Articles of the Day 5/11/15: The March of Evil

Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me.
I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand,
and I will do all that I please.’Isaiah 46:9-10

ISIS Global Intelligence Summary

“The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) assessed in February 2015 that ISIS would pursue simultaneous campaigns to defend territory in Iraq and Syria, to foster affiliates in the region, and to polarize populations globally. Events from the March-May 2015 reporting period demonstrate that ISIS is now executing this multifaceted strategy.”

Saudi Arabia’s King Salman warns of Iran threat, rebels hit border town with mortar shells

“RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s King Salman said Tuesday Gulf leaders must stand up to Iran, as Yemeni rebels backed by Tehran attacked a Saudi border town with mortar shells.”

Saudi Arabia and Turkey in league to topple Assad

“US sources report that Saudi Arabia and Turkey are collaborating in a bid to overthrow Syrian ruler Bashar Assad. Officials in both capitals disclosed they had concluded a pact for this purpose, with the Turks giving Syrian rebels intelligence and the Saudis funds for arms. Theyjoined forces, they said, after the US backed out of the campaign to oust Assad because of its rapprochement with Tehran. US sources fear the Saudis and Turks are giving weapons to Al Qaeda’s Syrian arm the Nusra Front. However, DEBKAfile revealed on May 4, that the US, Israel, Turkey, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE had all jumped into bed with al Qaeda to overthrow Assad.”

The Ascendancy Of Evil

“The number of emails I receive from people who are discouraged, frustrated, even despondent, is steadily increasing. They point to current conditions in the world and wonder how much worse things can get.You no longer have to be an astute observer to notice how rapidly our world is changing. It wasn’t that long ago when the standard measure was a comparison between what was acceptable to people in their time with what was acceptable in their grandparents’ time. Now we only have to compare what’s currently acceptable with what was acceptable just a few years ago to see measurable change. Not only are things changing, but the rate of change is accelerating.”

Do We Have Our New Heart Yet?

“Q. Both Jeremiah and Ezekiel prophesied that believers would have “a new heart” (Jer. 31:33, Ezek. 11:19-20 and 36:26-27), and Paul and other N.T. writers seem to indicate this prophecy has come true in Rom. 2:29, Rom. 6:17, and Heb. 8:10. Would you say that this prophecy has been fulfilled or do you believe the new heart is not yet available to us?

A. The promises of Ezekiel 11 and Ezekiel 36 were intended for Israel in the Millennium, and Jeremiah 31 is a promise that Israel will one day receive the New Covenant, so we’ll focus on the New Testament. None of the references you cited actually promise a new heart to believers, nor are there any that do. In fact the phrase “new heart” does not appear in the New Testament.

But I believe there’s been a partial fulfillment in that believers can recognize sin, feel the conviction of the Holy Spirit, and seek forgiveness, something non-believers can’t do. However I don’t believe our hearts will be made new until we’re perfected and divested of our sin nature. This will happen at the Rapture when we’re changed in the twinkling of an eye.”

The Rapture And The Scroll Of Remembrance

“Q. What is your view in regards to the book of remembrance and the rapture of the church in respect to one’s salvation? It would seem to me that one could be saved and still not go in the rapture due to their inclusion/exclusion in the book of the remembrance spoke about in the book of Malachi ch 3.

A. Malachi 3:16-17 says,

Then those who feared the LORD talked with each other, and the LORD listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the LORD and honored his name.

“They will be mine,” says the LORD Almighty, “in the day when I make up my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as in compassion a man spares his son who serves him.”

The only names written in the Scroll of Remembrance were those of the people who were speaking together at the time. When the Lord spoke of the day when He makes up His treasured possession, He was speaking about the Kingdom Age, so He was saying that they would be included in the Resurrection of Israel spoken of in Daniel 12:1-2. Also the term “treasured possession” specifically refers to Israel. (Exodus 19:5-6). These verses do not in any way involve the church or the Rapture.”

ISIS: What’s It All About? (Part 3 of 5)

“The group was founded by a man named Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. There is little known for certain about him. He was born in 1971, making him 44 years old. He is believed to have a doctorate in Islamic Studies from the University of Baghdad.”

Israel’s return to the land in 1948 precedes Jacob’s trouble. A second return follows it. The first is partial.

Saudi king, followed by GCC rulers, snubs Obama on summit. US fails to isolate Netanyahu on nuclear deal

“Saudi King Salman’s last-minute cancellation of his White House summit with US President Obama and his decision to send Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef in his place, is seen as a calculated snub for the president’s policies on Iran and the Middle East. Two senior Gulf rulers then opted out of the Camp David summit Obama scheduled for Wednesday, May 13 at Camp David: Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isaa Al Khalifa and UAE Crown Prince Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, leaving only the rulers of Qatar and Kuwait.”

Snub or not Obama has done a number on American influence in the region. War is now more likely on many fronts.
