Articles of the Day 12/18/14: It Is All Or Nothing
Repent! The time of the Lord is close at hand. Open your heart to Jesus Christ. He is knocking at your door. Let him in and take up your cause before the Lord. Jesus Christ died for your sins, he was killed for them, he rose again and he will return again. Read Matthew 24:4-14 and ask yourself are these things taking place now?
“The alleged Israeli spy who reportedly infiltrated Hezbollah and frustrated attacks against Israel held a number of important positions, including supervising the personal security of the organization’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, according to Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Rai.”
“Israeli prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu Wednesday rejected the European Union’s excuse that the removal of the radical Palestinian Hamas from its terror list by the European Court of Justice in Luxemburg is just a technical matter. ““Hamas is a murderous terrorist organization whose charter says that its goal is to destroy Israel,” Netanyahu said. “We will continue to fight it with determination and strength so that it will never realize its aims.” The burden of proof is on the EU, he said, and “we expect them to immediately return Hamas to the list where they should be.”
There goes Europe sliding back into Nazi era ways.
“In his latest sermon, Mahmoud Abbas’ advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs stated that “all our occupied land, all our rights in Palestine… our ancestors’ legacy – all of it will return to us even if it takes time.” Since the Palestinian Authority claims historical rights to all of Israel, by referring to “our ancestors’ legacy” returning, Abbas’ advisor Mahmoud Al-Habbash is assuring Palestinians that Israel’s demise is assured.”
With such a mindset, is there any wonder why the ‘Two-State’ solution idea fails time and time again. With the Palestinians, it is all or nothing.
Hamas Senior Officials At Movement’s 27th Anniversary Celebrations: We Will Not Recognize Zionist Entity Or Be Satisfied With A Palestinian State Within 1967 Borders; We Thank Iran For Supplying Us With Weapons, Missiles
“Senior Hamas officials who spoke at the marches and rallies stressed that the movement would never recognize the Zionist entity or be satisfied with a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, and called for continuing on the path of resistance and jihad until all of Palestine, from the river to the sea, is liberated. Al-Qassam Brigades spokesman Abu ‘Ubaida thanked Iran for providing Hamas with funds, weapons and missiles and thus helping it to build its army, with its many advanced units. He also declared that Hamas would soon bring about the release of Palestinian prisoners through prisoner-exchange deals.”
No to be outdone by the PA, Hamas claims all of Israel too. Look at these guys. And the EU removed them from their list of terror groups.
“In Gaza, there is no serious reconstruction and certainly no disarmament. Instead, the Hamas-ruled enclave is gearing up for its next war against Israel.”
“BEIRUT: The bodies of 230 people killed by the Islamic State group have been found in a mass grave uncovered by their relatives in Syria’s Deir Ezzor province, a monitoring group said Wednesday.”
Another Islamic war crime. Yet the UN occupies itself with condemnations against Israel.
“There is no doubt that the inscription is one of the most important artifacts ever found in relation to the Bible,” Eran Arie, curator of Israelite and Persian periods at the Israel Museum, wrote in the exhibit catalog.”
“Israel’s increasingly vocal Christian antagonists have been trying to blunt support for the Jewish state by Christian Zionists by teaching that it must not be viewed as a fulfillment of biblical prophecy.”
It is indeed sad that many Christians ignore Israel in Bible prophecy or ignore Bible prophecy altogether.
“Q. I understand that we are saved by Grace through faith, but the servant who received the one talent was sent to a place of ‘weeping and gnashing of teeth’ because he as I understand it, did nothing with the gifts and talents god has given him. I am a born again spirit filled believer, but if at the end of my life I haven’t actually put the gifts God has given me to good use for his kingdom, is this saying that God wont accept me in heaven? I am confused because it also says there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. As you can see I am very confused as to what this scripture is actually talking about, Please help!!
A. Your confusion comes from the fact that, like many others, you haven’t carefully considered the context of this parable. Even though you saw the contradictions between it and passages that clearly apply to the Church, you didn’t take the next step to see just who the Lord was speaking to.
In Matt. 25, Jesus gave three illustrations of conditions on Earth at the time of His return, and they all have to do with the disposition of people who will have survived the Great Tribulation. We know this because in Matt. 24:29, 30, 36, and Matt. 25:1, 14, & 31 the Lord clearly identified the time of these illustrations as being after the 2nd Coming. Therefore, they can’t apply to us because the Church will have been raptured at least 7 years previously and won’t be on the earth when He returns, but will be coming down out of heaven in the New Jerusalem.”
“Q. Unfortunately for me, I believe that Mathew 24:9-14 is all pre-trib, pre-rapture and coming very soon. There sure wont be ‘many’ false prophets running around during the tribulation, maybe one. God sure didn’t spare Israel from wrath. Crazy thing is my pre-trib philosophy excluded a possibility that God is angry at the U.S. And when He gets angry people die, and being God, He may not wait until the Tribulation to settle up. This warm fuzzy pre-trib business may end soon. Few are prepared. Fewer are speaking about it.
A. Some scholars believe Matt. 24:4-14 describes the first half of Daniel’s 70th Week. Others say Matt. 24:4-8 is a run-up to the End Times known as the birth pangs and Matt. 24:9-14 is an overview of Daniel’s 70th Week. Everyone agrees that Matt 24:15 is about the Abomination of Desolation. This is the point at which the Great Tribulation, or last half of Daniel’s 70th week, will begin. Which ever view is right, Matt. 24:9-14 cannot be speaking of the Church and here’s why.
First of all, the focus of Matt. 24 is Israel. The Church is never mentioned and for sound theological reasons can’t be on Earth for any part of Daniel’s 70th Week. Second, the Church can’t turn away from the faith as verse 10 indicates because our salvation was guaranteed from the moment we believed (Ephes. 1:13-14, 2 Cor. 1:21-22 and others). Third, we don’t have to stand firm to the end to be saved as verse 13 says for the same reason. And finally, verse 14 speaks of the Gospel being preached in the whole world. This will not be fulfilled until Rev. 14:6-7 after the Great Tribulation has begun, and it won’t be the Church that does it but an angel sent from God.
You’re correct in saying God didn’t spare Israel from wrath. But He did promise to spare the Church (1 Thes. 1:10, 1 Thes. 5:9 and others). This doesn’t mean the Church won’t suffer any hardship. Even a quick look around the world will tell you that to one degree or another that’s already happening. Many experts believe 2015 will be even more challenging. But the preparation the Bible speaks of is to walk by faith not by sight (2 Cor. 5:7), to store up treasure in Heaven instead of on Earth (Matt. 6:19-20), and to seek the Lord’s Kingdom and His righteousness. In return He has promised to meet all our needs (Matt. 6:31-33).”
“Vic: Nathan, could you list the first three end times signs Jesus gave in Matthew 24 and Luke 21 before we get into the fourth sign — famine?
Nathan: The first three of the end times signs Jesus told us would increase in frequency and intensity like birth pains before His return were false teachers and false messiahs, wars, and earthquakes. Then Jesus got up to sign number four which is famine.”
