Articles of the Day 4/3/14: ‘Keep The Powder Dry’
“We are constantly on the alert. My soldiers and I act with one value in mind: We are all doctors and our purpose is to save lives. It makes no difference where we are or who is in front of us,” Cpt. Yamin said.”
I post these because no one else seems too. It is so fashionable to criticize Israel and ignore the truth.
“The latest survey of the beliefs and values among Israeli Jews, the first comprehensive study in more than a decade, reveals that 80% of Israeli Jews believe that God exists and some 70% of these Jews surveyed believed the Jews are the chosen people, a statement that can be found in the Bible. The authors of this study believe the demographic changes in Israel caused by the higher birthrates among the orthodox and the ultra-orthodox Jews has resulted in the uptick of Jewish attachment to Biblical truth with a majority of all Israeli Jews believing in the coming Jewish Messiah.”
“Despite U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry’s best efforts to bring Israel and the Palestinians together at the negotiating table and Israel’s support for continued peace talks, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has once again broken his word to Israel and the United States. In addition to rejecting the basic premise of “two states for two peoples,” and instead of meeting with the Secretary to move forward towards peace, Abbas chose to pursue unilateral recognition by signing onto 15 international conventions and treaties.
Revealed here for the first time in a TheTower.org special report: The Palestinians are in clear violation of at least 11 of the 15 treaties they just signed. What follows is a synopsis of the treaties signed and key facts on the ways in which Palestinian leaders are in violation of the their obligations.”
“MK Miri Regev (Likud-Beytenu) reacted sharply Thursday to the new demands Palestinian Authority (PA) head Mahmoud Abbas has placed before Israel as preconditions for prolonging the negotiations with the Jewish state. The demands include freedom for 1,200 terrorists now in Israeli jails, a PA capital in eastern Jerusalem and the lifting of the “siege” on Gaza.”
More impossible demands from Abbas.
“Jewish Home Chairman, Economics Minister Naftali Bennett, pithily rejected Thursday the Palestinian Authority (PA) demand that Israel give a commitment that the future Palestinian state would include eastern Jerusalem. “You wanted a commitment? Here it is: Eastern Jerusalem will never be your capital,” wrote Bennett on his Facebook page.”
“Arab snipers in Gaza shot at IDF civilian workers working near the security fence on Thursday. None were injured in the attack, although engineering equipment was damaged by the gunfire.”
“If you can’t convince them, bribe them? As the peace talks crumble due to unilateral Palestinian Authority (PA) moves Tuesday breaching the talk conditions, and the US admits it can’t save the situation, one committed leftist group has decided to step in – by directly bribing Israelis to support “peace.”
Peace at any price is not peace. It is submission. The Left have already surrendered, they are now, desperately, trying to convince everyone else to do so as well.
“Among those many thousands of sayings, or hadith, are accounts which refer to the confrontation of two huge Islamic armies in Syria, a great battle near Damascus, and intervention from the north and west of the country. The power of those prophecies for many fighters on the ground means that the three-year-old conflict is more deeply rooted – and far tougher to resolve – than a simple power struggle between President Bashar al-Assad and his rebel foes.”
“Israeli planes also said to have overflown Lebanese airspace in the south and as far north as Beirut”
“The IDF is rehearsing scenarios of mass rioting combined with guerrilla warfare, which it may encounter if and when it invades Lebanon and takes over villages there. The disclosure was made by IDF officers in a report featured on the IDF’s official website – and can safely be assumed to be an intentional warning to Lebanon and Hezbollah that the IDF is capable of a ground invasion of Israel’s northern neighbor.”
As MK Miri Regev said, ‘Keep the power dry.’
“Iranian cleric Mujtaba D’oh A-Nur does not believe the Iron Dome system will protect Israel when the time comes to enact it. The system will not affect Iran in any way – either defensively or offensively, he said.”
Get the sense the Iranians are a bit frustrated by Iron Dome? I suppose it doesn’t affect Iran directly but it does frustrate Iranian proxies.
“Israeli sources reported that “the meeting last night between Tzipi Livni, the minister responsible for negotiations with the Palestinian authority, and her Palestinian counterpart Erekat, was difficult.” According to different reports, Livni threatened the Palestinians with sanctions.”
You know talks are bad when even Livni threatens the Palestinians.
“American legislators have expressed disappointment with Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas’s latest gambit – applying for membership in United Nations organizations as the “state of Palestine.” Both Republican and Democratic leaders said that the U.S. should seriously consider cutting aid to the PA if Abbas continues with the process.”
This would be refreshing but given US credibility of late a very hallow threat.
“WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The White House on Thursday said a delay in a planned release of Palestinian prisoners by Israel creates challenges but that the Middle East peace dialogue remains open.”
The Obama administration continues to shift the blame on too Israel for the failure of the talks rather then hold the Palestinians accountable. They torpedoed these talks not the Israelis. You won’t here that from Obama though.
“The Israeli Air Force (IAF) is having to adapt its aerial intercept tactics to contend with a marked rise in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) incursions over recent years, a senior service official told IHS Jane’s on 2 April.”
