Inner Ring (Countries or terror groups that border Israel)
“A senior level Israeli security official warned that the terrorist organization’s military wing has doubled its commando force, which might try to invade Israel during the next conflict. “There’s a feeling of tension in the air, like something is about to happen,” said a “Gaza envelope” resident.”
“There’s a feeling of tension in the air, like something is about to happen,” said Nir, a resident of a kibbutz in Sha’ar HaNegev Regional Council. “There’s a sense that they’re trying to start a war, it’s not clear why,” added Bar Hefez from Kibbutz Nirim. “There have been threats from here and the other side. I want the Israeli Prime Minister to act as he said he would at the end of Operation Protective Edge, when he said that he wants to bring order to the region.”
“Arab media outlets report IDF forces, including army bulldozers, operating inside Gaza Strip. IDF official warns of Hamas’ growing strength.”
“Top Israeli officer says terror group unprepared for future war, and while it is building new rockets, blockade makes materials hard to obtain.”
“Hamas now has some 5,000 fighters in its special forces and has also filled out its middle and upper ranks, with 25 battalion and brigade commanders, the official said.”
“The Southern Command is carefully monitoring Hamas’s 25 regional battalions and has prepared detailed files on each one as part of preparations for ground forces that could, in the event of a future escalation, be sent in to Gaza to land “painful strikes” on Hamas, according to the source.
“We did not have this level of knowledge in Operation Protective Edge [in 2014],” the source said. “Our brigade, battalion, and company commanders are assigned regions, and will know many things that will assist them in destroying their targets,” the high-ranking officer added.”
The fact the IDF is going out of its way to communicate to Hamas through the media and the presence of IDF bulldozers inside Gaza could mean something is up. Hamas is about to execute something, the IDF knows about it, and they are trying hard to deter Hamas.Perhaps something planned around Pesach.
“The obsession with settlements is certain to divert attention from core issues, such as Palestinian recognition of a Jewish Israel. Many Palestinians continue to regard Israel as one big settlement that needs to be removed from the Middle East.”
“We need patience,” he said at a pre-holiday toast in Tel Aviv with the Federation of Local Authorities. “We know that there are attempts, even now, to change the downward trend in the number of attacks. There are attempts, even now, to try to renew the agitation and violence, especially around Pesach and the Temple Mount, as we experienced earlier [in October] during the High Holidays.” Netanyahu said that as Pesach is approaching, extremists are “spreading lies” about the Temple Mount to cause riots.”
“Activists say police attitude toward Jews on Mount improving, expect Pesach visits to double compared to last year.”
The desire by Jews to pray at the Temple Mount grows stronger each day.
“The Israel Land Fund, a group of dedicated Jews who have been restoring Jewish properties in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria are now looking East into modern day Jordan with plans to reclaim historically Jewish properties in Jordan as well. Many Jews purchased land in what is now Jordan during the British mandate when such land was seen primarily as part of the greater land of Israel which was confiscated by Jordan’s rulers after Jordan declared independence as an Arab-Moslem country in 1946. The Jewish group now faces great difficulty in purchasing this formerly Jewish land since Jordanian law views the sell of land to Jews or Israelis as a capitol offense and punishable by death.”
“Weak quake reawakens concerns over the ‘big one’ that may strike Israel sometime soon.”
Notable because God will use earthquakes during many prophetic events that are coming.
Outer Ring (countries or terror groups that are close to but not bordering Israel)
“The recent move — the transfer of the two islands to Saudi Arabia — reveals part of the dialogue that has been developing between Israel and its Sunni neighbors. A highly placed Israeli security official, who spoke to Al-Monitor anonymously, added some details: Israel’s relationships in the region are deep and important. The moderate Arab countries have not forgotten the Ottoman period, and are very worried about the growing strength and enlargement of the two non-Arab empires of the past: Iran and Turkey. On this background, many regional players realize that Israel is not the problem, but the solution. Israel’s dialogue with the large, important Sunni countries remains mainly under the radar, but it deepens all the time and it bears fruit.”
There have been lots of rumors but very little real evidence an alliance exists. While this agreement is notable, I don’t think it means there is an alliance. There might just be an understanding.
“Addressing the 13th summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in the Turkish city of Istanbul on Thursday, Rouhani expressed deep sorrow over the negligence of the international community on the issue of Palestine and Israeli crimes.”
Muslim countries in the region see things differently.
“Q. In Revelation 7:15 the Angel tells John that the great multitude who is worshiping God and the Lamb are those who came out of the Great Tribulation (Martyrs). They are then serving God in His temple day and night. I believe you have mentioned that they have a different destiny than the Church, who will reign with Christ. But when we get to Rev 20, that same group of martyrs comes to life, and then we see them reigning with Christ also (Rev 20:4).
We know that this second group is the same as the first group, because John mentions that they didn’t take the mark or worship the beast, so they are clearly Tribulation martyrs, just like in Rev 7. Can you reconcile the differences? I was under the impression that only the Church will reign with Christ, but here we see non-Church members also reigning with Christ.
A. People on Earth are not required to take the mark of the Beast until Rev. 13:10. This is too late for the group that arrives in Heaven in Rev. 7:9-17. So while both this group and the one from Rev. 20:4 are composed of post Church believers, the Bible is not giving us two views of the same group.
The confusion on timing comes from the phrase “they who have come out of the Great Tribulation” in Rev. 7:14. The Greek word translated “out of” is ek and it means out of the time as well as the location of an event. In effect it means they will have arrived in Heaven before the Great Tribulation begins. John used the same Greek word in Rev. 3:10 where it’s translated “from”, meaning the Lord will keep the Church from both the time and location of the End Times judgments.
There’s a line of distinction between the Church, who are called kings and priests (Rev. 5:10), the multitude of Rev. 7:9-17, who serve the Lord in His Temple but are not called priests, and the martyrs of Rev. 20:4, who reign with the Lord but are not called kings (Rev. 20:4). To me this looks like a hierarchy of rulership with the Church in the superior position.”
“Q. I was reading C.S.Lewis this week and in one of his books he said that the white stone we will be given by Jesus when we reach heaven will be the only possession we will have in heaven. Private ownership evidently will not exist. God will (and does) own everything except that white stone with a new name on it which only yourself and Jesus will know. It must be a very precious thing Do you have any comments or teaching on this White Stone?
A. You’re referring to the last part of Rev. 2:17. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it , known only to him who receives it.
In Biblical times, the white stone was a sign of trust. When an important businessman had to complete a transaction in a distant city, he didn’t travel there himself. It was too dangerous. Instead he sent a trusted servant empowered to act on his behalf. The servant carried a coin-like form of identification made of baked white clay. The seal of the businessman being represented was pressed into the clay as was a secret name, known only to the other party in the transaction. By the presentation of the white stone, the servant authenticated himself as being entitled to all the rights and privileges due his master. This symbolizes the way our Lord Jesus will identify us as being entitled to all the rights and privileges due Him, when we enter into the Presence of our Father in Heaven.”
“WASHINGTON — Another bipartisan push is afoot by US lawmakers to bolster funding for Israel’s missile defense beyond what is requested by the president in the fiscal 2017 defense budget.”
