Articles of the Day 9/18/14: So Who Drinks The Blood Again?
“EIN ZIVAN, GOLAN HEIGHTS — The green and white flag fluttering above a border checkpoint not far from the Ein Zivan kibbutz on a recent afternoon symbolized the new reality that has taken hold for Israelis who live on the Golan Heights: Islamist rebels now control areas of Syria on the very doorstep of Israeli-controlled land.”
“A United Nations official says he expects the amount of building materials entering Gaza to quadruple in the coming months, as the first details emerged from a deal reached on the territory’s post-war reconstruction. UN envoy James Rawley says that Israel, the Palestinian Authority and the UN agreed to increase the amount of basic building materials entering the war-battered territory. Rawley says the UN will monitor the flow of goods to address Israeli security concerns.”
That likely means terrorist tunnels into Israel will also quadruple.
“Renewed mortar fire and renewed terror tunnel building means many Jews near Gaza will leave for holidays – and may never return.”
“While enforcing truces with Israel, Hamas has often signaled to Sinai groups that they are free to attack Israel from Gaza.”
“Following mortar shell fire, one Gaza area resident says panic is rising over the possibility of another war.”
Remember, these are birth pains. They will come more frequently and with greater intensity. Next round with Hamas not far off.
“Two days after a rocket exploded in Eshkol Regional Council, sirens were heard in Hof Ashkelon Regional Council and Sha’ar Hanegev.”
I don’t believe Hamas wants to start the next round now but they are not in full control. There are other groups who want to stir things up, so far the IDF seems to be ignoring this because they don’t to fight again either.
“Confusion reigns as IDF dismisses initial reports, says series of sirens in southern Israel false alarms.”
False alarms? I don’t think so. The southern residents are not buying it.
“Dozens of would-be Palestinian immigrants have been killed or have gone missing after the boats carrying them capsized off the shores of Egypt and Libya.”
“The border between Israel and Lebanon has remained relatively quiet in the past few years, though recent events are threatening to quickly deteriorate stability in the area. Hezbollah remains strongly present in southern Lebanon, and is now gaining experience in Syria. A senior IDF officer analyzed the situation, describing it as “unstable”.”
The IDF keeps talking about the Northern front for some reason. I think it is misinformation intended for the Israeli public. Hamas can’t control the fire coming from other terrorists groups and the IDF knows it. They are trying to direct Israeli public attention away from the South. They don’t want to respond but they may have too if it continues.
“All 1,200 UNDOF peacekeepers now crowded into base on Israeli side of border; ‘their mandate is just not relevant anymore,’ ex-liaison officer says.”
So ironic after all the antisemitism coming from the UN the peacekeepers have to flee to Israel for safety.
“29 year old Bethlehem resident was arrested after he tried to smuggle an axe into Jerusalem, for the purpose of attacking soldiers.”
“Watch: Former Jordanian member of parliament uses the centuries old “matzah blood libel” in television interview.”
Like Hitler and the Nazis, Arabs like to demonize the Jewish people. This gives the Arabs the ‘justification’ to kill Jews.
“In video, Rabiya Shahade, ex-mechanical engineering student from Nazareth, also says IS loves ‘dying for Allah as much as you love life’”
Interesting, this IS member admits doing what Arabs accuse Jews of doing. In the world, what is evil is good and what is good is evil. The world has it backwards, it is confusing so just trust Jesus……he is the only constant good.
“Hamas official Musa Abu Marzouk stated in an interview on Al Quds TV recently that it is no longer taboo for Hamas to negotiate with Israel and that such negotiations don’t violate Islamic law.”
That is because time and time again Israel gives in to terrorist demands. Hamas and Fatah actually make most of their gains through negotiation with Israel. That is why Israeli Leftest politicians should be shunned because only they seek only to give Israel away to the enemy.
Islamic Civil War
“America’s top military official – the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Martin E. Dempsey – just admitted in a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing what we’ve been saying for months … America’s closest allies are supporting ISIS.”
“BEIRUT – At least one unmanned surveillance aircraft has been seen over Islamic State-controlled areas of the Syrian province of Aleppo, where the radical group has evacuated most of its bases, a group which tracks the war in Syria reported on Thursday. Rami Abdulrahman, who runs the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said multiple sources in northeastern Aleppo had spotted at least one drone over towns including al-Bab and Manbij. “They hadn’t seen them before,” he told Reuters by telephone. US President Barack Obama last month authorised surveillance flights in Syria. Unmanned surveillance aircraft have already been spotted over the city of Raqqa, the Islamic State’s stronghold in Syria 450 km (250 miles) northeast of Damascus, activists have reported.”
“The House of Representatives, the lower chamber of the US Congress, has approved President Obama’s request for $500 million to train and equip about 5,000 of Syria’s insurgents over several months.”
This is a big mistake. The arms will find their way into terrorist hands and be used against civilians and eventually Israel. So naive the Obama administration and Congress are.
“Extremist group said to evacuate ‘many’ positions in Syria in anticipation of American-led military action.”
With all the public buildup from the Obama administration IS has had plenty of time and warning to bunker down and make themselves safe from air attack. The US air offensive against IS will only be marginally successful and lacking decent ground element IS will not be dislodged. Epic fail already by the Obama administration. I get the feeling a lot of this is just for show.
“David Andrew Weinberg, a specialist on Gulf affairs and a senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, told the Post that “Qatar’s foreign policy gains a lot in the short term from backing radical Islamists, but occasionally it has demonstrated a willingness to temper this support in response to consistent, targeted pressure from the outside.”
“By Inna Lazareva, The Telegraph – “A stone monument in the shape of a crescent moon found in northern Israel is more than 5,000 years old, archaeologists have said.”
The parallels to Islam in this article are quite impressive.
“Q. An online news service recently wrote an article entitled “Will Tribulation Begin a Year From Now?” In the article, the author uses some kind of calculations to determine that Fall 2015 could possibly be the beginning of the Tribulation. Do you think this is likely? Is it possible to predict the beginning of the Tribulation period?
A. The idea that the tribulation, more properly known as Daniel’s 70th Week, could possibly begin a year from now is actually based on two hypotheses that I find to be highly speculative. It’s theoretically possible that Daniel’s 70th Week could begin that soon, but based on my understanding of Bible prophecy the following things would have to happen between now and then.
1. The rapture of the Church would have to take place.
2. Both the prophecies of Psalm 83 and Ezekiel 38 would have to be fulfilled.
3. Israel would have to be back in a national covenant with God.
4. The one who will become known as the anti-Christ would have to be in a position to confirm a covenant with Israel permitting the construction of a Temple in Israel.
All these things could happen within a year, and if they do then Daniel’s 70th Week could begin.”
“Q. Please help me to understand the following. When Adam and Eve sinned in the garden, they legally gave the earth over to Satan, right? So, all throughout the years until the Lord gave Himself on the cross and rose from the dead, was Satan the real owner of planet earth, instead of God? How could God not own the earth? It seems incredible. It seems King Jesus bought the earth back somehow, with His blood, but Satan is still ruling it or something. Is there any more about this you think I should know?
A. That’s a pretty good summary. Exactly how Satan came into possession of earth is not made clear in the Bible. But here’s what we do know.
In Luke 4:5-7 Satan promised all authority and splendor of the kingdoms of the world to Jesus in exchange for His worship. He said, “It has been given to me and I can give it to anyone I want to.” Jesus declined Satan’s offer but did not dispute his claim.
In John 12:31, 14:30, & 16:11 Jesus referred to Satan as the prince (ruler) of this world.
In 2 Cor. 4:4 Paul called him the god of this age
In 1 John 5:19 John said the whole world is under the control of the evil one.
In Acts 3:21 Peter said that Jesus must remain in Heaven until the time comes for God to restore everything.
In Romans 8:19-22 Paul wrote that the creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed so it can be liberated from its bondage to decay.
Put it all together and I believe it tells us that Adam lost dominion over planet Earth to Satan when he fell into sin. Jesus purchased its redemption along with ours on the cross, but the creation won’t be restored to its original ownership, control and condition until the time of the 2nd Coming when He returns to take possession of it and the final phase of the first resurrection takes place. On that day, He will be king of the whole earth, there will be only one Lord and His name will be the only name (Zechariah 14:9).”
“Q. Why, in your opinion, did the 6 day war and the 1973 conflict not meet the substance of the Ezk 38-39 war? Obviously I expect that Turkey who did not participate is part of the answer, but Russia was very involved in both. Because as I sit, those two wars were pretty dead on. Where am I wrong?
A. Yes the absence of Turkey and several others is part of the answer, but the clearest one is that these battles didn’t produce the outcome that Ezekiel prophesied. There was no great earthquake in the land of Israel (Ezek. 38:19), and no torrents of rain, hailstones and burning sulfur fell on the enemy troops (Ezek. 38:22). Nor did the Lord send fire on Magog (Ezek 39:6). The enemy soldiers weren’t buried in Israel, and their weapons haven’t provided any fuel (Ezek. 39:9-11). Neither did Israel come away convinced that the God of Israel had revealed Himself to them as Ezek. 39:22 requires. The absence of these details tells us the Battle of Ezekiel 38 is still in the future.”
