the threat was countered by the IAF, he said; today it is Israel’s enemies’ primary weapon and it represents an enormous intelligence challenge to counter.”

They are also becoming more accurate and have a heavier payload.

Poll: Most Americans think Obama not doing enough to stop Iran

“The results of this latest, very detailed and highly representative survey of American opinion show gratifyingly high, indeed, overwhelming levels of support for positions Israel takes, as opposed to the position the Obama administration takes,” Klein said. “It also shows an understanding of the dangers Israel faces from a terror-sponsoring PA. Large majorities of Americans clearly understand that a Palestinian state, if established, will not live in peace with Israel and will simply be another Mideast terrorist state.”

I think this shows that Obama follows his own personal desires when it comes to Israel and ignores what the American people want.

Outrage on Temple Mount: Strip Searches and Arrests

“The incident began as dozens of Jews who went to the Temple Mount Tuesday morning were ordered by an officer to enter his office one by one, and were there ordered to undress to make sure they weren’t “smuggling” Jewish symbols onto the site. Those banned symbols included dried fruit on Tu B’ishvat.”

Obviously Jews would like to pray on their own land. Why Jews are preventing Jews from praying I don’t quite understand.

US and Israeli buffer zones under Syrian rebel control designed to contain al Qaeda advances

“The main thrust of this American plan is to create security zones for sealing those borders against both Bashar Assad’s army and the various Islamist militias including al Qaeda, by means of local anti-Islamist rebel groups provided with arms, funding and logistical aid allotted respectively by the US, Israeli and Jordan.Israel for instance will carry on proffering medical aid and evacuating injured Syrians from the south – its most conspicuous form of support.”

I would love to believe the Obama Administration has some sort of plan for Syria, and that the security of Israel is foremost in his thinking. But come on, has he given any indication that is the case in the past? No, quite the opposite in fact. It is possible Israel is considering something but given World outcry for Israel to give up land and Israeli government reluctance to take territory for security assurance I doubt it. This is a Debka report and likely wishful thinking.
