Articles of the Day 5/14/15: Showdown At Sea?
Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me.
I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand,
and I will do all that I please.’—Isaiah 46:9-10
Inner Ring (Countries or terror groups that border Israel)
“It is a win-win situation for Hezbollah. If we attack them, we kill civilians. If we don’t attack because there are civilians, it is good for Hezbollah as well,” the official said.”
The IDF brings this up periodically to remind the world what Hezbollah is doing. This way no one is too shocked when Israel has too target these areas during a conflict. Everyone knows Hezbollah tactics by now. They use civilians to protect their weapons instead of using the weapons to protect their civilians. They put the weapons in mainly Christian and Arab villages rather then Shiite villages so they really don’t care what happens to the people living in them.
“Protesters chanted slogans condemning the Palestinians who hold meetings with Israelis as traitors.
The “anti-normalization” and Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movements are, in fact, anti-Palestinian, anti-Israel and anti-peace campaigns that cause more damage to the people they claim they are trying to help. They have much in common with Hamas and other terror groups working to destroy any chance of peace between Israel and the Palestinians.
Palestinians need to distance themselves from those who seek to impose their will on them through intimidation and terror. Boycotting Israelis, especially those Israelis who support Palestinians, is not in the Palestinians’ interest.”
“A network of dozens of terror activists has been uncovered in the Jerusalem suburb of Silwan. It is held by the police and Shin Bet responsible for the plague of firebomb, fire cracker and rock attacks on Israeli security forces and civilians as well as private homes in the city. Among the suspects was Muhammed Abbasi, a Popular Front activist who admitted under questioning that he manufactured pipe bombs and collected rocks for arming the terrorists he recruited. Thursday, a knife attack on a guard at a Jewish home in Silwan was thwarted.”
“Four Israeli Jewish teenagers were wounded, one seriously, on Thursday after being rammed by a Palestinian motorist in what police preliminary determined to be an act of terrorism.”
There is no justification for these acts of terror, yet the world remains silent about them. The Palestinians are very guilty of war crimes against the Israeli people.
“Israeli official tells foreign press that Egypt has bought the missiles; Egypt: we’re looking to fight terrorism in the Sinai, not Israel.”
Why does Egypt need the S-300 when their main enemy is terrorism? Israel can handle the S-300 but its a purchase like this that makes Israel not trust Egypt, for good reason. I suppose though they can make the case Iran is the threat.
“At the heart of the NGO’s headline-making report is an effort to compel Israel to treat enemy civilians the way it would its own. And that, say those who set the IDF’s ethical guidelines, is both impracticable and immoral.”
NGO’s have done more harm to he IDF then all terrorist groups in the world combined. The IDF defends Israel under great restrictions often putting their own lives and Israeli civilians at greater risk. But NGOs only seem to care about Arab civilians and terror groups, even to the point of assisting them in war against Israel.
Outer Ring (countries or terror groups that are close to but not bordering Israel)
“Al-Qaida’s Nusra Front in the Qalamoun region promises to “eradicate” Islamic State “because there is no longer any other option.”
“Amid Hizballah’s rising war losses, its leader Hassan Nasrallah strongly urged the Lebanese chief of staff Gen. Jean Kahwagi to send his troops into battle over the strategic Qalamoun Mountain, alongside Hizballah and the Syrian army, DEBKAfile’s military sources disclose. Nasrallah argued that the time had come for the Lebanese army to take a hand in the fighting, since the Syrian rebels led by Al Qaeda’s Syrian arm, the Nusra Front, were shelling the eastern Beqaa Valley of Lebanon from their Syrian strongholds on the mountain that sits athwart the Syrian-Lebanese border. Thousands of jihadis, he said, were seizing land around the northeastern Lebanese villages of Arsal and Nahleh.”
“ISIS targets the regime in Hasaka to offset losses to the YPG while also trying to expand in the Central Corridor and out to the west. JN declares itself in direct confrontation with ISIS while JN and rebels resist regime offensives in Idlib.”
“CENTCOM has not confirmed the death of senior ISIS leader Abu Ala al-Afri following a statement from the Iraqi Defense Ministry indicating that a coalition airstrike based on prior intelligence had killed Afri near Mosul. Reports of senior ISIS casualties usually take time to confirm.”
“Riyadh and other Gulf capitals reportedly will insist they will have ‘whatever the Iranians have,’ as Camp David summit gets underway.”
The Gulf states keep bringing this up and Obama keeps ignoring them. Obama foreign policy has destroyed Nuclear Non-Proliferation efforts. I guess he could say that is an accomplishment.
“Tehran says vessel, escorted by warships, contains 2,500 tons of humanitarian supplies; US warns against ‘provocative actions’”
Iran keeps testing the resolve of Saudi Arabia and Egypt. They are using the same ploy the Russians are using in the Ukraine with ‘humanitarian aid’ shipments. This one could get very interesting. A possible showdown at sea.
“Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Brigadier General Masoud Jazayeri warned Wednesday that attacking the Iranian aid ship heading for Yemen will “ignite the flames of war” in the region. If Saudi Arabia, the United States, and their allies block Iran’s humanitarian aid to the regional countries, “they will start a fire which they cannot put out,” the commander added. “I clearly announce that the self-restraint of the Islamic Republic of Iran has its limits,” Jazayeri stated. Iran’s Nejat (Rescue) cargo ship, containing 2,500 tons of aid, including food, medical supplies and tents, left the southern Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas for Yemen on Monday.
The foreign ministry in Tehran said that Saudi-led naval forces will not be allowed to inspect the Iranian cargo ship bound for the Yemeni port of Hodeida under warship escort. Saudi Arabia, suspecting Iranian ships of carrying arms for the Houthi rebels, has blockaded Yemen’s sea and air ports. The US has urged Iran to redirect the ship to Djibouti where the UN has set up a center to coordinate aid for Yemen.”
“Saudi Arabia is sending a “strike force” to its border with Yemen after the villages of Najran came under heavy mortar shelling by Yemeni Houthi rebels, causing civilian casualties. The Saudi-owned Al Arabiya Hadath TV channel broadcast pictures of a column of tanks loaded onto military trucks and described it as “the arrival of reinforcements from the strike force to the border.” The five-day humanitarian ceasefire declared by Saudi Arabia and approved by the Yemeni rebels is due to go into force Tuesday night.”
“Q. As members of the Church, are we going to marry the Lord in the literal sense? The Bible mentions a marriage supper and the Church is currently the Bride of Christ and we are brides individually not just parts of the Bride, at least that’s what I believe. Does that mean that in Eternity Jesus will be our Husband on an individual level too?
A. As the Church we are the bride of Christ (singular) not the brides of Christ. It’s a symbolic relationship not a literal one. A marriage between husband and wife is supposed to be a model of the Church’s relationship with Christ, but it’s not an exact replica.
The structure of the relationship was best explained by Paul in Ephesians 5:22 where he said wives are to submit to their husbands as to the Lord, and in Ephesians 5:25 where he said husbands are to love their wives as Christ loved the Church and gave himself up for her. The Church is to submit to the Lord’s will because He loves us and gave Himself up for us.”
“Absolutely not! The idea of a Muslim Antichrist is both un-biblical and illogical. I have written extensively and in detail about The Muslim Antichrist Theory, but I will dispense of it here with four brief points.”
I respect Dr Reagan a lot but I think he should at least be more open to the idea of a Muslim anti-Christ. It is hard to ignore that Islamic end times prophecy almost exactly mirrors Christian end times prophecy from the perspective of the evil one. I’m not completely sold on the idea either but we need to let go of the Western lens with which we view things.
“Jerusalem says move not conducive to peace, will consider ‘next steps’ after Holy See announcement ahead of weekend meeting between pope, Abbas.”
So the Pope has decided to divide up Jewish land, granted by God, to the Jewish people. An act of rebellion against the Lord I would say. Leading so many people astray. A Sadducee of our day.
“Unaffiliated faith group called ‘nones’ by researchers is 2nd-largest community behind evangelicals; Jewish population sees slight growth.”
“‘Lance’ rocket system designed for precision strikes while offering greater mobility and cheaper costs than Air Force alternatives.”
“International inspectors have found traces of sarin and VX nerve agent at a military research site in Syria that had not been declared to the global chemical weapons watchdog, diplomatic sources said on Friday.”
Remember when Obama said the chemical deal with Syria and Russia was such a great deal. Obama got scammed. And it is happening again with Iran. Most of the world does not care….but Israel does.
