Articles of the Day 8/31/15: God Bless Israel
Inner Ring (Countries or terror groups that border Israel)
“For Saudi Arabia, it is an opportunity to become the regional leader of a moderate Sunni bloc also supported at least quietly by Israel, which also strongly opposes the Iran nuclear deal.”
Outer Ring (countries or terror groups that are close to but not bordering Israel)
“Islamic State supporters post propaganda pictures online claiming to show group’s fighters advancing in Qadam neighborhood.”
“Russian army officers have arrived in Damascus and Jablah in the Latakia district, where they are building a new military base on the Mediterranean coast, Arab sources reported to the Al Watan newspaper Sunday. Under the caption: “Russian Army Engages in Syria,” they also revealed, “Russia has begun to supply Damascus for the first time with satellite imagery… a decision that will turn the military situation on its head.” Neither report is confirmed from other sources.”
“Both countries face a Sunni Islamist insurgency that includes Islamic State, and both have a common enemy in the Islamist regime of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.”
I think Russia is behind this. Sisi met wit Putin just a few days ago.
“One of the greatest gas reserves in the Middle East was discovered today a kilometer and a half off the coast of Egypt. According to the ENI, it is the greatest gas field in the Middle East with the potential ability to provide around 30 trillion feet of natural gas.”
Is God blessing Egypt for their cooperation overall decent relations with Israel? I believe so yes.
“A report over the weekend said that the United States was likely to remove its Patriot missile defense batteries from Jordan.”
Interesting, the US is also removing the Patriot Missile from Turkey in October.
“According to the group, withdrawing the battery – and the soldiers manning it – “will reduce some of the intense strain on the U.S. Army’s limited number or Patriot units. Currently, 60% of U.S. Army’s Patriot units are forward deployed. This is nearly twice normal U.S. Army doctrine which mandates a deployment ratio of 33%, with the other two thirds either recuperating or preparing for deployment.”
They claim they are not needed but in a time when US allies lack reassurance from Washington it is odd. I wonder if they are quietly being deployed somewhere else where the US expects trouble. Shifting of resources like this could indicate something is up.
“Q. It seems that people who don’t believe in the rapture see the tribulation time period as the wrath of the anti-Christ only – a persecution of Christians being allowed by God. Is it accurate to say that the tribulation time period is the wrath of God being unleashed after the rapture, and that the anti-Christ is using the time to make himself God while he can?
A. According to Rev. 6:15-17 the time of God’s wrath begins with the seal judgments. The first of these is the appearance of the anti-Christ. This coincides with Daniel 9:27 which says the anti-Christ will confirm a seven year covenant with Israel, beginning Daniel’s 70th Week. Therefore all of Daniel’s 70th Week is the time of God’s wrath. The term “wrath of the anti-Christ” is not Biblically accurate.
Remember, Daniel’s 70th Week will unfold according to God’s plan. That means the anti-Christ will be playing the part God has assigned to him in bringing about His judgment upon the Earth. In Rev. 17:16-17 John wrote,
“The beast (anti-Christ) and the ten horns (10 kings) you saw will hate the prostitute (end times apostate church). They will bring her to ruin and leave her naked; they will eat her flesh and burn her with fire. For God has put it into their hearts to accomplish His purpose by agreeing to give the beast (anti-Christ) their power to rule until God’s words are fulfilled.”
Paul said the Lord will rescue the true Church from the time and place of God’s wrath (1 Thes. 1:10), but this protection has not been extended to those who will come to faith after the Rapture (Rev. 14:12-13). Post-Church Christians will be persecuted during the end times judgments, and many of them will be martyred for their faith, so your “no-rapture” friends are right about that part. This is why it’s so important to be sure we’ve settled the question of our eternal destiny now, while the Church is still here.”
“Vic Batista: Isaiah 53 contains a prophecy about the Suffering Servant. Nathan and I are going to talk about who this is referring to. Is this prophecy about the nation of Israel, or could it be referring to someone else? I find this subject to be a very important subject matter because some people can feel really confused about it, some people will just try to ignore it, and some people will try to disregard the reality of what we find in Isaiah 53. Regardless, it’s an incredible passage!”
“Could you tell us about your foundation in few words and the choice of Yazidis and Christians?
Steve Maman: On June 26, 2015 I created a nonprofit organization called “The liberation of Christian and Yazidi children of Iraq (CYCI)” to support my mission. Its goal is to negotiate the liberation of children held hostage and used a sex slaves in Mosul. We chose Christians and Yazidi because they are the ones held hostage after a fatwa authorized them to be used and sold as sex slaves for the benefit of ISIS (Daesh) combatants. I would have definitely added the Muslim children to my mission if they were part of this horror.”
“But why, then, would the Vatican, a city-state ruled by the Pope, give recognition to a would-be state that for over 67 years has been dominated by war and terrorism? The would-be state is also, according to a 2014 Anti-Defamation League poll, the most anti-Semitic in the world, with a political consensus that calls for the killing or expulsion of Jews. In current Palestinian theory, this slaughter would lead to the eradication of Israel and its replacement by an irredentist “State of Palestine,” which, in its turn, would quickly be transformed into a fundamentalist jihad state.”
As a Christian, its embarrassing to see how some ‘Christians’ are treating Israel. God will bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel. See Genesis 12:3, Genesis 27:29, and Deuteronomy 30:7.
“Vatican City (AFP) – Pope Francis on Sunday praised a Syriac Catholic bishop who has been beatified in Lebanon, a century after he his beheading by Ottoman forces during a wave of religiously motivated killings in Syria.
Flavien Michel Melki, murdered for refusing to renounce Christianity, was officially recognised by Pope Francis as a “martyr” of the Catholic church earlier this month.
“In the context of a terrible persecution of Christians, he was a tireless defender of the rights of his people, urging all to remain firm in their faith,” the pope said Sunday at St. Peter’s square.
“Today, in the Middle East and other regions of the world, Christians are also persecuted,” he said, demanding “legislators and rulers” in the region and the international community to protect religious freedom and end violence.”
I don’t condone beatification but I have to give some credit to the Vatican for raising at lease some awareness of CHristiaon persecution. But he could be doing more.
