Articles of the Day 1/14/15: An Iranian Quagmire
Repent! The time of the Lord is close at hand. Open your heart to Jesus Christ. He is knocking at your door. Let him in and take up your cause before the Lord. Jesus Christ died for your sins, he was killed for them, he rose again and he will return again. Read Matthew 24:4-14 and ask yourself are these things taking place now?
“Israel this week launched a campaign to thwart the UN Commission of Inquiry on Gaza, directing its diplomats to ensure that a majority of the 47 countries on the UN body that established the commission do not endorse its report.”
Israel is being persecuted by the world today much the same way Jesus was persecuted by the Pharisees and Sadducees of his day.
“Gen. Qassem Soleimani, commander-in-chief of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards’ elite Al Qods Brigades, and senior officer of Iranian forces in Iraq, was seriously injured in a targeted attack by an ISIS suicide squad, DEBKAfile reports from military and intelligence sources in the Gulf.”
“The Islamic State’s elite unit wiped out the forward command group of the a commando force belonging to Iran’s Al Qods Brigades early Monday, Jan. 12, killing its commander, Gen. Mehdi Norouzi, DEBKAfile’s exclusive counterterrorism and military sources report. The attack took place at Hashimiyah, a small town 125 km north of Baghdad. It was the most striking feat of the ISIS’s new tactic, which is to go for the top commanders of enemy forces in order to throw them into disarray and undermine their morale.”
These are Debka reports so you never know, but if even partially true, Iran is taking it on the chin. ISIS has withstood American airpower, Iranian special forces, the Syrian and Iraqi army and still remains a significant regional threat. Does that mean ISIS is so great….no, God is just not done with them. ISIS has hurt Israel’s enemies more then Israel. This is typical of the Lord, Israel’s enemies often fought each other in the Bible as well.
“Q. In Zechariah 14:16-18 it says, “Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the Lord Almighty, and to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles. If any of the peoples of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord Almighty, they will have no rain. If the Egyptian people do not go up and take part, they will have no rain.”
I have thought that all unbelievers would be removed and held for judgment after the Tribulation when Jesus comes the second time, but this seems to be saying different. Will there still be unbelievers who have fought against Jerusalem on this earth during the Millennial reign?
A. The 2nd Coming judgments, explained in Matt. 24:45 – Matt. 25:46, take place just after the 2nd Coming. As a result, there will be no unbelievers left on Earth when the Millennium begins. Believers who will have survived the Great Tribulation will go into the Millennium in their natural states and begin repopulating the Earth. Some of their offspring will grow up to become believers while others won’t.
Zechariah 14:16-18 is referring to the ones who won’t. Their numbers will continue to grow throughout the Millennium until by the time Satan is set free they will be as numerous as grains of sand on the sea shore (Rev. 20:7-8).”
“Q. How do the sheep who survive the tribulation avoid taking the mark of the beast during the tribulation? The way the scripture reads “And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.” leads me to believe that those who do not take the mark will be killed by the beast. Which means there would be no believers left, unless of course this is what Yeshua meant when he said he would shorten the days for the elect’s sake because if he didn’t, there would be no flesh left alive.
A. I think the phrase “unless those days be shortened” is a weak translation given the context of the passage and the numerous times in the Bible where the Great Tribulation is described as being 1260 days, or 42 months, or 3 1/2 years long. Using Earth’s original 360 day calendar, these are all equivalent terms. Therefore the Great Tribulation won’t be cut short.
I believe the Lord meant something to the effect that if the Great Tribulation was allowed to run its full course no one would be left at the end, but for the sake of the elect He will return at the appointed time to put a stop to it.
According to most estimates, about half of the post rapture world will perish in the end times judgments. That means the other half will still be living when the Lord returns. From the Sheep and Goat judgment of Matt. 25:31-46 we learn that some will be believers (sheep) and the rest won’t (goats). The believers will have survived primarily because the anti-Christ won’t have had time to hunt them all down and kill them.”
“Q. For encouragement, I read the story of how God rescued Noah from the flood and also how Abraham prayed for Lot and God heard and rescued him from Sodom. But recently I have been reading through Ezekiel and was struck in Chapter 21 with how God decided he was going to bring judgment on everyone -righteous and wicked alike! The only comment I can find in my references simply says to compare the story with Noah and Lot. Well, sure, but WHY? is the question. Do you have any thoughts on the difference? Why God rescued the righteous earlier but in this case did not? We have just been praying for God’s mercy because the righteous do often suffer along with the wicked and what’s ahead is not going to be good.
A. Israel had and will again have a national covenant with God (Exodus 19:5-6). The whole nation paid the price for the disobedience of its leaders. But what happened with Noah and Lot took place before this national covenant existed when He was dealing directly with individuals.
Also, we should always remember God’s perspective in all this. When the righteous perish they go to a much better place and all their worries are over. He views that as a blessing. Isaiah 57:1 tells us, “The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart; the devout are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil.”
“Q. In your recent article Seven Major Prophetic Signs Of The Second Coming, Heading #4, The Ancient Roman Empire Will Re-Emerge As A Political Force, explaining about Islam being the fastest growing and upcoming religion. Where does this leave the Roman Catholic church and Catholicism?
A. Two factors have convinced me that the Catholic Church will become closely aligned with Islam at the end of the age. First is their common veneration of Mary, and second is my belief that there are many born again Catholics in the world.
I base this opinion on Rev. 2:18-29. I believe the letter to the church in Thyatira is prophetically meant to represent the Catholic church. In Rev. 2:20-23 the Lord condemns the official Catholic system as a false religion. But then in Rev. 2:24-28 He speaks to those who have not “bought into” official Catholic doctrine, saying He will not impose any further burden on them. I believe that means they will go in the rapture.
Putting the two together, I believe that after the rapture the remnants of Catholicism will have much more in common with Islam than with the remnants of protestant Christianity.”
“Classified document lists possible consequences of diplomatic deterioration, including tighter economic and academic boycotts, restricted security imports and loss of US support.”
“Kano (Nigeria) (AFP) – When Borye Kime crept back into the fishing town of Baga in northeast Nigeria in the early hours of Monday, a weak moon shone on a grisly sight. “It is corpses everywhere,” he told AFP.”
It seems almost impossible to ignore what Islamic militants are doing to the people of Nigeria but the world does despite the obvious horror. Please pray for these people that they may be delivered from this evil.
“Let’s conclude by taking a look at what the Bible has to say about all the pressure that is being applied to Israel by the United States and the rest of the world.”
“The violent assault on the Jewish community in France that took place on Friday afternoon was the latest in a series of very troubling incidents in Europe and around the world that reflect a rising tide of anti-Semitism,” White House chief of staff Denis McDonough said at an American Jewish committee event in a Washington synagogue.”
“But even though the flags of Algeria, Morocco, and Tunisia were flying at the rally in Place de la République and Muslims were well represented among the marchers Sunday, Boular said the attacks in Paris were part of a plot masterminded by Jewish conspirators.
“The Kalashnikovs, the identity cards the [killers] supposedly left behind, it was all staged,” said Boular, as his friends nodded in agreement. “It was a conspiracy designed by the Jews to make Muslims look bad. We’d rather just stay where we are.””
