Articles of the Day 8/18/14: A Slap In The Face

Israel-Hamas Conflict 2014

Hamas network exposed plotting in Ramallah, major attacks on Israel

“Israel’s security services revealed Monday that “the most dangerous Hamas network since the 80s” had been uncovered, plotting the violent overthrow of Palestinian Authority institutions in Ramallah and seizure of the West Bank. This coup was to be coupled with large-scale terrorist attacks in Israel. No date was attached to the revelation. Hamas terrorist cells were to converge on the PA seat from Jerusalem, Hebron, Nablus, Jericho and 37 Palestinian villages. The plot was alleged to be orchestrated by Saleh al-Arouri from Istanbul, who has maintained a base of operation labeled “Hamas-West Bank,” with the knowledge of Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, since his deportation in 2010.
Al-Arari took care of recruiting activists and transferring of funds for terrorist operations assisted by a forward command in Jordan. Hamas political leader Khaled Meshaal was alleged by the Israeli security services as in on the conspiracy. DEBKAfile finds the timing of this disclosure suggestive. It coincides with a meeting ion Qatar Monday between PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas and Meshaal, and may have been a reminder of Meshaal’s murky history – even though Egyptian President Abdel-Fatteh El-Sisi and Abbas must know all about the Hamas leader with whom they hope to conclude a deal for a long-term truce in Gaza.”

Hamas is basically Erdogan’s proxy the same way Hezbollah is Iran’s proxy.

UN: Gazans face at least 15 years of hardship if blockade isn’t lifted

“Unless negotiations to end the Gaza war succeed in lifting a blockade of the territory, Gazans will not see any improvement in their lives for at least another 15 years, the head of a UN relief agency said on Monday.”

UN continues to push the Hamas narrative ignoring the fact Hamas would re-arm like never before if the blockade was lifted.

Israel Lifts Gaza Fishing Ban in ‘Gesture’

“One-sided ‘sign of goodwill’ offered by Israel, even as Hamas refuses discuss returning two fallen IDF soldiers’ bodies for now.”

Big mistake here. Hamas will take this as weakness from Israel and that their plan to hang tough during cease fire talks is working. This pretty much guarantees renewed fire from Gaza.

Hamas: next war will be in Ashkelon

“Hamas Spokesperson Sami Abu Zuhri said that Hamas prefers to reach an agreement, but the ball is in Israel’s court”. However, Abu zuhri threatened that “the citizens of Israel won’t enjoy security until the siege is lifted”.

“The campaign in Gaza was only the beginning of a big campaign of liberation. The next wars will not take place in Gaza, but on Ashkelon soil,” added Abu Zuhri.”

Hamas is already planning the next round. Interesting,  Ashkelon is mentioned in several bible prophecies:

“Ashkelon will see it and fear;
Gaza will writhe in agony,
and Ekron too, for her hope will wither.
Gaza will lose her king
and Ashkelon will be deserted.” –Zechariah 9:5

Netanyahu-Sisi-Abbas lineup tells Hamas: Accept an extra month’s truce – or Ramallah will

“The Egyptian and Palestinian Authority delegations slapped down an ultimatum for Hamas when negotiations for a durable Gaza truce resumed in Cairo, Sunday, Aug. 17. DEBKAfile’s intelligence report that Hamas was given the option of declaring a one-month extension of the five-day ceasefire which runs out Monday midnight, or else the announcement would be made from Ramallah Monday in the name of the Palestinian national unity government. This was the first joint action taken by the triple bloc formed by Egyptian President Abdel Fatteh El-Sisi, Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas for pushing the Islamist Hamas-Islamic Jihad duo up against a wall. “

Report: US Assigned to Pressure Israel in Truce Agreements

“Washington to maintain pressure on Israel as part of truce deal, according to an Arabic daily – in another blow to US-Israel relations.”

How the West Helps Suppress Gaza Dissent

“With the fighting in Gaza seemingly winding down, stories are starting to trickle out about Gaza residents’ unhappiness with Hamas for starting a new war every few years. The Associated Press devoted its “big story” to the topic yesterday; the Washington Post ran a similar story on August 12. Seemingly, that’s an encouraging development. But closer analysis leaves little ground for optimism.”

Israeli Leftists Want Peace Talks, as Palestinians Call for War

“Left-wing Israeli protestors gathered in Tel Aviv on Saturday demanding that the end of this summer’s Gaza war lead to the start of fresh peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians. Unfortunately, Israel’s Palestinian “peace partners” were singing a different tune.”

Far-Left Groups Shocked by Public Backlash

“Leftist NGOs, journalists, may have gone too far in attacking IDF’s operation to defend civilians from Gaza rocket attacks.”

When children are the target

“In contrast, scores of Jewish children were targeted and murdered in cold blood by that same enemy during the Second Intifada. Yet few remember them; their stories have been virtually erased from the Palestinian-Israeli narrative. But we have not forgotten and we never will because our precious fifteen year old, Malki, was one of them.”

‘I Dug Terror Tunnels in Gaza and Had No Idea’

“Remarkable letter smuggled out of Gaza relates how Hamas manipulates Palestinian civilians to dig terror tunnels to Israel.”

Sunni-Shiite Civil War

US hits rebels at Islamic State-held dam

“Up to 15 Islamic State fighters killed near Iraq’s largest dam as reports of another massacre of Yazidis emerge.”

“Joint U.S.-Kurdish Attack on ISIS Targets”

“The Kurds in Iraq reported today that they began joint military operation with the U.S. army against ISIS militants, who took over the Mosul Dam 10 days ago. Last night it was reported that the Air Force bombed armored vehicles belonging to ISIS.”

Kurdish forces retake part of Mosul dam aided by US air strikes

“Kurdish forces said Sunday they have recaptured some areas around the critical Mosul dam. But the Islamists have seeded the area with roadside bombs which they threaten to detonate, making progress slow. The US military launched 14 air strikes around the dam Sunday, according to US Central Command, in an expansion of the US role in the conflict.
After IS massacred hundreds of Yazidis and abducted their women when they overran their villages in northern Iraq, hundreds of Yazidi volunteers are being trained for combat at Kurdish bases in northeast Syria on the border of Iraqi Kurdistan. They are learning how to use assault rifles and rocket-propelled grenades against the jihadis.”

Iraq Situation Report: August 16-17, 2014

REPORT: ISIS Executed 700 Syrians

“A human rights group reported that the jihadist terror group ISIS massacred in recent weeks 700 Syrians from the Al Sheitat tribe in the Deir Al Zor province. It also was reported that ISIS slaughtered 80 members of the Yazidi minority in Iraq.”

Islamic State fighters kill dozens of Yazidi villagers

“DAHUK, Iraq — Extremist fighters have killed more than 80 men and detained hundreds of women in a Yazidi village, Yazidis and Kurdish officials said Saturday, offering a reminder that the ancient minority sect is still at risk despite President Obama’s conclusion that the threat had passed for those stranded on Mount Sinjar.”

Syrian Christians facing extinction: ‘A tragedy of historic proportions’

“A new campaign to help besieged Christians in Syria and Iraq has been launched by Aid to the Church in Need, by the US branch of the papal agency, Aid to the Church in Need, which warned that both countries faced extinction of their ancient Christian communities.”

Vatican approves of U.S. airstrikes in Iraq

“The Vatican has given a rare exception granting approval to U.S. military airstrikes against Islamic State fighters in Iraq.”

Syria: Rebuild, Reinforce And Prepare To Retake

“August 15, 2014: In the north ISIL (Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant) is advancing around the northern city of Aleppo, which has been a battleground since 2011. Aleppo is the second largest city in Syria and most of its residents have fled the years of fighting (not the mention the loss of water, sewage, electrical and other municipal services). In the last few months the army has been taking advantage of the fighting between ISIL and the other rebels to rebuild, reinforce and prepare to retake area lost to the rebels in the last three years. ISIL has been winning the civil war within the rebel movement in part because their main opponent, the Syria based Islamic terrorist group al Nusra has been suffering a lot of desertions, especially among non-Syrian Islamic terrorists. Some of the al Nusra men have quit the fighting entirely because of all this fighting between Islamic terrorists.”

Israel’s Deadliest Submarines Are Nearly Ready

“Three submarines are in various stages of construction at ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems in Kiel, Germany – the TANIN, RAHAV, and a yet-to-be-named third ship. The submarines are bigger than the three Israeli Navy Type 800 Dolphin-class submarines built in the 1990s: 68.6 meters long versus 57.3 meters for the older subs; 2,050 tons’ displacement on the surface, 2,400 tons submerged versus 1,565 tons and 1,720 tons.”

US clears air missiles sales to Turkish army

“The US State Department has cleared the way to sell $320-million air-to-air missiles to Turkey, as part of latter’s efforts to boost its security amid rising regional threats.”

A slap in the face to Israel here. While the Obama administration denies arms to Israel they gleefully approve arms sales to the openly anti-Semitic regime in Turkey.

US to support Saudi Arabian E-3 AWACS upgrade programme

“The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) has notified Congress of a potential foreign military sale (FMS) of airborne warning and control system (AWACS) upgrade programme and associated equipment to Saudi Arabia.”

Can Kristallnacht 2.0 Be Averted?

“The main difference between and intifada (uprising) and another Kristallnacht, is the fact that the first one is mostly reactive and somewhat disorganized, while the later is pro-active AND very organized.”

Are Jeremiah 49 and Ezekiel 38 the Same Prophetic Event?

“According to a long forgotten prophecy that is recently being rediscovered, Iran appears to be the subject of two differing end time’s prophecies. One prophecy is described in Jeremiah 49:34-39 concerning ancient Elam, and the other is in Ezekiel 38 regarding Persia. This article denotes the differences between Jeremiah 49:34-39 and Ezekiel 38 and 39. Several of these dissimilarities are substantial, which suggests that Jeremiah and Ezekiel are not describing the same prophetic event.”

The Kingdom Of God. Now Or Later?

“Q. I love your writings and follow your views 100% but recently I have come across another person’s teaching about the Kingdom of Heaven and/or the Kingdom of God as being now. The church age. I have always seen it as the time of His second coming and the 1,000 year reign of Christ on earth. But I have to say now that I have heard this guys teaching, and now that I am reading through the 4 gospels chronologically I have been very confused. I am starting to wonder about when is this Kingdom of Heaven and/or Kingdom of God?

A. The Kingdom of God/Heaven comes in two phases. The first one is what we call the Church. It consists of all the born again believers in the world. You can’t see it because it neither looks nor acts like an ordinary kingdom. It doesn’t have borders or a capitol city or any of the other characteristics of an earthly kingdom. In Luke 17:21 (KJV) the Lord said, “The Kingdom of God is within you.” He was speaking of the first phase.

The second phase is the one we call the Millennium, where Jesus comes to rule on Earth (Matt. 25:31). Everyone will be able to see the second phase of the Kingdom because in many ways it will be like other kingdoms in the past. It will have a king , a capitol city, there will be a government to administer it by seeing that its laws are kept, and those who try to conquer it will be defeated (Rev. 20:7-10).”

Two Prophecy Questions

“Q. I have a couple of questions I would like your input on as I have wondered about these for some time. First, a lot of talk lately has been that the Antichrist may be a Muslim. What are your thoughts on this? It seems that there is a change in some of the thinking on this recently. Secondly, do you believe that those inhabitants who are living in their mortal bodies during the millennium may continue throughout eternity in their natural bodies? It would certainly add credence to all of the new extra-solar planets being discovered recently.

A. I think that the anti-Christ could as likely be an Arab from the Eastern leg of the Roman Empire as a European from the Western leg. The more we learn about the rise of Islam the more similarities we see between the anti-Christ and the Islamic al Mahdi. They both come on the scene during a time of great chaos, both claim to be peace makers, both have a 7 year reign, control a one world empire and one world religion, and both tolerate no alternatives. If they’re not the same, it’s quite a coincidence.

The Bible doesn’t really say anything specific about eternity. I do believe the other planets were created for some purpose and have always felt that we’d at least visit them in eternity.

But it will be impossible for humans to spend eternity in their natural bodies. Natural beings with their sin nature would contaminate eternity just as we have contaminated mortality. This is why Adam and Eve lost their immortality after sampling the forbidden fruit (Genesis 3:22).”
