Articles of the Day 7/28/14: God Is Making A Clear Cut Case

Israel-Hamas Conflict 2014

Total of 56 rockets and mortars fired into Israel Sunday

“As of 8pm on Sunday, the IDF said that there had been 56 rockets and mortars fired into Israel from Gaza since midnight. Of the rockets, 7 were shot down by the Iron Dome and 39 fell in open areas, the rest were not accounted for.”

IDF Commander: Hamas Using UNRWA Gear to Build Tunnels

“The head of the IDF’s secretive Maglan commando unit said Hamas in Gaza is using UNRWA equipment to dig its longest tunnels under Israeli territory.”

Exposed IDF Guidebook Instructs Soldiers to Behave Ethically Toward Civilians, Avoid Acts of Revenge

“IDF commanders and soldiers received operation-specific instructions on respecting the dignity of civilians, avoiding acts of revenge-driven violence and other ethical issues.”

Contrast this to Hamas’s “Field Manual for Kidnapping”.   Report: Hamas used child labor in tunnel building

“2012 report published by Institute of Palestine Studies alleged 160 children died in construction of tunnels.”

God is making a clear cut case for who is evil and who is good in this conflict.  The Faux ‘Investigations’ of Human Rights Watch

“On July 16, HRW presented the findings of its “investigation” into four Israeli airstrikes in Gaza. In a statement, HRW alleges that Israel “either did not attack a legitimate military target or attacked despite the likelihood of civilian casualties being disproportionate to the military gain.” According to HRW, “such attacks committed deliberately or recklessly constitute war crimes.” However, when reading the statement it becomes clear that the “investigations” consist of conversations with people in Hamas-controlled Gaza who may or may not have witnessed the event, as well as recycling media accounts. HRW attempts to create a façade of expertise, writing that it “could not determine the weapons used in [one] attack,” as if its assessments would be in any way meaningful.”

Israel’s campaign directed at Gaza’s tunnel infrastructure

“The Gaza strip provided an excellent terrain for the construction of the Palestinian subterranean network, established in the about 10 years, since Israel’s withdrawal from the area. Due to the soft soil and sand covering the majority of the area around Gaza, the Palestinians were able to dig those tunnels relatively quickly. According to Palestinian sources, tunnels 300-400 meter long were dug within ‘months’, using ‘dozens’ of diggers working 24/7 in several shifts. Overall, tunnelling a source of steady income for many Palestinians in the Gaza strip, which suffers from extremely high rate of unemployment. Those families were digging and maintaining the tunnel infrastructure, charging service fees for all goods transported through these tunnels.”

Yadlin: Hamas won’t voluntarily demilitarize, IDF must do it for them

“This is their ideology, what they believe in, their resistance,” he added. “They will not demilitarize Gaza voluntarily. The only one who can demilitarize them is the IDF.”

Hamas’s drone and rocket development chief killed in IAF strike

“Strike represents a blow to the armament program of Hamas’s military wing, particularly to advanced weapons and drones, Shin Bet states.”

This is good news but unfortunately, these successes have been few and far between. Hamas has been able to keep its leadership intact and let the civilians take the punishment.  To Save Gaza, Destroy Hamas

“TEL AVIV — AFTER nearly three weeks of fighting — notwithstanding the 12-hour pause announced early this morning by Israel — it is time to revisit some basic assumptions about Hamas. Until now, Israel assumed Hamas was the “devil we know,” capable of attacks that were mostly a nuisance; accepting its rule over the Gaza Strip was preferable to risking a vacuum of governance like what we see in Somalia and Libya. But Hamas’s reckless violence in the current round of fighting severely undermined this thinking.”

Israel must be permitted to crush Hamas

“U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, Secretary of State John Kerry and the foreign ministers of Great Britain and France all are rushing to achieve a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas. Their motive — to end civilian suffering and restore stability to the area — is noble. The images of the wounded and dead resulting from the conflict are indeed agonizing. However, these senior statesmen can be most helpful now by doing nothing. To preserve the values they cherish and to send an unequivocal message to terrorist organizations and their state sponsors everywhere, Israel must be permitted to crush Hamas in the Gaza Strip.”

Meet the Hamas billionaires

“Elad explains that the money came from two directions: “Legacies from the deceased; money from charity funds; a donation called zaka, one of the six pillars of Islam; and donations from various countries. It started with Syria and Saudi Arabia, with Iran added later and becoming one of Hamas’s biggest supporters, and ended with Qatar, which has now taken Iran’s place.”

Question. How come the Obama administration does not implement sanctions against Hamas leadership? These guys are getting rich by launching wars and suffering of the average Palestinian.  ‘If we don’t deal with Gaza tunnels now, these threats will come to us’

“The source added that in recent days, a recognizable wave of demoralization has washed over Hamas’s combat battalions. “They simply escape, leaving behind weapons and suicide bomb vests that were laid out for battle. This morning we stormed a position, and they just weren’t there. I don’t see a determined enemy. We have encountered stronger pockets of fighting in the past. But now, I would not give them a high grade for fighting spirit.”

‘Hamas will resume tunneling as soon as we leave’

“Intelligence is good ‘but we won’t find them all,’ warns ex-commander of elite unit that tackles the cross-border passageways.”

Number one reason to topple Hamas and stay in control Gaza forever. Senior Officer: ‘We Have All of the Attack Tunnels’

“A senior IDF officer said Monday that Israel is in possession of all of the attack tunnels that Hamas dug from Gaza to Israel.”

Interesting contrast of statements between this headline and the one before it. Even if they find all the tunnels, if Hamas is left in power they will simply dig more and we will be back here 2-5 years from now. Israeli politicians never seem to learn.  Danny Dayan: Obama, Kerry Caused ‘Long-Term Damage’

“Danny Dayan of the Council of Judea and Samaria said that the Obama administration suffered from a ‘perversion of morality’.”

It is true Obama-Kerry have done damage but Israeli politicians could stand up to them and say no. Israel still lacks the will or courage to stand up to the world and do what is necessary to protect their people. Almost 90% of the Israeli people don’t want a cease fire. Egyptian government too wants to see Hamas go away. Israel has a rare fleeting opportunity they are on the verge of missing.  Captured Intel Reveals Hamas’ Explosive Plans

“IDF soldiers operating on the ground in Gaza continue to come across civilian homes rigged by terrorists with explosives. All kinds of mines, remotely detonated bombs and other IED have been found throughout Gaza.”

Use of a civilian home for the purposes of conducting war is a war crime.  John Kerry: The betrayal

“Astoundingly, the secretary’s intervention in the Hamas war empowers the Gaza terrorist government bent on destroying Israel.”

Meanwhile… ‘Freedom Flotilla II’ set to sail for Gaza from Turkey

“Amid Israel’s Operation Protective Edge to stop Hamas attacks from Gaza, a “Freedom Flotilla” is being organized in Turkey to bring humanitarian aid to the Hamas-controlled Palestinian coastal enclave with the protection of the Turkish military, according to an unconfirmed media report.”

Turkey proving to be the ‘enemy from the sea’ for Israel.  Egyptian Army Destroys 13 Hamas Terror Tunnels

“Egypt’s army said Sunday it has destroyed 13 more tunnels connecting the Sinai Peninsula to Gaza, taking to 1,639 the overall number it has laid waste to, according to AFP.”

This hurts Hamas more then the ‘attack’ tunnels Israel is destroying because these tunnels provide income to Hamas.  Egyptian army kills 14 al Qaeda terrorists, arrests 47 in Sinai

“An official in Cairo reports that 14 Al Qaeda militants were killed and 47 other terrorists were arrested in Egyptian army raids in northern Sinai. Friday, 12 jihadists were killed and 11 others detained, said a spokesperson of the Egyptian Armed Forces, Mohamed Samir Abdel Aziz Saturday night. The army, he added, had destroyed 36 houses and 40 shelters used by jihadist groups as well as 5 cars and 12 motorcycles. Last week, terrorists attacked a checkpoint in southern Egypt, killing 21 border guards.”

Report: Rocket kills 4 children in Egypt near Gaza border

“Possible Gaza rockets hit Egypt, highlighting growing tensions between Egypt and terrorists active in Sinai and Gaza.”

IDF Says it Was Not Responsible for UNRWA School Deaths

“IDF confirms firing a mortar round into UNRWA school in Gaza, but says the school was empty at the time.”

Sunni-Shiite Civil War Iraq crisis: End ‘very near’ for Christianity after Isis takeover, says Bishop

“The vicar of the only Anglican church in Iraq has warned the end for Christians in the country appears “very near” as he appealed for help after a deadline set by Islamic militants to convert or be killed expired.”

Obama claims to be a Christian yet he has said nothing and done nothing about this.   ISIS militants wreak havoc on Iraq’s cultural treasures

“The Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIS), the Sunni Muslim insurgent group who swept across northern and western Iraq earlier this year, menacing Baghdad in the process, has commenced the systematic destruction of the country’s cultural treasures.”

ISIS Destroys Tombs of Biblical Prophets Jonah, Daniel

“Eyewitnesses claim ISIS rigged both tombs with explosives, despite the fact that both prophets are considered holy to Muslims.”

Jihadists can blow up tombs all day but they can never destroy what is in the heart of every Christian.  Control of Terrain in Iraq: July 27, 2014 Iraq Situation Report: July 27, 2014
