Articles of the Day 4/4/14 : In the Crosshairs
“Daniel 9:27 says that the Antichrist will confirm a treaty between Israel and her neighbors. I did not say he will sign a treaty, but instead confirm, strengthen, make stronger, make the treaty work. In order for this to happen, there must be a peace treaty or three peace treaties on the table not working. The Antichrist will confirm them. There are three peace treaties on the table not working, waiting for the Antichrist, a world leader, to appear.”
“Civilians in southern Israel were forced to begin this month with an unacceptable barrage of rockets,” IDF Spokesman Lt. Col. Peter Lerner, said, ”Hamas has a responsibility to cease and prevent acts of aggression emanating from the Gaza Strip. The IDF will retaliate, reciprocate and when required initiate the use of force in order to defend the civilians of the State of Israel from these unlawful terrorist actions”.
“BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) — Palestinian negotiators have posed seven conditions that must be met by Israel to continue negotiations beyond April 29.”
”They demanded independence, and we gave it to them. They demanded recognition of a Palestinian state, and we gave it to them. They demanded weapons and we gave them to them. They demanded Hevron, and we gave it to them. They demanded Gaza, and we gave it to them. They demanded terrorist releases, and we gave it to them, again and again,” Wortzman fired.
“In response: we received attacks, we received wounded and dead, we received damage to our economy,” he continued. “Now they’re coming back and demanding we withdraw to ’67 borders, with eastern Jerusalem as their capital.”
“After talks break down, officials draw up options, including withholding tax revenue and restricting access to parts of West Bank”
“According to Kol Yisrael radio, these measures include a suspension of high-level contacts between ministers and CEOs, and any contacts with the PA will now be led by the Coordinator of Government Activities in Judea and Samaria, Maj. Gen. Yoav Mordechai. It was also decided to freeze the implementation of 3G cellular technology in PA-assigned areas and stop the transfer into Gaza of communications equipment belonging to the PA cellular phone company Watania. Another punitive measure is a freeze on promotion master plans for new communities in Area C.”
“A hareidi IDF soldier and two Nahal Hareidi foundation rabbis were miraculously saved from an Arab terrorist shooting at them last Tuesday at Adam Junction, located north of Jerusalem in Samaria.”
“Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz (Likud Beytenu) on Thursday said that Israel should re-arrest all the terrorists it freed in three previous “gestures” to the Palestinian Authority (PA).”
“Many people say – ‘What does it matter? Do I need him to define me?’ Of course we don’t need him to define us,” Bennett explained. “He doesn’t define anything. But the meaning is that first he wants the state of Palestine in one pocket, and then he wants to signal that he is the lord and leader of the Arab citizens of Israel, and then begins the struggle for ‘little Israel’ inside the Green Line.”
Abbas has developed a way of getting what he wants, Bennett added. He says: “If you don’t give me things, I will stop talking to you; I will go to the UN.
“From here we say: go to the UN – I will buy you a plane ticket. But what will make things difficult for you at the UN is a personal lawsuit for war crimes.
“Abu Mazen finances terrorist activity from Gaza every month, with money from PA taxes,” Bennett charged. “He finances pensions for Palestinian murderers. He talks about going to the Hague [court]. A man who has terrorist butter on his head should not go out in 100-degree weather, because it will explode in his face.
“Right now we are working to create a package and a coalition of actions and organizations, so that if [Abbas’s UN] bid is not cancelled, on top of all of the sanctions, in the international field, too, the entire PA leadership will be in Israel’s international, legal and diplomatic crosshairs.”
“But the intensity of Riyadh’s reaction cannot be explained solely through the kingdom’s displeasure at Tehran’s diplomatic advances. In fact, the unprecedented opening between the US and Iran is arguably only the tip of the iceberg of Saudi Arabia’s growing list of concerns. Numerous geopolitical trends in the last decade have evolved in opposition to Saudi interests. Much indicates that it is the combination of these factors, rather than just Saudi displeasure with US-Iranian diplomacy, that best explain the erratic behavior of the House of Saud.”
“For as long as Jews and Christians have existed, there has been an obvious tension between both groups too often resulting in the ostracizing, force conversions, expulsions and deaths. Both sides have become very good at itemizing what divides them and dwelling on the differences. Over the years, finger pointing and blame shifting has almost become an art form in Judeo/Christian relations. To be perfectly honest, I regularly find myself on the forefront of a constant battle to defend Israel and the Jewish people, and I do my own share of finger pointing. Don’t get me wrong, I still believe that there is much to be learned about Christian anti-Semitism through the ages, and even today if we want to successfully defeat the beast. But I often wish that we could focus on what unites evangelicals and Jews more that what divides us.”
