The Prophecy of Elam

“Bill says the Lord’s “fierce anger” will be focused on the area of Elam because Iran is using that area to develop a nuclear weapon which it has declared that it will use to destroy the Jewish state. Bill concludes that the destruction of Elam is imminent and is most likely to occur before the war described in Psalm 83. One scenario he considers is the possibility that Israel might militarily strike the Bushehr reactor, which, in turn, would trigger the Psalm 83 war in which all the nations with a common border with Israel will unite and attack Israel with the purpose of annihilating the Jewish state.”

I have all his books, except for this one. There is a little too much self promotion on his site. Makes me wonder if money is the chief motivator not educating people in prophecy.

Still More On The Judgment Seat Of Christ

“Q. I have always heard that the judgment seat of Christ takes place right after the rapture. When do people that are saved during the tribulation and survive it appear at the judgment seat of Christ?

A. The judgment seat of Christ, also known as the Bema, is exclusive to the Church and is for the purpose of recognizing the things we have done at the Lord’s direction and in His strength while on Earth (1 Cor. 3:10-15). I agree that it will probably take place right after the rapture. The Bible does not mention any other group before or after the Church being honored in this way. I think this is because only the Church has been asked to believe solely by faith.”

End Times Prophecy In James?

“Q. Could James 5:1-6 be considered an end times prophecy? And if so, would they have anything to do with the current global financial crisis, sort of as a prelude of things to come?

A. James 5:1-6 says:

Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming upon you. Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. Look! The wages you failed to pay the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter. You have condemned and murdered innocent men, who were not opposing you.

I think these six verses will find their ultimate fulfillment in the last days. We may have gotten a preview of this already, but nothing like what’s coming on Earth in the days ahead especially toward the end of the Great Tribulation. Rev. 18:9-20 offers the clearest description.”

My Friend Doesn’t Believe In The Rapture

“Q. I have read with interest and did my own research on your article about the Rapture and I have been convinced that there will be a pre-trib rapture. However, How do I answer someone who says that “the apostles in Jesus’ time were persecuted and went thru horrible times, so what makes us think that we will escape the Tribulation and not go thru the Tribulation?”

I tell them that the proof is in the Bible and have pointed out the scriptures that you have given, but this person still believes because the Apostles went thru bad times and were killed in Jesus’ name that we will be also. Also, this person listens to a “prophet” who does not believe in the Rapture. Any help on answering this other than what I have already pointed out in the bible would be helpful.

A. Your friend is listening to someone whose views aren’t consistent with Scripture, but but is giving those views greater weight than God’s Word. Until he or she is willing to restore the Bible to the place of ultimate authority on these matters there’s not much you can do. Fortunately the Rapture is like gravity. It will happen whether we believe in it or not.

I’ve heard a lot of people use the fact that early Christians suffered through horrible times as a reason to doubt the rapture. But a careful study will show that the rapture was only promised to one generation, and that’s the one who would be alive on Earth just before the end times judgments begin. For example, to the church that was suffering the terrible persecution by the Romans, Jesus said, “Be faithful, even to the point of death and I will give you the crown of life” (Rev. 2:10).

But to the Church who will be on the Earth when the end times judgments are about to come, He said, “Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to judge those who live on the Earth” (Rev. 3:10). the Greek word translated “from” means “away from the time and place”, and there hasn’t been a world wide judgment since the Great Flood, so He had to be talking about the end times.

In summary, it doesn’t matter what has happened in the Church’s history, What matters is what the Lord has promised for the Church’s future.

Rapture is biblical

“Here is an article by Joel C Rosenberg about the biblical fact of the rapture and why it will be before the Tribulation. It is the best one-stop shop defense of the doctrine I’ve seen. I was shocked/not shocked to see that the new Left Behind movie released recently has sparked lots of rapture haters, from Christians no less, who fervently denounce this as a biblical doctrine at all! I am surmising from Mr Rosenberg’s title that this is one reason he wrote the essay in defense. It is a good, fast apologetics course in itself and I thought this piece was one of the best Joel has done in a long time.”
