Inner Ring (Countries or terror groups that border Israel)
“UN’s Middle East envoy Nickolay Mladenov singles out Israel while ignoring a request to condemn Hezbollah.”
Also, why are the settlements considered and impediment to peace and not the constant daily Palestinian terrorist attacks? Violence would seem to be the greater obstacle. See they make up anything to blame Israel. It’s really the Israeli existence that bothers them.
“In the West Bank the “knife terrorism” campaign organized by the local leadership (Fatah) continues. This is all about making the corrupt and incompetent Fatah more popular in the West Bank but opinion polls show that many (but not most) Palestinians would vote for Hamas if elections were held right now. Moreover polls show enthusiasm for the knife terrorism campaign is waning. While Hamas is hated by the people of Gaza, West Bank Palestinians don’t experience Hamas cruelty daily while they do endure the corrupt and inept rule of Fatah.
The Fatah pro-terror media campaign has distracted many Palestinians from their problems with Fatah but also convinced many that Israel is refusing to negotiate peace when in fact it is the Palestinians who turned down two peace deals in the 1990s and instead tried terror campaigns to get more. Both of these “intifadas” failed and Fatah has sold the illusion that the third intifada (the “knife intifada) will succeed. It isn’t and that is one reason Hamas has not gotten involved.
Since 2000 Palestinian media constantly pushed the idea that Israel has no right to exist and must be destroyed. Palestinians who disagree with this must either emigrate or keep silent. For most Palestinians it is easier to simply praise the knife until it all blows over. The knife terrorism campaign has, since September, left 27 Israelis (and one American) dead and over 250 wounded. But 170 Palestinians have died (65 percent of them while attacking). Palestinian media depicts unsuccessful attacks that result in attackers being killed or wounded as Israeli attacks against random (and innocent) Palestinians. Over all the knife terrorism does nothing for the Palestinians except increase their poverty and Fatah propaganda about how glorious it is to die.”
Outer Ring (countries or terror groups that are close to but not bordering Israel)
“Official says attack targeted Islamic State training camp and a senior jihadist leader.”
“Ankara wants to lead Islamic world, says Panos Kammenos, adds that Jerusalem-Athens defense alliance second only to that with US.”
This could prove to be an important alliance in the coming years.
“Russian letter to UN Security Council alleges Ankara is helping jihadists recruit from Caucasus and Central Asia, in network led by Russian.”
I don’t often believe what Russia says but this could actually be true.
“Riyadh (AFP) – Saudi forces participating in any US-led ground operation in Syria would focus on fighting the Islamic State jihadist group not the Damascus regime, the kingdom’s foreign minister told AFP on Thursday.”
Saudis are really backing off now. Who knows what could happen though once ground forces get in Syria.
“Q. I have a twofold question this time regarding Matt.24:29,30.
First, in Matt.24:3 the disciples asked Jesus “what shall be the sign of thy coming,?” Doesn’t Jesus’s appearing in heaven with all the saints and the holy angels have to be the sign? Otherwise it seems he left their question unanswered because he doesn’t describe any other sign.
It seems to me that at least part of the reason why the sun and moon are darkened and the stars diminish their brightness is so that it will be totally dark everywhere on the face of the earth. This would allow everyone to be aware of his sudden coming in all his glory (brightness). If it were to happen during mid-day, his appearing wouldn’t be immediately apparent. This also seems to be what is happening in Zech.14:6,7.
Secondly, I believe I remember reading where you hint that there might be a delay between Matt.24:29 and Matt.24:30. I don’t see how it could be very long. If it was a delay of, say one day, then it would have to be said that the Great Tribulation and the Antichrist’s rule during it will last 1261 days, not the 1260 days the scriptures say. To limit this rule to 1260 days it seems Jesus’s return would have to be immediately after the sun, moon and stars are darkened. I would appreciate your thoughts.
A. I disagree with both points. I think He gave a number of signs that are progressive in nature. First he gave them the so-called birth pangs, signs that would grow more frequent and intense as the end nears. Then He said the Gospel will be preached in all the world before the End comes. This will be followed by the Abomination of Desolation, a sign that the 1260 day Great Tribulation has begun. And finally, at the end of the Great Tribulation they will see His sign in the sky followed by His actual appearance.
As for the delay between Matt. 24:29 and Matt. 24:30, there’s nothing to prevent it. The Bible doesn’t say that the Lord will come 1260 days after the Abomination of Desolation, it only says that the Great Tribulation will last that long. But in Matt. 24:36, 42, 44, and Matt. 25:13 The Lord said that those present on Earth at the end of the Great Tribulation would not know the day or hour of His coming in advance. To me this is a strong indication of a delay of unknown length between the appearance of His sign and His actual coming.”
“The chairman of the House Armed Services Committee said Tuesday that the administration is essentially sending troops into the “wilderness with a compass, but no map” after it failed to deliver a strategy to defeat the Islamic State by Monday’s deadline.”
That’s because they have absolutely know idea what they are doing.
“According to the court decision, pointing out the totalitarian and cruel aspects of Islam itself is now a criminal offense, considered “insulting and demeaning” to Muslims in Denmark and therefore constituting “racism.” In effect, this means that the court is conflating what might possibly constitute blasphemy with racism.”
Coming to a Western nation near you. I am pretty critical of Islam so one day this blog will be considered hate speech. There is a good chance I will be arrested and put in prison for pointing out the evil of Islam. Don’t think this will happen in the US? Soon after the San Bernardino terrorist attack the see what the US AG said:
She says they will prosecute if it “edges towards violence”. That is kind of a gray area isn’t it? If I say Islam is evil, am I edging towards violence? If I then say resist evil, does that edge towards violence? If I say we should defend ourselves from Islamic terrorist attacks, does that edge toward violence? See the attempt here is to force individuals to censor themselves so they do not speak the truth.
