Articles of the Day 7/1/15: This Is Just The Beginning
“Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me.
I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand,
and I will do all that I please.“—Isaiah 46:9-10
Inner Ring (Countries or terror groups that border Israel)
“A massive shooting attack on a car at the Shevut Rahel junction near Shilo on the West Bank Monday night injured four young men driving home from a basketball match, one of them seriously. A Palestinian drive-by shooting is suspected. Security forces have spread out to hunt for the terrorists This was the fourth serious Palestinian terrorist attack in three days, the sixth since the onset of Ramadan ten days ago. An Israeli woman soldier is in hospital in serious condition after being slashed in the throat by a Palestinian woman Monday at Rachel’s Tomb.”
“After the most recent terror attack last night near Shiloh, Israelis express anger over the large amount of terror in the last ten days.”
“Katz says Hamas and Sinai Province cooperating in smuggling and attacks, even as ISIS challenges Hamas for control of Gaza.”
“Shin Bet chief says Hamas losing its ability to govern in Gaza, facing funding challenges, a stagnant effort to rebuild after war, and increasing resistance by ISIS aligned groups from within the territory; ‘We will uproot the state of the Jews (Israel) and you and Fatah,’ ISIS militants tell Hamas in new video.”
“Col. Richard Kemp: Hamas caused a large number of civilian casualties in order to bring international condemnation of Israel.”
“In a recent nationwide poll taken by the Knesset Israel’s legislative body, 49% of the body politic of Israel said they want to see the holy temple rebuilt on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem where there once stood two previous Jewish temples. The last one, Herod’s temple, was destroyed in 70AD by the Roman soldiers led by General Titus.”
Outer Ring (countries or terror groups that are close to but not bordering Israel)
“Israel and Washington offer condolences to Egypt over coordniated attack that kills over 70 soldiers.”
“Assad, he will be remembered in history textbooks as the leader who lost Syria, Amos Gilad, Ya’alon’s strategic adviser says at intelligence conference.”
“Chief of Staff appoints his deputy to lead crew examining military options day after Iran nuclear deal, as IAF drills for possible strikes.”
“The Turkish and Jordanian armies were reported on June 30 to be getting ready to cross into Syria for the first time since war engulfed that country in 2011, and set up security buffer zones. Both are impelled to fight ISIS, oppose the Assad regime and anxious to stem the flow of refugees, but there are also differences in their objectives and it is not clear if they are coordinated.”
“Q. I have a question about your study of Revelation 7. In the last 4 paragraphs you talk about the tribulation saints having a privileged existence in eternity, but yet you mention that they will not sit on a throne at the side of their beloved and will not share in God’s inheritance. Can you explain this further? This is really interesting.
A. The destiny of Tribulation Saints is different from that of the Church, and Rev. 7:15-17 explains this. It says they’ll be before the Throne of God and will serve Him day and night in His Temple. But notice they are not called priests.”
“Q. Why would God need to send ” a powerful delusion” to men that are already unbelieving and delighting in wickedness. What am I missing?
A. From 2 Thes. 2:12 we can see that He sends them a powerful delusion to seal their fate. Because of it they will become utterly convinced that the anti-Christ is their god and will not be dissuaded from following him.
Rev. 9:20-21 tells us that even in the face of God’s powerful acts of judgment they will refuse to repent and turn to Him.”
“Q. You have said, “I believe the Rapture is based on reaching a specific number of believers rather than a specific date.”
You keep saying that as though it is mutually exclusive; the number comes in on a certain day, and on a certain day, the number is full.
A. By specific date I mean a previously known date like the date of a particular feast. Obviously, since the rapture will happen in the context of time it will happen on a certain day. But, it will be the day when the church reaches its full number, not a day that anyone could have known in advance.”
“The Supreme Court’s ruling on gay marriage makes it clearer than ever that the government shouldn’t be subsidizing religion and non-profits.”
Unbelievers going for the throat in the US. This is just the beginning. Soon American Christians will begin to experience what so many Christians already experience around the world.
“The New Israel Fund is conspicuously behind many efforts to harm Israel worldwide – and while they incessantly maintain innocence, that is far from the situation..
The New Israel Fund uses words as subterfuge – and it fools some people.
In a recent letter to the editor to the New York Post (published in response to my op-ed), NIF’s Vice President wrote, “…our alleged support for the global Boycott Divestment Sanctions movement and bringing Israeli soldiers to trial in foreign courts should preclude NIF from marching in New York’s annual Celebrate Israel Parade. However, our opposition to both positions is clear and unequivocal.”
The boycott issue has been debated before and NIF’s position is clearly stated on their website. The NIF claims that it does not support boycotts of Israel; yet in an article written in 2014, ironically titled, “Op-Ed: Boycotting settlements is not anti-Israel,” they made clear that certain boycott efforts were perfectly fine with them. The boycott word is part of a game.”
