Articles of the Day 4/24/14: Keep The Children Out Of It!
If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. (Romans 10:9-10)
This verse is the bottom line where salvation is concerned. In case you’ve never noticed, it’s always a matter of the heart with the Lord, and in this passage it’s clear that the central issue of salvation is a heart-felt belief in the Resurrection. Why is that? Because believing in the resurrection is how we’re justified. The Greek word for justified comes from a root meaning “to regard as innocent, faultless, guiltless.” So, if we confess (agree) that Jesus is our Lord and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead He’ll regard us as innocent of all charges and qualify us for eternal life.
“IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz gave interviews to Israel’s three main news programs on channels 1, 2, and 10 over the weekend, stating he was leading preparations for future combat in the Lebanese and Gazan arenas.”
“Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu announced Wednesday night, April 23, that Israel is breaking off peace talks with the Palestinians pending reassessment of the process after Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah signed a unity pact with Hamas in Gaza City. A special foreign affairs and defense cabinet meeting takes place Thursday to decide how to handle this change in the Palestinian status.”
This is actually a good thing since the peace talks were not really benefiting Israel anyway. At least Israel won’t be ceding anymore land for the near future. I doubt highly the US will cease recognition of the PA or withhold any money. The Obama administration is real good at making threats but not to good at following through. The real question is how far will Abbas go with this? If he loses money is he prepared to accept money from Iran? Is he prepared to launch rocket every other week like Hamas? If rockets do start coming from the West Bank then……..everything changes. We could be entering a new and more dangerous phase of this conflict. Could it be the Psalm 83 phase?
“Washington warned that Hamas-Fatah reconciliation will harm the peace negotiations. A senior level US official clarified that any Palestinian government that will be established must recognize Israel and he threatened sanctions.”
“Abbas has only one thing in mind: how to extract concessions from Israel and the US. If the new maneuver with Hamas does not work, he will have to think of something else he can pull from his sleeve.”
One has to wonder if Abbas has really thought this through. If the the US and Israel don’t cave (and that is a big IF) then what?
“The United States on Wednesday expressed support for Israel’s decision to cancel a planned session of peace talks with the Palestinian Authority, in the wake of an announced Hamas-Fatah reconciliation deal.”
The US and Israel are on the same page for once. How long will it last?
Watch: Muslims Mob Attacks Jewish Children on Temple Mount (Or don’t watch)
I got real problems with this video. Jewish parents put their children in harms way for a political protest. They exploited their trauma which is so wrong. I understand their desire to be able to pray at the Temple Mount and they should able too but using your own children this way crosses the line. Those children could have been injured severely by one angry rock throwing Arab. To say nothing about the psychological trauma. It is fine to find creative ways to protest but please keep the children out of it! It is not fair to them, they have no idea what is going on. It is bad enough the Arabs exploit their children in this conflict Jews should not do it too. I thought about posting this video but I am not going too because, quite simply, it is wrong. Check out the link if you want to and be your own judge.
“A unity deal between rival Palestinian factions is even worse than Ramallah’s threat to dismantle the Palestinian Authority, Finance Minister Yair Lapid said Wednesday, issuing a scathing attack on the Palestinian leadership and questioning whether it is even interested in a state.”
Wow, he is just now coming to that conclusion? This guy is really dense.
“Arab Islamists are planning a show of strength on Israel’s Independence Day (May 6) – but Zionist activists led by former MK Michael Ben-Ari will be there to make a stand for Jewish pride.”
“During a meeting in Ramallah with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Ensour also voiced the Kingdom’s keenness on furthering cooperation with Palestine in all fields.Abbas briefed Ensour on the latest political developments concerning the US-brokered Palestinian-Israeli peace negotiations. The Palestinian president also said that more openness with Arab and Islamic nations, mainly Jordan, is a priority for Palestinians in the next stage.”
So we are starting to see how Jordan will be sucked into a conflict with Israel.
“TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Different units of the Iranian Basij (volunteer) forces attended large-scale wargames, codenamed ‘Ela Beit ul-Muqaddas’ (Towards al-Quds), in capital Tehran on Thursday.”
al-Quds is the name Iranians use for Jerusalem. So the code name is really Towards Jerusalem. Yes I know, Iran also has a claim on the city as well.
