Articles of the Day 4/30/15: Fear God, Not Government
Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me.
I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand,
and I will do all that I please.’—Isaiah 46:9-10
Inner Ring (Countries or terror groups that border Israel)
“Congressional committee okays amendment for an Iron Dome-style joint program designed to combat terror tunnels.”
One sure way to eliminate tunnels is to remove the groups bordering Israel who build them.
“Yisrael Beytenu demands that Israel’s new government make it a strategic objective to remove Hamas from its position as ruler of Gaza.”
This won’t happen in the new government because Liberman is the only one saying it. Israel does not have the will to eliminate a threat on their border. So why would anyone believe their threat to attack Iran. Like the US, Israel too lacks the will to use their military. This is why their enemies are so bold right now.
“Eight months after conflict, Islamic group again digging terror tunnels, developing Iran-funded advanced missiles and drones.”
“Terrorist group’s renewed tunnel digging and training does not surprise Gaza border communities • “All the residents know which path we’re headed down, everyone sees what Hamas is doing on the other side of the fence,” Kibbutz Nirim member Yael says.”
Israel allows this cycle to continue. Rinse repeat.
“Despite Hamas being more intent on restocking terror arsenal than reconstruction, new UN peace envoy says Israel must stop blockade.”
The UN is basically a PR firm for Hamas.
“Iran has instructed Syria and Hezbollah to provoke conflict on northern border, says Channel 10 • Orders believed to be a ploy to increase Iran’s regional influence • Israel’s U.N. envoy calls on Security Council to condemn Sunday’s infiltration attempt.”
“Syrian defense minister in rare Iran visit told to open war front against Israel together with Hezbollah, as Iran seeks greater hegemony.”
“Despite the rumors, it is now clear that Chief Commander of Hamas’s military operations, Mohammed Deif, survived his assassination attempt during Operation Protective Edge, as Hamas renews the digging of tunnels in Gaza around the clock.”
Digging around the clock means they have a deadline. This summer perhaps. Get ready for another round.
Outer Ring (countries or terror groups that are close to but not bordering Israel)
“After three years of campaigning by Syria’s opposition and rebels for no-fly zones, the movement of outside powers for an area in the south of the country is growing.”
“Q. Re: Matt 24:48-51: “But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming: and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; the Lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.”
I know some doubt there is such a scripture in the Bible. For they don’t believe it is possible for a person who is a professing believer to be left behind with unbelievers at the rapture. But this seems to be what this verse is saying. For here pictured is one who is a servant looking for his lord’s coming. But he is living carelessly, eating and drinking as in Noah’s day, enjoying the pleasures of life without regard to the soon-approaching rapture. He is also found mistreating his fellowman. What happens?
The Bible says of this servant that he is cut in sunder, or cut off. So, concerning this servant – the privilege that is rightfully his is denied him. For we read his portion is with the unbelievers. Instead of escaping the tribulation the indication is that he must go through it and prove his loyalty to Christ amidst the purifying and chastening fires of judgment.
Jack, what is your take on this piece?
A. The interpretation you’ve quoted demonstrates the error in ignoring the timing clearly explained through out Matt 24 & 25. In Matt. 24:29-30 the timing is given as immediately following the Great Tribulation at the time of the Second Coming. Events from verse 36 on describe conditions the Lord will find on Earth when He returns. The 2nd Coming will have already happened. No matter what your view of the Rapture’s timing, it would have preceded this. So the servants can’t be part of the Church.
Verses 45-51 describe two kinds of religious leaders alive on Earth at the Lord’s return. One has kept the faith and given his flock the pure Word of God (their spiritual food) during the Great Tribulation. He will be given great responsibility in the Kingdom Age, being ushered in with the sheep in Matt. 25:34.
The other has not. By his actions and lack of faith he will have identified himself as an evil servant, a non-believer. He will have oppressed (beaten) them with false doctrine and fallen into idolatry (eating and drinking with drunkards). At the Lord’s return he will be banished into the outer darkness with the Goats of Matt 25:41. This is a description of the two varieties of Tribulation era fellowships, one true and one false.”
“Nathan Jones: As Gog’s Russian and Islamic armies come down to attack Israel, God in His anger comes again on the global scene, though not physically, because we won’t see God until we’re in Heaven. God in this passage reveals that He personally is going to destroy the nations that come against Israel. The earthquake is just the beginning of God’s attack against these hordes that will be coming against Israel.”
Vic Batista: Ezekiel 38:14 reads, “Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say to Gog, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “On that day when My people Israel dwell safely, will you not know it?”‘” You touched on Israel dwelling in safety in an earlier segment. We believe we can see clues of the Gog and Magog War happening before the Tribulation because there will be a time when Israel will fully be at peace when a covenant is signed between Israel and the Antichrist.
“Q. Does anyone know how long the battle will last? At what point of this battle does the anti-christ step in proclaiming peace the beginning, middle or end? Is this when God will supernaturally protect Israel? Also is this the battle that will provide the weapons that Israel will melt down and use for energy purposes for 7 years? If God supernaturally protects them at this battle shouldn’t their eyes be open to God then?
A. No one knows the battle’s duration, but judging by the fact that it’s called a battle and not a war, it’s duration should be fairly short, perhaps measured in days or weeks rather than months or years. God will step in and give Israel a speedy victory. The anti-Christ will come forward sometime afterward with his 7 year covenant that we know as Daniel’s 70th Week.
Yes, this is the battle whose left over weaponry provides Israel’s energy needs for the duration of the last 7 years. Israel will open their eyes to God at the battle’s end (Ezek.39:22), but will not recognize Jesus as their Messiah until sometime near the end of the 7 year period (Zech 12:10).
Many will at first believe the anti-Christ is the Messiah (Isaiah 28:15), but when he proclaims himself to be God (2 Thes. 2:4) in the middle of the last 7 years, those whose hearts are true to the Lord will recognize he’s not and will heed His warning to flee as the Great Tribulation begins (Matt. 24:15-16).”
“We will not obey.”
That’s the blunt warning a group of prominent religious leaders is sending to the Supreme Court of the United States as they consider same-sex marriage.
“We respectfully warn the Supreme Court not to cross that line,” read a document titled, Pledge in Solidarity to Defend Marriage. “We stand united together in defense of marriage. Make no mistake about our resolve.”
“While there are many things we can endure, redefining marriage is so fundamental to the natural order and the common good that this is the line we must draw and one we cannot and will not cross,” the pledge states.”
Pretty incredible what is about to happen in the US. The Liberal agenda is superseding religious freedom. Who would have thought this possible 50 years ago? People do not understand Christians can’t approve of Gay marriage. It goes against God’s word in the Bible. We report to a higher authority then man. You can fine us, destroy our businesses, ruin our lives but that pales in comparison to what the Lord can do. We simply fear God more then unbelievers.
