Articles of the Day 3/16/15: Getting Along Famously
Repent! The time of the Lord is close at hand. Open your heart to Jesus Christ. He is knocking at your door. Let him in and take up your cause before the Lord. Jesus Christ died for your sins, he was killed for them, he rose again and he will return again. Read Matthew 24:4-14 and ask yourself are these things taking place now?
Inner Ring (Countries or terror groups that border Israel)
“The government of President Bashar Assad has used aircraft in its efforts to quell a rebellion launched by a coalition of secular and religious Sunnis seeking to install a new regime in Damascus.”
“The commander of the IDF’s 80th Division, Col. Arik Hen, announced Thursday that the army is deployed ready to fend off a large-scale coordinated attack on Israel’s southernmost town of Eilat, which the Islamic State is believed to be planning with speedboats and aquatic motor bikes combined with an overland incursion and rocket bombardment from Egyptian Sinai. Israeli troops are also ranged on Route 12 north of Eilat and the civilian locales along the highway in case they too come under jihadi attack.
Col. Hen reported that hundreds of ISIS terrorists have gathered in Sinai, but there is not enough intelligence to keep track of all their plans and movements. DEBKAfile adds: The IDF has released this nformation as a warning because the Islamist terrorists may intend to strike during the eight-day Feast of Passover, when Eilat and southern Israel teem annually with holidaymakers and trippers”
“Egyptian military sources report that the ISIS Sinai affiliate has been discovered rounding up a large fleet of water and fuel tankers and big lorries and packing them with explosives for large-scale terrorist attacks on Egyptian and Israeli targets. The group which calls itself the Sinai Province of the Islamist Caliphate tried the method out on March 4, using an explosives-packed water tanker to storm an Egyptian military compound in the Kawthar district of the northern Sinai town of Sheikh Zuweid. On March 10, they seized another water tanker at al-Towil east of El Arish, and on March 11, in the same area, they captured two large trucks of the Egyptian electricity company and pushed the drivers out. Thursday, March 13, Col. Arik Hen of the IDF’s 80th Division said the military was on the alert for a major coordinated ISIS attack on Eilat from Sinai and the sea.”
“A leading Israeli expert on Middle East affairs warned on Friday that if Isaac Herzog wins Tuesday’s elections and becomes the next prime minister, Israel’s enemies will certainly take the opportunity to test the Jewish state’s new leadership militarily.”
Also, expect another doomed peace drive where Israel concedes more land for nothing. Iran will get their nukes unhindered. But Obama and Herzog\Livni should get along famously. Expect more terrorists releases and major concessions to Arabs.
“Footage filmed this week shows armed and masked Hamas fighters hard at work preparing for a possible future escalation with Israel; ‘This phenomenon did not exist before Operation Protective Edge, now they’re building outposts and training facilities right under our noses,’ area resident says.”
If Hamas put as much effort into caring for their people as they did in attacking Israel would UN aide even be needed?
Outer Ring (countries or terror groups that are close to but not bordering Israel)
“800 men reportedly to be sent to Iraqi Samarra in new few weeks.”
“Iraqi army and Shia Islamist militia forces surround last remaining ISIS jihadis, say they’ll finish them off in ’72 hours’.”
“Although the Baghdad government is making much ado about a victory in Tikrit, Western military sources revealed Saturday that the force which has captured parts of the Sunni town from ISIS is made up of 20,000 Shiite Afghan and Pakistani militiamen imported from Iran and only10,000 Iraqi troops. The Islamist state still controls the Saddam Hussein palace complex, one of the most heavily-fortified sites in the Middle East. DEBKAfile adds: Tehran replicates this set-up in southern Syria, where the “Syrian army” is made up of some 2,000 Afghan and Pakistani fighters and a similar number of Hizballah terrorists under Iranian command. They are fighting to capture Quneitra from Syrian rebels and confront the IDF on the Golan.”
“Iranian army chief of staff says his country will never trust the United States.”
Why then does the US trust Iran?
“Earlier in the week, one of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s advisors said that no power had the right to oppose Iran in the region. “All of the Middle East is Iranian,” Kurdish Iraqi Rudaw news agency quoted Ali Younesi as saying at a Tehran forum on Iranian heritage.”
And with Nukes they will get it. Congratulations Mr. President you have handed over the Middle East problem to the Iranians now you have nothing to worry about.
“Q. Re: Destroying Iran? It seems that Israel could very well strike and destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities without destroying their capability to wage war with conventional weapons. Wouldn’t an attack by Israel be likely to bring on the attack of Ezekiel 38 rather that thwart it?
A. First, the question to which you’re referring was about Israel destroying Iran, not just their nuclear facilities. But in Ezekiel 38:11, the prophet has Gog of Magog saying, “I will invade a land of unwalled villages; I will attack a peaceful and unsuspecting people—all of them living without walls and without gates and bars.”
This means at the time of the attack, Israel will be enjoying a time of peace, not expecting an enemy attack, and will be taken by surprise. I don’t think that Israel attacking Iran would create that kind of environment for them. Unless they completely destroy Iran’s war making capabilities, I think they would be expecting some form of retaliation.”
“Q. I just read an interesting article about the possibilities if Israel was allowed to destroy Iran. It would prevent Persia from acting out her role in Gog and Magog for a generation, taking us beyond this generation that shall not pass before the Second Coming. Thus Israel will be prevented, as no nation can foil God’s prophetic word. Do you agree with this writer’s conclusions?
A. If we’re as close to the end of the age as most people think, then Israel will not be able to stop Iran. Iran is one of history’s most important countries and is clearly mentioned in the Bible as being an end times player. And if God’s perfect time has come, then no nation on Earth will be able to stop Iran from fulfilling its prophetic destiny, which is to be part of the attacking force of Ezekiel 38.
But if Israel or any other country is able to pre-emptively disable Iran before Ezekiel 38 can take place, then we’ll know that we’ve gotten it wrong and we’re not as close to the beginning of the end as we thought.
Such a thing happened in the early 80’s when Israel accidentally discovered a huge cache of Russian weapons in Lebanese storage caves accessible only by submarine. Russia was prepared to destroy Israel using the PLO as its proxy, and came within a whisker of doing so. But God wasn’t ready yet and so it didn’t come off. It took 500 trucks to transfer the captured weapons and ammo to Israel.”
“Q. I’m curious as to your thoughts on the Israeli elections next week. If the left-leaning coalition wins, and Netanyahu is replaced as Prime Minister by Herzog, it would seem a potential major turning point with respect to end times prophecy, Israel’s future, and specifically, the division of Jerusalem.
A. I’m of the opinion that while the battles foretold in Isaiah 17, Psalm 83, and Ezekiel 38 will take place, the election of leaders who are more accommodating to Israel’s enemies will most likely hasten their arrival. I don’t believe Israel’s enemies want peace. I believe they’re looking for ways to weaken Israel in order to create an opportunity for a war they can win.”
Fully agree with Jack’s answer here. Herzog\Livni will try to appease but it will only embolden the enemies of Israel.
“Q. Let’s say a person fully leans on faith in God thru Jesus Christ, tries not to sin, prays, repents, is baptized, and reliant on Holy Spirit for daily life … also knowing that this life can change at any time according to the end times and God’s will. Yet this person is not sure as to the mechanics or theology surrounding the “rapture”. Will such persons who are following Jesus, still be taken if indeed the rapture is the “reward” for being a believer?
A. There’s no Bible verse on the rapture that makes any mention of qualifications for inclusion other than the faith that saves us. Nor does any verse differentiate “good” Christians from “bad” ones in determining who gets to go. Believing in the rapture or not, or in a certain timing for it, or in a list of qualifications, are not salvation issues and have no bearing on our destiny. The Bible only says that the Lord will return for His own, and He knows who they are.
Paul said right after the resurrection of the dead we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them (1 Thes 4:16-17). He didn’t say those of us who believe in the rapture, but simply “we”, implying that all believers who are alive at the time will be taken.
Put another way, for a believer the Rapture is like gravity. It applies the same to all of us whether we believe in it or not.”
“Q. I came to know the Lord in the 1970s and at that time we were taught that the Rapture and the start of the Tribulation were virtually synonymous. Now all the teaching postulates a gap between the Rapture and Tribulation and this troubles me greatly as to what exactly this time period would be called in the nomenclature of dispensations and what would happen to believers in that time period who get saved after the Rapture but before the start of the 70th week. Are they part of the church or of Israel? Or is there something new?
A. The idea of a gap between the rapture and Daniel’s 70th Week is simply an opinion because there’s no Scripture to either confirm or refute it. No one knows exactly when either one will take place, and their only connection is that the rapture must precede the beginning of the 70th Week. It’s one of those topics the Bible doesn’t address.
The seven Dispensations are simply a way of differentiating between periods of Bible history. It’s not necessary for any one of them to follow directly on the heels of its predecessor. While the rapture of the Church will bring the Age of Grace to an end, the remaining 7 years of the Law do not necessarily have to resume the next day.
Everyone who gets saved after the rapture and survives the end times judgments, whether there’s a gap or not, will either belong to Israel or the Gentile nations, depending on their ethnic heritage. If they don’t survive they will be tribulation martyrs. In either case they won’t be part of the Church, whose membership will close at the moment of the rapture.”
‘They could have gone to a community centre, I suppose, but they loved being in a church, they were just really pleased and delighted to have the welcome and it was very moving, really. It is the same God, we share the same tradition.’
And that is the big deception. It is not the same God. Islam and Christianity are complete opposites. Islam glorifies death and killing of innocents. Christianity preaches forgiveness, mercy and compassion…even for those who hate us. Allah is a counterfeit , a fraud and very likely is Satan. Beware of this evil and attempts by people like this vicar to embrace such evil.
“Since the army took power from Mohamed Morsi in 2013 with popular support, Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sissi says he’s been fighting to keep the forces of anarchy at bay. On the eve of a large investment conference this weekend, he invited The Washington Post’s Lally Weymouth to the massive white presidential palace for a conversation about Egypt’s problematic relationship with Washington, how to defeat the Islamic State, and his fears and hopes for his country.”
A willing force against Islamic terror, but he is ignored by the Obama administration.
“The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) was established more than 60 years ago as a temporary initiative to address the needs of Palestinian refugees and to facilitate their resettlement and/or repatriation. It has become a permanent institution providing services to multiple generations of Palestinians, of whom a large majority live outside refugee camps, enjoy citizenship in other countries, or reside in the Palestinian-governed territories. Despite the presence of and activities funded through UNRWA, the Palestinian refugee problem has only grown larger, in part due to UNRWA’s expanding definition of refugee. The U.S. should encourage reform and replacement of UNRWA to facilitate its original purpose.”
