Articles of the Day 9/24/14: Same Tactics, Same Faith, Same Fate

Israel Borders

‘Hezbollah Doesn’t Need a Tunnel to Breach into Israel’

“Upper Galilee head argues that Lebanese terrorists are busy with in-fighting and have no interest in new campaign.”

Dangerous mind set here. There are for sure tunnels and Hezbollah has shown in the past to miscalculate and provoke a conflict. There are tunnels in the North, there are more and they are more dangerous. Count on it.

Temple Mount: Police attacked with blocks and fireworks

“Dozens of Arab youths attacked the police upon opening the place to visitors. They hurled rocks and blocks, and shot fireworks. The police pushed them into al-Aqsa mosque and locked the doors. Several officers were injured.”

Lacking any progress in war, Palestinians revert to rioting again. This does prevent Jews from praying on Jewish holy ground so it is a victory of sorts for them. Satan does not like it when Jews pray to God on the Temple Mount. This is why Muslims riot whenever a Jew prays there. Not so tolerant those Muslims. Insane then that some people believe these religions can be merged into one great world religion. Some Palestinians are employed to riot. It’s a job.

Arab states target Israeli arsenal at nuclear meeting

Proposal backed by 18 countries expresses concern about Israel’s ‘nuclear capabilities,’ calls for it to join Non-Proliferation Treaty.”

The concern is that Israel might be able to defend itself from Arab attack. Yes they would love Israel to be nuke free.

Israeli priest to testify at UN on Muslim oppression

“Father Gabriel Naddaf, who advocates serving in the IDF, to tell UN Human Rights Council of Christians’ plight.”

“The NGO said on Monday that a Christian is killed every five minutes for his or her faith.”

Christians in the Middle East are being heavily persecuted right now. Please pray for them.

Iran unveils new missile-equipped drone

“Iran on Tuesday unveiled a new missile-equipped drone to boost its military arsenal, as part of events marking the end of its 1980-1988 war against Iraq.”

How come we never see videos of these things flying and firing missiles?

Doomsday Scenario: 1.4 Million Ebola Victims By January

“US Centers for Disease Control reports case numbers higher than thought and growing fast, meaning crisis unless serious action taken.”

A bit out of scope for the Israeli Border section but important enough to post. And Jesus did warn:

“There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.” Luke 21:11

I hope the CDC is just exaggerating to justify Obama sending troops to combat Ebola but I have a bad feeling they are not. Time to pray for Ebola victims.

US-led coalition carries out fresh airstrikes in Syria

“NGO says attacks target northern Kurdish border town surrounded by Islamic State.”

Attacks will taper off as IS adapts tactics to avoid strikes, in fact, they have already done this. In videos shown yesterday people were noticeably absent. IS likley abandoned bases they knew would be hit. This will be similar to the US drone strikes where several weeks go by before a strike. Occasional air strikes and no reliable ground forces will not be enough to stop IS.

Al-Qaeda Terrorist Cell Wiped Out in Syria

“Not just ISIS: American Navy missiles wiped out an al-Qaeda terrorist base in northern Syria, in four different attacks that were carried out tonight, the second night of the American attacks in Syria. The Pentagon explains that it was an active terrorist cell, planning to execute terror attacks in the west. “They are taking advantage of the Westerners that can pass through any airport”

Hard to believe with all the advance warning the US was able to wipe out anything but buildings and vehicles. However the terrorists make mistakes and the US sometimes gets lucky.

Airstrikes alone may not defeat Sunni militants

“BAGHDAD — In their Syrian strongholds, extremists from the Islamic State group had been moving into civilian apartment buildings for cover days before the U.S. and its allies began pounding them before dawn Tuesday, activists say. It’s just one sign of the difficulties in trying to destroy the group by relying mainly on airstrikes.”

Analysts: Airstrikes Will Fail Unless Ground Troops Combat Islamic State

“The U.S. airstrikes will not be enough to defeat the Islamic State without ground forces in Syria and Iraq capable of fighting the terrorist group, several analysts said.”

I think most in the US military know the air strikes will have limited effect. Obama wants to look like he is doing something though. Might help his dismal polls.

Warning signs that US, Arab powers will face human shields in Syria

“State Department rejects comparison to Israeli army challenges in Gaza conflict.”

Same tactics, same faith. Hamas and IS are near identical however only one gets UN and US funding that perhaps is the difference.

Airstrikes in Syria against Islamic State bring together Persian Gulf nations at odds

“Qatar’s willingness to participate took some of its neighbors by surprise, but they nonetheless welcomed it, the officials said. Although Qatar’s support of Syrian opposition groups linked to the Muslim Brotherhood across the region has upset its neighbors — and led, in part, to the diplomatic breach — the Qatari government has insisted that it does not directly support the Islamic State; U.S. officials, including Kerry, have said they have no evidence to the contrary.”

For years Arab states have tried to play both sides of the fence. Financing terrorists on one hand but then helping the US with the other hand. Noticeably absent is Turkey.

U.S. Is Carrying Out Vast Majority of Strikes on ISIS, Military Officials Say

“WASHINGTON — The vast majority of airstrikes launched against Sunni militant targets in Syria have been carried out by American war planes and ship-based Tomahawk cruise missiles, military officials said Tuesday, in what they described as the successful beginning of a long campaign to degrade and destroy the Islamic State.”

Army chief: Division headquarters will deploy soon to Iraq

“As the U.S. expands its war against the Islamic State, the Army is preparing to deploy a division headquarters to Iraq. Officials have not identified the division that will deploy — the first division headquarters to go to Iraq since the U.S. withdrawal in 2011.”

Obama is taking zero heat for withdrawing US troops too soon from Iraq. What an epic fail the media is ignoring.

Losing Faith In The Pre-Trib Rapture

“Q. I have been a pre-trib rapture believer but now have questions. Christians are supposed to be raptured before things turn real ugly. Scripture promises that. However, in other countries, we are already seeing beheadings and persecutions of the saints. America hasn’t seen anything like this but I do believe it is coming to us. I know it is impossible to know the rapture date but since we are seeing these horrible things occurring elsewhere and slowly creeping in here, I now question my belief in the pre-trib rapture.

A. The Bible doesn’t say the rapture will happen before things turn real ugly. It says the Lord will deliver us out of the time and place of the coming wrath (1 Thes 1:10, Rev. 3:10). What we’re seeing in the world today is a very small scale preview of the way things will be when the time of wrath comes.

Through out the Age of the Church Christians have suffered and died for their faith every day. Even before the current mess in the Middle East began, experts were saying that there are more Christians being martyred per day during our lifetimes than there were at the height of the Roman persecution. The difference is we didn’t hear about them until lately.

As scary as the things you’re seeing and hearing about are, you should take them as indications that the Lord’s return for us is drawing closer by the day. Jesus said, “I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have so that no one will take your crown” (Rev. 3:11). I believe He was talking about the crown of righteousness that He will award to all those who have longed for His appearing (2 Tim 4:8).”

As bad as things are today they are nothing compared to what comes when the the Church is removed. The Holy Spirit in the Church restrains evil today but it is weakened and the corruption of the world moves forward getting worse each day. The world will get so evil, the Church will be so weakened there will be no point in leaving the Church in the world any longer.  Look at the Middle East, as Christians are killed or forced to leave the region grows darker and more evil.
