Russia speeds tons of heavy artillery and MRLs to Syria for expanded ground combat

“After several incidents, in which 130mm shells fired by Syrian rebel groups, particularly the Al-Nusra Front, reached the center of the Russian Khmeimin military enclave outside Latakia, the general staff in Moscow decided to rush heavy artillery reinforcements to Syria. DEBKAfile’s military sources report that Russia has transferred two types of heavy weapons systems by sea and by air to the front near Latakia during the past few days.”

A Russian plane recently penetrated Israeli air space from Syria

“A Russian warplane recently entered Israeli-controlled airspace from Syria but the intrusion was resolved without incident, Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon said on Sunday. “There was a slight intrusion a mile (1.6 kilometres) deep by a Russian plane from Syria into our airspace, but it was immediately resolved and the Russian plane returned towards Syria,”

Iran.”

Have 15 months of U.S. airstrikes hurt ISIS at all?

“The airstrikes, in terms of limiting ISIS’ capacity to make advancements in the area it controls, it’s probably a C+ or a B-,” says Christopher Swift, an adjunct professor of national security studies at Georgetown University. “In terms of forcing ISIS to adapt to a less permissive environment it’s probably been a D-.”

‘Israel won’t down a Russian warplane if it enters its air space’

“According to Israeli military officials, such a scenario is not in danger of repeating itself in the skies over the Golan Heights.

“The Russian military is a new, key player which we are not ignoring,” a senior military official told reporters on Thursday. “There is a clear boundary here, and they are busy with their matters, and we are busy with ours.”

When asked if Israel would hypothetically intercept a Russian jet that crossed into its air space, the official said: “Our policy is that we do not attack or down anything that is Russian.”

“Russia is not an enemy,” he said. “We are trying to avoid tension with the Russians. Both sides wish not to get to a point where two pilots, an Israeli and a Russian, will meet in the air and will be unsure of what to do. We are not going near the aerial zone in which they are operating, and they don’t come close to where we are operating.”

“This region is made up of common boundaries, and there are a lot of players on the ground and in the air,” the official said. “If a Russian plane crosses the aerial boundary, we will not launch a missile and we won’t down it.”

The way Russia treats Israel is vastly different then the way it treats Turkey. Turkey did not have to shoot down the Russian plane. Also, Israeli attacks in Syria have picked up despite Russian presence.

Bible Prophecy

If The Lord’s Coming, Why Aren’t We Preparing?

“Q. Something has been weighing heavy on my mind for some time now. It seems that no one is preaching ‘preparation’. I believe there will be a rapture of the Church soon. As things are winding down and we see prophecy coming to fruition it is time for true women and men of God, I believe, to focus on being prepared for His coming. What are your thoughts on this?

A. You make a good point. I think the reason no one is preaching preparation for the rapture is that very few really believe it will happen soon. Many who call themselves Christians don’t believe in it at all, and to some who do, the Lord’s return is still more theoretical than real. To others it’s still far off. To think of Him as actually coming for us soon takes a huge paradigm shift that very few are ready to make.

I know we’re saved and the Lord will take us whether we’re ready or not, but I think we should prepare ourselves in two ways. The first is to strengthen our faith in His promise to come for us through increased study. Remember, He promised a crown to all who long for His appearing (2 Tim 4:8). The more we learn, the more we’ll long.

And the second is to keep working to simplify our lives, getting rid of all the things that distract us from nurturing our relationship with Him. These things divert both our time and our resources away from “Kingdom activity” that would help others, bless us, and please the Lord. We should focus on extracting ourselves from the grip this world has on us, looking ahead to the next one. This one only has a little while left to run, but the next one lasts forever (2 Cor. 4:18).

Jesus said, “You trust in God, trust also in Me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if that were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am “ (John 14:1-3).

Notice He didn’t say He was coming to be with us here, where we are. He said He was coming to take us to be with Him there, where He is.”
