Articles of the Day 4/28/15: Turning Up the Heat

Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me.
I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand,
and I will do all that I please.’Isaiah 46:9-10

Please pray for the people of Nepal living through the aftermath of a devastating earthquake and its aftermath. Maybe it is just me but it seems earthquake activity has picked up recently. Also, note the lawlessness in Baltimore. Lots happening already this week. It feels like the temperature has been turned up.

Inner Ring (Countries or terror groups that border Israel)

Rocket-mortar fire on Golan timed for Syrian defense chief’s visit to Tehran for his next orders

“The two rockets or mortar shells from Syria which exploded on the Golan at noon Tuesday, April 28, followed by alerts along the Galilee border with Syria, were timed to coincide exactly with the arrival in Tehran of a large Syrian military delegation led by Defense Minister Fahad Jassim al-Freij. High on the agenda of his consultations with Iranian leaders was no doubt the explosive situation developing on the Syrian-Israeli border.”

UN Blames IDF for Attacks on Hamas Rocket Caches

“Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon deplores IDF attacks on ‘UN schools’ – despite three proven incidents they were being used to store rockets.”

In other words, it is ok to store munitions at UN facilities and use it to attack a civilian population. The UN is deplorable. Western nations should cease funding this corrupt institution immediately.

Hizballah terror attack on Golan stokes face-off between Israel and the Syrian-Hizballah alliance

“According to Arab media, Israeli executed its third strike against Syrian and Hizballah targets in the Qalamoun area on the Syrian Lebanese border Sunday night, April 26 – shortly after Hizballah attempted to plant an explosive device near an Israeli Golan military post.”

New attacks show blurring of Lebanese, Syrian fronts

“Hezbollah, now ruling Lebanon, doesn’t want large-scale conflict with Israel, but does want to deter IDF from ‘crossing red lines’”

Hizbullah airstrip revealed

“Lebanon’s militant Shia group, Hizbullah, has constructed an airstrip in the northern Bekaa Valley for its unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), an analysis of satellite images suggests.”

4 police officers wounded in spate of weekend terrorist attacks

“Terrorist rams and wounds three cops in east Jerusalem • Border policeman on patrol in Hebron wounded in face and neck by Palestinian attacker, who was shot and killed • Teen shot dead after running at Jerusalem roadblock waving knives.”

Israeli planes strike targets in Syria, Arab media report

“According to Arab media and pro-opposition sources in Syria, the strikes targeted several bases belonging to Syrian missile brigades in the mountainous Qalamoun region near the Syrian-Lebanese border. The targets reportedly were Syrian army brigades said to keep long-range missiles and other strategic weaponry.”

Syrian sources: Ex-Israeli Druzes laid explosive on Golan

“According to Syrian sources, the four-man team which laid an explosive device near an IDF border post in northern Golan Sunday night were Druzes – two of them former members of the Israeli Druze community from the Golan village of Majd el-Shams. Hizballah sources described the four terrorists as belonging to a Druze group calling itself the “Martyrs of Quneitra.” An Israeli air strike killed all four. The device did not explode.”

Report: Israeli strike in Syria was aimed at thwarting attack on strategic targets in Golan

“Kuwaiti daily quotes Western diplomatic source as saying IDF struck targets in Qalamun Mountain region to prevent a plan that aimed to draw Israel into a war with Syria.”

Outer Ring (countries or terror groups that are close to but not bordering Israel)

Saudi troops deployed in Najran on Yemen border

“The elite Saudi Arabia National Guard has been sent to the Najran region to defend the kingdom’s border with Yemen after several Yemeni Houth rebel cross-border attacks left a number of Saudi soldiers and officers dead – retalition for Saudi air strikes. The force deployed includes a mechanized infantry brigade, artillery, air defense, reconnaissance, engineering logistics and anti-armor units, according to the Saudi Press Agency. DEBKAfile, which last week reported Saudi military preparations to defend its border with Yemen, adds that many Najran inhabitants belong to the Shite Ismaili sect and are close to the Yemeni Zaydi Shiites. Riyadh does not trust them not to collaborate with Yemeni rebel intruders.”

Large-scale Egyptian army massed for operation to capture eastern Libya from ISIS

“The Middle East is on the brink of its fourth war (after Syria, Iraq and Yemen).DEBKAfile’s military and intelligence sources report that Egypt is massing large-scale ground and air forces in the Western Desert along the Libyan border, in preparation for a military campaign to capture eastern Libya – Cyrenaica – from the Islamist State of Syria and Iraq – ISIS – occupation.”

Assad Regime Collapsing? Rebels Score Another Key Victory

“Heavy weapons seized in Idlib’s Al-Qarmid base, as Al Qaeda-led Islamist ‘Army of Conquest’ continues to make gains in the north.”

Second Idlib Stronghold Falls to Jabhat al-Nusra and Rebel Forces

“Primarily Islamist and jihadist rebel forces supported by al-Qaeda affiliate Jabhat al-Nusra (JN) seized control of the regime-held city of Jisr al-Shughour, southwest of Idlib City, on April 25, 2015. Jisr al-Shughour was a major regime stronghold in Idlib Province that many expected to present a difficult, hardened military target to anti-Assad forces. Reports prior to the fall of Idlib City to JN and rebel forces on March 28, 2015 indicated that the regime withdrew military assets to Jisr al-Shughour, possibly indicating regime intent to prioritize its defense over Idlib City. The fall of Jisr al-Shughour to JN and rebel forces is therefore a key indicator of the regime’s inability to defend terrain against increasingly coordinated anti-Assad forces without the assistance of Iranian proxies such as Hezbollah.”

Assad’s hold on power looks shakier than ever as rebels advance in Syria

“BEIRUT — A surge of rebel gains in Syria is overturning long-held assumptions about the durability of President Bashar al-Assad’s regime, which now appears in greater peril than at any time in the past three years.”

The Gog and Magog War: An Evil Plan

“Vic Batista: Let’s pick up with Ezekiel 38:10. “Thus says the Lord God: ‘On that day it shall come to pass that thoughts will arise in your mind, and you will make an evil plan.'”

Nathan Jones: That’s verse is talking about a leader titled Gog from Russia. People today wonder if Gog could be Vladimir Putin, the current president of Russia. Or, maybe he’s a demon who has possessed someone. It could be. All we know is that God designates this leader as Gog.

Gog forms an evil plan. He wants to lead Russia in a coalition of nations against Israel to plunder it of its wealth. Israel has tremendous natural gas reserves, a good economy, and the diamond trade goes through Israel. So, Gog wants to get this plunder. Like you read, it’s an evil plan.”

The Gog and Magog War: Illusion of Dwelling in Safety

“Vic Batista: Ezekiel 38:14 reads, “Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say to Gog, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “On that day when My people Israel dwell safely, will you not know it?”‘” You touched on Israel dwelling in safety in an earlier segment. We believe we can see clues of the Gog and Magog War happening before the Tribulation because there will be a time when Israel will fully be at peace when a covenant is signed between Israel and the Antichrist.

Nathan Jones: Could be. The idea that Israel is living at a time of peace it is believed could be due to another war that should happen as a prerequisite to this war. Psalm 83 lists the exact nations bordering around Israel that are missing from the Gog and Magog War interestingly. That gives us the theory that Israel through their own defense forces subdues the surrounding nations. That means that Israel will finally deal with the terrorists coming out of Gaza, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria and Egypt. They will finally have subjugated these countries and can finally live in peace.”

The Multitude Of Rev. 7

“Q. Recently I started reading your book, Understanding Revelation. Coming to chapter 7, you commented that perhaps the multitude of believers that John sees who have come out the great tribulation came to faith from knowing the Rapture had taken place. I have always taken the position that those who heard the Gospel before the Rapture, but rejected it because they did not come to love the truth (2 Thess. 9-12) will then be forced to believe the lie, whom I see as the anti-christ. No doubt there are millions of people who have not heard the Gospel, who will be given the chance to come to faith as a result of the faithful Jewish witnesses of chapter 7.

A. I believe that those who have refused to believe the truth and be saved will be deceived into believing the anti-Christ’s lie, as 2 Thes. 2:9-12 asserts.

But I also believe there are many “fence sitters” and “Christians in name only” who will be surprised to find themselves left behind at the rapture and will become born again due to the witness of those who will be taken. Many of them will die for their faith during the Seal Judgments and become the martyrs of Rev. 6:9-11 and Rev. 7:9-17.”

The Six Tasks Of Daniel 9:24

“In plain language, God would put an end to their rebellion against Him, put away their sins and pay the penalties they had accrued, bring the people into a state of perpetual righteousness, fulfill the remaining prophecies, and anoint the Temple. This was to be accomplished through their Messiah (Jesus) because no one else could do it. Had they accepted Him as their savior their rebellion against God would have ended. Their sins would have all been forgiven, and the full penalty paid for them. They would have entered into a state of eternal righteousness, all their prophecies would have been fulfilled and the rebuilt temple would have been consecrated. It should be noted here that although it appears to have been accepted by Him, God never dwelt in the 2nd Temple, nor was the ark of the covenant and its mercy seat ever present therein.”

The Kings Of the North And South, Follow up

“Q. It never occurred to me that when the AC declares himself to be God in the Jewish temple, the Muslims would consider that blasphemy because they thought he was claiming to be Allah. I thought he would actually unite the Muslims because they thought he was the Imam. Whose armies will defeat the king of the north and the king of the south? I thought that would be Jesus returning with His saints.

A. At the beginning of Daniel’s 70th week everyone will think of the anti-Christ as a great peacemaker and he will use peace to deceive the whole world (Daniel 8:25, 1 Thes. 5:3). It’s not until the middle of the week, when he claims to be God, that true followers of Judaism and Islam will reject him. But the unbelievers of the world, which will constitute the great majority, will still follow him and his army will come from among them. Remember, his battle with the kings of the north and south will take place as he’s on his way to Jerusalem to proclaim himself to be God. That will happen in the middle of the 70th week, at the outset of the Great Tribulation.”

“As Western nations boost supplies to their allies in the region, analysts warn of destabilizing effects; US is biggest exporter, Israel is 7th.”
