Articles of the Day 7/21/14: UN supporting Hamas?
Israel-Hamas Conflict 2014
“IDF announces expansion of ground offensive of Operation “Protective Edge” on its 13th day.”
“JNS.org – As rocket sirens blared at the Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer last week, a group of Israeli surgeons continued to operate on a Palestinian baby in the center’s intensive care ward, which is not adequately protected from rocket strikes.”
“The Israel Defense Forces will open a field hospital on Sunday evening to treat Gazan civilians, an IDF spokesman said.”
“Shrapnel fell just outside kindergarten – narrowly missing children and staff, who had just fled to a safe room.”
“Bedouin man killed, baby seriously wounded in rocket attack on Bedouin village.”
“UNRWA says it gave 20 missiles found in Gaza school to ‘local authorities’ that are under the ‘government of national consensus in Ramallah’”
This really shows the biased corrupt nature of the UN.
“In recent days, IDF sources reported spotting Hamas gunmen boarding ambulances in Gaza filled with children.”
Another double war crime by Hamas.
“Israeli military officials insist they are going out of their way to minimize civilian casualties in the intensifying ground invasion of Gaza, telling FoxNews.com that some 14 Hamas terror operatives have been let off the hook after determinations that targeting them could put others at risk.”
“Foreign journalists have been trying to leave the Strip through the Erez Crossing but they are prevented from doing so by Hamas.”
More human shields for Hamas to exploit. Given the left wing nature of many journalists they may find willing participants as opposed to the Palestinian civilians who are being forced to sacrifice themselves.
“A senior Hamas officials last week boasted of using Gaza’s civilian population as a human shield, and confirmed that his movement is “leading our people to death.”
Hamas states the obvious since it can no longer be denied.
“Ynet – A two-hour humanitarian cease-fire in Gaza City requested by Hamas and agreed to by Israel collapsed after less than an hour on Sunday, with the IDF saying its troops came under fire in the neighborhood of Saja’iyya.”
“In fact, for the first time, most Egyptians are backing Israel in their fight with Hamas and Egyptian media openly encourage Israel to destroy Hamas completely. Egypt cooperates by sharing intelligence and sealing the Egyptian border with Gaza. But up until 2013 Egyptian officials tended to ignore the smuggling of weapons (especially rockets from Iran) into Gaza. This enabled Hamas to stockpile thousands of rockets, all in preparation for the final battle with Israel that will make Hamas the ruler of Israel, Gaza and the West Bank. At least that’s the plan. For the current war Hamas is trying to keep the Israeli air attacks going for as long as possible. Hamas believes that the new Palestinian civilian deaths each day will increase world media and diplomatic pressure on Israel to make peace on Hamas terms and allow Hamas to declare victory (at least in Arab and Moslem eyes). Israel is determined to avoid this. Hamas is also hostile to any peace efforts put forward by Egypt, which Hamas considers an ally of Israel.”
IDF troops discover terror tunnel under house in Gaza
“This residential neighborhood in Gaza City lies just over the border fence from Israel. Since Hamas’ ruthless takeover of the Gaza Strip in 2007, the organization has developed extensive terrorist infrastructure throughout the neighborhood. In just 13 days, Hamas has fired over 140 rockets from Shuja’iya into Israel.”
“While observers of the latest round of violence between Israel and Hamas are certain to hear many negative claims against the Jewish state, the residents of Gaza are also quietly expressing ire at their terrorist overlords.”
“Three days have passed since the Israeli forces entered into the Gaza Strip and data on the ground indicates that there has been a decline in the number of rocket launches into Israel. While on Thursday, 162 rockets were fired into Israel, yesterday, only 116 rockets have been launched into the Jewish state. Today, so far, 42 rockets have been fired into Israel.”
“As Operation Protective Edge continues in the Gaza Strip, the London-based newspaper Al Arab reported that the IDF opened up another front and attacked a greenhouse in Sudan, where a cache of weapons were stored that was apparently moved from Libya and was intended for terrorist organizations in the Sinai and Gaza. The Sudanese government has not responded to the report of the attack.”
Sunni-Shiite Civil War
“VATICAN CITY (AP) — Pope Francis has expressed concern for Christians forced to flee Mosul, Iraq’s second-largest city, where Christians have resided for centuries. The pontiff in his traditional Angelus blessing on Sunday offered prayers for Iraqi Christians who “are persecuted, chased away, forced to leave their houses without out the possibility of taking anything” with them. Christians departed Mosul this week for the largely autonomous Kurdish region after they were issued an ultimatum to convert to Islam, pay a tax or face death. It’s the latest exodus of Christians from the city where communities date from the first centuries of Christianity. Francis also called for dialogue to resolve armed conflicts around the world, especially in the Middle East and Ukraine, emphasizing “violence is not overcome with violence. Violence is overcome with peace.”
This is something Pope Francis should have been doing more of long ago but better late then never I suppose.
“(AINA) — More than 200 Assyrian families fled in panic from Mosul on July 17 and 18 as the ISIS deadline for converting to Islam approached (AINA 2014-07-20). ISIS had issued a statement asking all Christians in Mosul to convert to Islam, pay the jizya, the poll tax on Christians, or face the sword. ISIS gave July 19 as the deadline to comply with its demands. Most Assyrians of Mosul responded by fleeing the city. ISIS setup checkpoints at the Araby and Shallalat neighborhoods (AlSada and Biawaizah) and robbed and plundered Assyrians who were fleeing the city. ISIS took money from the Assyrians, as well as cars, cell phones, food, money, gold, including fake jewelry, electronic items and even medicines. Over 85 families who had fled Baghdede (Qarawosh/Hamdaniya) reported being robbed of all of their possessions. The fleeing Assyrians were terrified and feared for their lives. They made it safely to Dohuk (Assyrian Noohadra), where they joined thousands of other Assyrians who had fled earlier fro Mosul. Hundred of Assyrians were forced to walk 70 kilometers (42 miles) to Tel Afar at night from Mosul after ISIS confiscated their automobiles. They carried children on their backs and arrived exhausted and dehydrated. AINA has learned that nearly 15 Assyrian families have converted to Islam to avoid losing their life and wealth. In one instance, a young Assyrian women fled from her family who had converted, saying she did not want to become a Muslim. She is in safe hiding in North Iraq.”
“Militant jihadist group kills dozens of Syrian troops and workers in its largest attack yet on the regime.”
Q. I love your site and have learned so much. In one of your answers you stated, “However, the scenario you describe will come to pass after the Church is gone. It will happen during Daniel’s 70th week when millions of Christians will be martyred for their faith, and for their refusal to worship the anti-Christ and take his mark.” My question is, if all the believers in Christ have been raised with him, I didn’t think there were any Christians left.
A. There won’t be any Church Age believers left after the rapture. But many people will be saved during the seven years or more between the departure of the Church and the 2nd Coming. Seeing the Church disappear will be a strong motivating factor for those who had heard the Gospel but hadn’t made up their minds one way or the other about it, and for those who attended a church but didn’t think they had to be born again. Others will see the end times judgments and know by reading the Bible that they’re coming from God, and still others will be saved through the efforts of the 144,000 evangelists the Lord will appoint after the Church is gone. (Rev. 7:1-8) The evidence that God exists will be overwhelming and many will risk their lives to put their faith in Him. In short, the period of time between the rapture and the 2nd Coming could see more conversions to Christianity than any other comparable period of time in history.
