Articles of the Day 7/9/15: Beyond Logic and Reason
“Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me.
I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand,
and I will do all that I please.“—Isaiah 46:9-10

““The ongoing situation in Sderot causes PTSD at a rate three or four times greater than that of the rest of the country,” expert says.”
“One year since Operation Protective Edge, IDF official says Hamas using ISIS in Sinai to reopen arms smuggling tunnels.”
“Op-ed: The lopsided exchange of 2011 led directly to the loss of more Israeli lives. The latest case of two Israelis grabbed by Hamas must not be allowed to follow a similar course”
Finally, the realization the Shalit deal was a big mistake by Israel.
“Hamas’s “military wing” holds rally to mark one year since war, presents models of two new missiles.”
“Abdullah Barghouti is serving 67 life sentences for murdering tens of Israelis in the Second Intifada. Ma’an praised him as a ‘hero.'”
“New BBC documentary deliberately mistranslates Palestinian children’s comments about ‘Jews’ to make them seem more sympathetic.”
“Operation Protective Edge in the Gaza Strip last summer has “left Hamas deterred and restrained, and has created potential calm for years to come,” a senior IDF Southern Command officer said Tuesday.
According to the officer, Hamas is motivated to restrain the terrorist groups operating in Gaza, but if Israel wants to promote a lull, it has to strive to improve the economic situation in Gaza, while continuing to undermine Hamas’ military buildup efforts.”
I do not agree with this at all. Hamas is weak for the moment but they are not deterred from rearming and rebuilding tunnels. Hamas is just as determined as before. They are just bidding their time to gather strength for the next round. Israel has no responsibility to improve the economic conditions of Gaza.
“One year later, IDF Southern Command official says Gaza terror group close to restoring stock of short-range rockets, but has yet to recover amount of rockets capable of reaching Tel Aviv, Jerusalem.”
“On anniversary of war, IDF panel reportedly says allowing Gazans to work in Israel and travel can pave way to lasting calm.”
This is a fantasy. It only exposes Israel to infiltration and puts it at greater risk of terrorist attack. The IDF thinks the world will look upon this with gratitude.
Outer Ring (countries or terror groups that are close to but not bordering Israel)
“Syrian and Iraqi sources report that 13 leading members of the Islamic State were put to death by beheading for an attempted coup against Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. The plan, foiled a few days in advance, was to target Baghdadi’s convoy with improvised explosive devices south of the Syrian city of Raqqa and kill him,” said an anonymous source from the Iraqi city of Mosul. It was hatched by leading members from Morocco, Syria, Yemen, and Kuwait, as well as a Chechen and a Kurd, who challenged Abu Bakr’s dictatorial style which had turned the Sharia Committee into a rubber stamp. It was betrayed by one of the plotters.”
“Fresh fighting has erupted between Syrian army and rebel forces around Beit Jann and Hodr on the slopes of Mt. Hermon north of the Israeli Golan. Rebel sources reporting this add that the Al Qaeda-linked Nusra Front and Haramoun Army rebels engaged in the fighting have again warned Druze villages in the area not to intervene or else “they would suffer the same fate as the regime.”.”
“Counter-terrorism expert Dr. Ephraim Herrera explains what makes ISIS unique – and why the coming weeks could be crucial.”
“Iranian Revolutionary Guard rejects as “baseless” reports in Jordan that arrested terror suspect is linked to an Iranian group.”
“Patriot defense system stationed on Turkish side of border receives ‘unexplained commands’ in suspected cyber attack.”
“A senior level analyst claimed that the deal with Iran includes a secret annex in which the US recognizes Iran’s right to a legitimate regional sphere of influence that includes Iraq, Syria and Lebanon.”
It is beyond logic and reason why anyone would want to see Iran become a regional power. It is down right criminal to help them achieve it but that seems to be the goal of the Obama administration.
“Extremist group moves between conventional and guerrilla warfare, uses creative tactics to wear out opponents.”
“Q. There are some well known bible teachers that say salvation is possible even after one has taken the mark of the beast. I believe that scripture teaches that once someone takes the mark, they have sworn allegiance to the antichrist and their end is eternal separation from God. I would greatly appreciate your thoughts on this. Thank you
A. Here’s what the Bible says;
“If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, he, too, will drink of the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. He will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment rises for ever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image, or for anyone who receives the mark of his name” (Rev. 14:9-11).
To me this means salvation is not possible after taking the mark of the beast.”
“Q. Not even the Church is making much much protest, it seems that we, as a nation are just accepting it, why? Rhetorical question I know, but I would like your thoughts on it. Are we, I, the Laodicean church? It scares me to my core and all I know to do is keep praying, listening, hoping. I think that court decision may have been the tipping point for America and things will go down hill rapidly. I am comforted by the Lords message to the church of Philadelphia, I have considered myself to be of that church for a long time. I am almost 80 years old and love my Lord Jesus with all my heart and am grateful to Him beyond words.
A. There’s an interesting contradiction here. According to recent polls, the majority of Americans identify themselves as Christian and the majority of Americans also favor same sex marriage. So even in the Church it appears that opposition to same sex marriage is in the minority.
Rev. 3:8 says the church of Philadelphia will have little strength but will remain faithful, while the Church of Laodicea will consider itself to be rich and in need of nothing even though the Lord sees it to be wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked (Rev. 3:17).
These two verses show the division between the true church and the apostate church at the end of the age and explain why the church is not a powerful voice in our day.”
“Franklin has just announced that he plans to take his message of repentance to the entire nation during 2016 by holding prayer rallies in every state in the union before the presidential election in November. He is calling it The Decision America Tour.42
He says he plans to challenge Americans to:43
1.Pray earnestly for the nation.
2.Live out their faith boldly.
3.Take a stand for righteousness.
4.Run for public office.
5.Get out to vote.
6.Be salt and light for the nation.”
“Franklin Graham puts much of the blame for America’s wretched spiritual condition on “sinful entertainment” that “deposits rubbish in the mind, giving Satan a foothold in our lives.”15 Referring to Hollywood as “Follywood,” he laments the fact that “we are willing to spend our hard-earned money on… films that instill in us the opposite of what the Bible commands.”
“Gold accused the UN agency of hypocrisy. “As the historical heritage sites of this area are being systematically destroyed by jihadist forces, such as the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq, UNESCO’s adoption of utterly false allegations about Israeli archaeological practices is misplaced and hypocritical, at best,” he charged.”
Arab nations are such hypocrites. The Palestinians routinely destroy Jewish artifacts and prevent Jewish Archaeology from research and investigation of historical sites important to Jewish history. To say nothing of what ISIS is doing in Syria makes the UN less credible then they already are.
