Articles of the Day 8/7/15: God’s power, God’s Promises
Inner Ring (Countries or terror groups that border Israel)
“For the second time this week, rockets were fired from Central Gaza towards Israel and landed within the Palestinian side.”
“Terrorists throw rocks at Magen David Adom ambulance in the Jordan Valley. No one hurt, vehicle sustains damage.”
“Three soldiers were wounded in a suspected hit-and-run terror attack on Thursday afternoon in the area of the West Bank settlement of Shiloh.”
Difficult for there to be any peace when Palestinian governments incite and praise terror attacks in stark contract to the Israeli government.
“The mortar landed in an open area north of Kissufim in the Eshkol regional council, no alarms sounded, and no damage or injuries were reported. An additional rocket reportedly fell inside of Gaza.”
Remember it was mortar fire from Gaza that killed a little Israeli boy in the war with Hamas last year.
“Senior Hamas politburo official vows ‘awful punishment’ for Duma arson while hinting at new intifada, demands Israel rebuild Gaza.”
Typical Islamic extortion.
“In an article in the London-based Saudi daily Al-Hayat, Israeli Druze poet, writer, essayist and translator Salman Masalha wrote that the Arab countries’ insistence not to refer to Israel by name, but rather as “the state of gangs,” “a false entity,” or “an artificial state,” shows their disregard for reality and for the fact that Israel, which has developed regional roots and has prospered, is leaving the Arab nations far behind. The article, written on the occasion of Israel’s 67th Independence Day, compared the instability in Arab countries in the region – Yemen, Libya, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine – to the stability of non-Arab countries – Iran, Turkey, and Israel – and wondered if the reason for the Arabs’ troubles lay in the Arabs themselves.”
Outer Ring (countries or terror groups that are close to but not bordering Israel)
“In an interview for the German news magazine Der Spiegel, the Israeli Defense Minister hinted that despite the nuclear agreements signed with Iran, Israel has not given up its struggle against the nuclear armament of Iran and could still attack its nuclear facilities.”
At the first assassination watch Obama light up the hotline to Israel demanding an end to it.
“Over the past few decades — without a nuclear umbrella and without a world-class military — Iran has pursued a highly effective, asymmetrical campaign to spread its influence and destabilize its enemies. Early on, the Iranians noted that many Middle Eastern militaries are relatively weak. In some conflicts, the addition of several thousand well-trained, well-led militia members could have a disproportionate, even decisive, influence. So Iranian operatives — often through the Quds Force, created for this purpose — have set out to exploit local grievances, encourage sectarian solidarity and export their version of anti-American, anti-Semitic, revolutionary Islamism.”
“The U.S. intelligence community has informed Congress of evidence that Iran was sanitizing its suspected nuclear military site at Parchin, in broad daylight, days after agreeing to a nuclear deal with world powers.”
“While Secretary of State John Kerry and President Obama do their best to paper over the brutality of the Iranian regime and force through a nuclear agreement, Iran’s religious leader has another issue on his mind: The destruction of Israel.”
Today’s Mein Kampf. Erie how close today’s news parallels pre-WWII.
“Vic Batista: At the end of the day, as verse 17-18 tells us, the point is that God wants people to recognize who He is, that He has a plan for humanity, and how much He loves us. In Psalm 83:18 it says, “But they will know that you whose name alone is the Lord are the most high over all the earth.” Today we find recognizing God is a problem for people, for they don’t want to recognize who God is and who Jesus is — Supreme.”
“Q. Today I read that God buried Moses’ body in Moab, but later in scripture we find that Michael fought for the body of Moses. How can this be? What good is a lifeless corpse?
A. The mention of Michael contending with Satan over the body of Moses appears only in Jude 9 as an example of respecting the angelic hierarchy. Satan outranked Michael and therefore Michael was not authorized to rebuke him, but deferred to the Lord who is authorized.
The Bible offers no explanation for this, either in Jude or anywhere else, but apparently having the body was important enough to God that He sent one of His most powerful subordinates to keep Satan from taking it.”
Many believe Moses could be one of the two witnesses that come back during the Great Tribulation to preach for 1260 days. They will be killed by the Anti-Christ then….miraculously… they will rise back to life in front of the world.
“I have a hard time watching the videos from the Center for Medical Progress on Planned Parenthood. What I have an even harder time with is the lack of sorrow from people. Where is the deep sorrow, the “we cannot let this happen,” or the outrage at the atrocities that are occurring? Why are we so un-engaged, un-involved and un-concerned?”
See Matthew 24.12:
“And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.”
Abortion is lawlessness. It is the sacrifice of children to the god of money. Ms Patterson is right, we cannot be silent.
“Pro-Israel Christian groups to plan the fight against Christian anti-Semitism at special UN forum; ‘our Biblical duty to defend the Jews.'”
“Speaking at the Antisemitism Conference in Ottawa, ON, the prime minister of Canada said the Jewish nation of Israel is the only nation of the world whose very existence is under attack and is consistently and conspicuously singed out for condemnation.
PM Harper said that history shows the world and the ideology of the anti-Israel mob tells the world that those who threaten the existence of the Jewish people are a threat to all of the world. The prime minister said that we should not forget that there are those who choose evil and would launch another Holocaust if left unchecked.”
It is no coincidence the Lord’s chosen people are constantly attacked for their right to exist. After thousands of years they are still here. What does that tell you about God’s power and his will to keep promises?
And speaking of God’s power….
