Articles of the Day 7/9/14: It’s No Longer Just A Southern Problem
“Yesterday evening, terrorist organizations operating in Gaza launched a salvo of 45 rockets at major Israeli cities, reaching as far as Hadera, located 100 km from Gaza.”
“The long-range Hamas rockets that reached Hadera 110km north of Gaza Tuesday, July 8, have been identified as the Syrian-made M-302 Khaibar missile, that was used by Hizballah against Israel in the 2006 Lebanon war to pound Haifa. This weapon uses Iranian technology deriving from the Chinese WS-1 which has a 175 kilo warhead. Hizballah engineers posted in the Gaza Strip have since helped Hamas improve the M-302 and extend its range and accuracy. But still, even after improvements, the M-302’s main shortcoming is its lack of precision.”
“Fear trickles from the south to the Israeli heartland on Wednesday, as Hamas targets Israel’s most populated cities.”
It’s no longer just a southern problem. For the first time, many Israelis heard the siren. For the first time, many Israelis ran to a shelter. Many Israelis were scared for themselves and their families for the first time. Think about the psychological effects and political ramifications this will have on Israeli society for years to come. This will harden their hearts towards peace because they now believe it cannot be achieved. Many though, will turn to God and their eyes will be opened.
“The IDF is currently engaged in Operation Protective Edge against Hamas and other Palestinian terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip. Hamas places weapons and missile launchers in densely populated areas. They also send men, woman and children to act as human shields for terrorists.”
“A video has emerged showing hundreds of Arabs flooding the plaza of the Al Aqsa mosque on the Temple Mount to celebrate the sounding of air raid sirens in Jerusalem.”
Guess no one told them the rockets could actually land on them.
“A rocket salvo headed for Greater Tel Aviv from Gaza early Wednesday and Beit Dagan. Two were intercepted by Iron Dome. Hamas also fired ten rockets at locations in western Negev, as well of Ashkelon and Ashdod the morning after a peak 120 rockets Tuesday that brought half of Israel under attack. Iron Dome intercepted 30. The farthest point north was Hadera, a town between Tel Aviv and Haifa, but Tel Aviv and Jerusalem as well as towns like Rehovot and Kfar Saba were added Tuesday to the Hamas roster of southern Israel targets between Ashdod and Beersheba. All parts of the country have now opened air raid shelters ready for more surprises, like the rocket that reached Hadera, 110 km away from the Gaza Strip, now identified as Syrian-made M-302 Khaibar.”
“When you hear your first siren, time stops. Your stomach lurches, and your legs shake. Time stops, and the world keeps spinning. Your instinct is to drop whatever you’re doing, and run. Your mind doesn’t want to believe that it’s real, but your heart knows that it is.”
“Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s spokesman Mark Regev told foreign media Wednesday: “What we see is that over the last few years Hamas has built up in Gaza a very formidable terrorist military machine and we are now acting to dismantle that machine.” Asked about an IDF ground operation, he said: “It’s possible, we are ready for every contingency, the army has been instructed to prepare for that – if that is what politicians decide. Our strategic goal is ultimately defensive, to end the rocket fire on our cities.”
We will see. This will go as far as Israeli will may take them. God is using Hamas to push them but they are so stubborn.
“Analysis: Hamas and other Gaza terror organizations have learned from previous operations how to get past Iron Dome and how to escape the IDF’s watchful eye.”
“Israel’s Defense Minister held an assessment with senior level IDF and Shin Bet officials, where he stressed: “This campaign is not short and we must continue to be patient.” Ya’alon emphasized: “We are destroying weapons, terrorist networks, and terrorists in various command positions.”
“I attended church while in Gaza, and I was surprised to find a Hamas headquarters located directly across the street from the church, again in an area of Gaza City where I was told you wouldn’t necessarily expect to find Hamas supporters. I soon learned that the church has sustained damage during bombing one night.
When I worked in a school there, it was well known that Hamas occupied the high rise overlooking our school field. We could often see people staring down on us. The school kids would often stop and shout up at the people, telling them off, telling them to stop watching us. It was obvious to me that if that building ever became a target to bomb, the school would again sustain heavy damage. In fact, it did in the last large military action. Hamas is everywhere.
There seems to be no separation at all between terrorist and civilian areas, which is disgusting because they know there are civilians who don’t support them and yet they pop up everywhere.”
It is a war crime to purposely use human shields. Everyone knows Hamas does this but no one holds Hamas accountable. Especially ‘human rights’ groups. Muslim groups, like Hamas, pick a fight with Israel and when Israel defends itself the world condemns Israel. Or they often condemn both at the same time confusing and equating Hamas provoking action with Israeli defensive action. The two are not morally the same. Those who do equate them are morally bankrupt and without God. God sees all of this, he knows what is going on. He is not fooled, though man frequently is.
“Israel thwarted an attempted infiltration from the sea and blew up a terror tunnel, but it knows Gaza Islamists are desperately pursuing other murderous options.”
Almost seems like the IDF were expecting them.
“In a separate incident, a joint IDF-Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) operation struck a vehicle containing a commander of Hamas’s naval commando unit, Muhammad Sa’aban, aged 24, on Tuesday.”
Got the commander of Hamas’s navel commando unit. Likely payback for the failed sea infiltration. Israel has some seriously good intel.
“For those who have forgotten, here’s a video from 2004 that highlights the debate over Israel’s expulsion of Gaza’s Jews and abandonment of the territory. Who was right and who was wrong?”
Is God punishing Israel for withdrawing from Gaza? I think many Israelis are right now asking themselves that very question.
“Fatah has several hundred militiamen in the Gaza Strip, some of whom are members of the Palestinian Authority security forces, who continue to receive their salaries from Western governments.
At least two Fatah armed groups announced that they had started firing rockets at the “settlements” of Ashkelon and Sderot, cities inside the pre-1967 borders of Israel, with another Fatah group claiming responsibility for firing 35 rockets into Israel since Sunday.
So far as Abbas is concerned, “it all started when Israel fired back” in response to hundred of rockets fired at Israel from the Gaza Strip during the last few days. He seems concerned that if the world hears about the role of Fatah in the rocket attacks, the news will affect Western financial aid to the Palestinian Authority, which dominated by Fatah.”
See how twisted their thinking is. ‘It all started when Israel fired back‘, like how dare Israel defend itself. This is the mindset of the world, that Israel should not fire back. According to the world, Israel should just let the rockets fall and let a holocaust take place. It’s ok if all the Jews die because then the world will be at peace. This is all scapegoating and blame the victim mentality used by evil for generations. This is what God meant when he said he would judge the world. The world has judged Israel so now God will judge the world.
“Katz calls to ‘crush the snake’s head’; MK Yishai says Gaza weapons technology must be ‘sent back 40 years’ to defend Israel.”
“Israel’s electricity and fuel allow Hamas to launch their rockets on Israeli citizens, Danny Danon notes.”
“‘Peace partner’ condemns defensive operation, not hundreds of rockets raining on Israel; follows Turkish condemnation.”
What is barbaric is the murder of three teenagers. The unprovoked launching of rockets at civilians. The use of human shields. All war crimes by Muslims, by Arabs. This whole conflict is on them. They are responsible for the death of all innocents. Folks on twitter would have you believer otherwise. Don’t be fooled.
“Rocket attacks on Tel Aviv prompt warnings to US citizens; embassy staff advised to stay at home.”
Maybe the Americans will now notice?
“Washington and Cairo lack leverage over Hamas leadership to negotiate cessation of hostilities between Israel and Gaza.”
“Ground offensive in Gaza may not be necessary, says former head of the Counter Terrorism Bureau.”
“‘How can Israel have peace if it’s unwilling to delineate a border, end the occupation?’ asks White House Mideast chief, Phillip Gordon, in blistering Tel Aviv speech.”
The Obama administration as anti-Semitic as ever. An unbelieving President leading an unbelieving government. The Lord put him there. We have to remember that though.
“The problem is, BBC News reports, many of these images are either old photos or taken in completely different locations.”
“US Attorney General Eric Holder rang the alarm bell Tuesday about violent extremists fighting in Syria returning to their home countries to launch terrorist attacks. Speaking to diplomats in Oslo, Holder said US intelligence estimates there are 7,000 foreign fighters in Syria, and urged other countries to disrupt plots in their early stages. He said that “it may be too late to adequately protect our national security” after citizens are radicalized in Syria and Iraq. Earlier this week, British police said a pair of 16-year-old female twins slipped out of their Manchester home and flew to Syria to join IS.”
When the attack comes to the US and it was sourced from Iraq or Syria people will ask why nothing was done by Obama.
“Baghdad says 2,500 rockets with chemical weapons warheads fell to Islamic State after fighters took Muthanna in June.”
Well that is funny, the Leftys told us their were no WMDs in Iraq. huh.
“Q. Thinking of how the news media is pushing the idea for at least the last 20 years of a World Wide Pandemic, and that there are many movies and a new hit TV show on the subject, I have been thinking that the public is primed and ready for this to happen. Why would we take our bodies to meet Jesus and leave just our clothes? I am convinced that will not happen. I think the strong delusion will be the millions of raptured saints bodies passed off as the coming worldwide pandemic. Someone will have to step up to calm those left behind and clean up the mess. Am I off base, and if not, why is everyone saying that only empty clothing will be left? I have never heard anyone say millions of bodies will be everywhere and it will be an international disaster. Is there anyone out there who thinks this way, besides me?
A. You’ve probably never heard anyone say that after the rapture there will be millions of bodies everywhere because most people don’t believe it will happen that way. Death is when the spirit leaves the body, but according to 1 Cor. 15:51-53 living believers won’t die (sleep) at the time of the rapture. Instead we’ll be changed in an instant from mortal to immortal, from imperfect to perfect, from bearing the likeness of Adam to bearing the likeness of Jesus (1 Cor. 15:49). We won’t be leaving our bodies behind because we’ll need them for all of eternity.”
“Indictment follows Sunday’s dramatic announcement by the Shin Bet that it had solved the murder of Shelly Dadon.”
“It appears murderers of east Jerusalem teen do not come from among extremist settler groups that were initially suspected in the case.”
So quick the media was to condemn ‘extremist’ settlers.
“ROME – In an effort to encourage peace in the Middle East, Pope Francis hosted the leaders of the Israeli and Palestinian worlds at the Vatican on Sunday, presenting an ecumenical gathering that joined professing Christians and Catholics together with Muslims, Jews and Druze.”
Again, why is he pushing the whole ‘interfaith’ prayer? I think there is a different agenda here. I am not buying this is an effort to encourage peace. It’s more like promoting submission to Islam to be honest.
“What has happened to America’s Presbyterians? Leaders of Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) have joined ranks with the radical left in recent years. They vilify Israel, apologize for Islamic terrorists, and cheer on the Palestinian cause.”
Wow. Very eye-opening, very sad article about the current state of the Presbyterian Church.
