Last week, during a birthday party for his 3-year-old son, a mortar landed just outside the kindergarten where they were celebrating. Gantz: The Gaza war is over, but Hamas may restart the fight

“IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz warned in a special order of the day, marking the end of Operation Defensive Edge Tuesday, that it was possible that Hamas would start another fight with Israel. He said that Hamas’ aggression “had not taken us by surprise. We were well prepared. Our air, ground and sea forces fought with great strength and flexibility, armed with the most advanced and precise weapons, backed by quality intelligence, networked communications in real time and close logistical support.” Gantz emphasized that Israeli stubbornly stood by its high values, treating human life with the fullest possible consideration and observing battle ethics – in contrast to”a cynical and brutal enemy which had no qualms about using civilians as human shields.”  Gen. Gantz concluded by saying: “The people of Israel all thank you.”

Iraq Airstrikes Are Strategic, Not Humanitarian

“The Obama administration and the mainstream media can make the airstrikes in Iraq sound like a humanitarian war, a New Age operation driven not by realpolitik but by the high-minded and/or fuzzy-headed responsibility to protect. In fact, Obama is using deadly force for strategic goals, just like George Bush. The difference — and it is significant — is simply that Obama relies on airstrikes (as in Libya) and special operations (e.g. Somalia), as spelled out in his 2012 Defense Strategic Guidance, rather than risking another ground war.”

“According to the official Saudi Press Agency, the visit by Saudi foreign minister Prince Saud al-Faisal, intelligence chief Prince Khaled bin Bandar, and interior minister Prince Muhammad bin Nayef was “brief” and “fraternal.” But given the recent strains in Saudi-Qatari relations, such a group suggests that Qatar was read the riot act.”

The Full Number

“Q. I have been studying the Book of Revelation lately and I believe it says somewhere in there I can’t find now about the full number coming in. It says when the full number of Gentiles are killed in Gods name is when the end will begin. Is this true? Are we waiting on a full number of people to die in Gods name for the rapture to happen?

A. In Romans 11:25 Paul said the Jews have been hardened in part until the full number of Gentiles have come in. I interpret this to mean when the predetermined number of believers in the Church has been reached, the rapture will come, Israel’s eyes will be opened to God again, and Daniel’s 70th Week will begin. In Rev. 6:11 God tells the first post Church martyrs to be patient until the number of their fellow servants to be martyred has been completed. Then He will avenge their blood. It sounds like you’ve combined parts of these two verses into one.”

More On The Day And Hour

“Q. Matt 24:36 begins with “No one knows about that day or hour …” and, if I’m not wrong, this passage refers to Jesus Christ’s second coming, but this second coming happens exactly 1260 after the abomination of desolation and so it looks like it is precisely predictable. If that is true, could that sentence in any way be referable to the rapture, event of which we cannot know the day nor the hour?”

A. This is a common misunderstanding. The Bible does not say the 2nd coming will take place exactly 1260 days after the abomination of desolation. It only says the Great Tribulation will last for 1260 days. And in Matt. 24:36 Jesus only said no one knows about that day or hour. He was referring to the details concerning the 2nd Coming. As for the actual timing of the 2nd Coming, in Matt. 24:42 & 44, Matt. 24:50, and Matt. 25:13 the Lord said no one on earth at the time will know the exact day or hour of His return. I believe this will be partly due to the fact that immediately after the end of the Great Tribulation both the sun and the moon will go dark, making it impossible to confirm the passage of time (Matt. 24:29).”

The 7 Years Of Daniel And The 42 Months Of Revelation

“Q. The Lord’s richest blessing on you for your teaching and guidance given to many believers. In Daniel the prophet speaks of the anti-Christ making a covenant for one week—7 years, but in Revelation John speaks of power was given to the anti-Christ for 42 months. What happened re the other 42 months to make seven years?

A. The covenant that the anti-Christ makes with Israel is called The 70th week of Daniel. It’s a seven year period set aside for Israel to bring the 6000 years of Human history to a close. The 42 months of Revelation, also described as 3 1/2 years, and 1260 days, is the duration of the Great Tribulation, the last half of Daniel’s 70th week. It begins when the anti-Christ stands in the Temple and declares that he’s God (2 Thes. 2:4). It’s an event known as the Abomination of Desolation. Daniel says that it’ll happen in the middle of the 70th week (Daniel 9:27), and Jesus said it will begin the Great Tribulation (Matt 24:15,21)

So the anti-Christ will make a 7 year covenant with Israel that will appear to bring them peace. But in the middle of it he will stand in the Temple and proclaim that he’s God. At that time he’ll betray Israel and in Satan’s power will do his best to destroy the Jews once and for all. Of course he’ll fail and the Lord will emerge victorious.”

Ezekiel’s Battle And The Red Horse Of Rev. 6

“Q. I recently heard a Bible teacher I respect say that Ezekiel’s battle is the same as the second seal judgment (the red horse). I know you’ve said that you think the Ezekiel battle will come before the tribulation because the Jewish people need a cause to return to old covenant worship. Other than that, is there a specific reason the second seal judgment and the battle in Ezekiel couldn’t be the same thing?

A. I don’t think Daniel’s 70th week can start until after Ezekiel’s battle, and I believe the seal judgments come in the early days of the 70th week. The 2nd Seal (red horse) judgment is a general statement that peace will be taken from the Earth as the anti-Christ begins his conquest. (Rev. 6:3-4) I believe the anti-Christ first comes to power on a promise of peace that includes giving the Jews authority to build their Temple (Daniel 8:25 & 9:27). Since the Jews won’t want a Temple until after Ezekiel’s battle, it seems to me his rise to prominence has to follow Ezekiel’s battle when the world will be desperate for peace. After he’s gotten things quieted down, he’ll begin his time of conquest in the name of enforcing the peace. (1 Thes. 5:2-3) That’s when the 2nd Seal will be opened.”
