American negligence central to peace talks crisis, Israeli source says

“Conflicting American messages to Israel and the Palestinians surrounding the release of pre-Oslo Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails contributed to the crisis currently facing talks, an Israeli source knowledgeable about the negotiations said on Monday, a day before the talks were set to expire.”

Not too surprised by the incompetence by Kerry and the Obama administration but that is not the real reason for the failure of the talks. Only the Israelis really want peace. It takes two to tango.

Netanyahu Blocking New Construction, Say Judea & Samaria Mayors

“Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has instructed Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon to cancel an upcoming hearing to promote plans for building in Judea and Samaria, IDF Radio reports Tuesday.”

Why do this if there are no talks taking place? It is becoming more and more difficult to defend Netanyahu.
