Inner Ring (Countries or terror groups that border Israel)
“Three weeks after IDF failed to bring down UAV that crossed over from Syria, Moscow officials acknowledge it was theirs.”
I believe this was an intentional incursion. Israeli defense systems that failed to intercept the UAV were American systems so the Russians may have been attempting to test how the systems worked. Both American and Israeli defense experts should be concerned.
- “[W]hoever was imprisoned for five years or more is entitled to a job in a PA [Palestinian Authority] institution. Thus, the PA gives priority in job placement to people who were involved in terrorist activity.” – Yigal Carmon, president of the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), in testimony to the US House Committee on Foreign Affairs, July 6, 2016.
- In 2016, not less than $300 million (between 7% and 10% of the budget) was allocated to prisoners, their families, and to “martyrs’ families.”
- In June, an independent report commissioned by the Britain’s Department for International Development concluded that by enabling the PA to pay salaries to terrorists, British aid to the PA had made anti-Israel terror “more likely.” DFID dismissed the report.
- Palestinian society is totally built and organized on the basis of “resistance”. It is a society where jobs, fame and money go to people who are in, or who have spent years in, Israeli jails. There, legitimacy goes to people who are considered “martyrs.”
And this is why there is no peace. It has nothing to so with ‘settlements’.
“Ambassador to the UN Danon explains why Israel visit by 11 ambassadors is so important, claiming they will not be deceived easily anymore.”
It’s a worthy effort by Danon but the hatred and anti-antisemitism is too far ingrained. Palestinian propaganda is so effective because people want to believe the lies.
“Archaeologist Dr. Gabi Barkai speaks of battles against the Waqf and Palestinian temple-denial: ‘They want to have their cake and eat it.'”
“In a new video, Temple Institute raises the question: how much longer until the Jewish Temple will be rebuilt?”
“To divert the funds, the Shin Bet said, Halabi initiated fictitious projects meant to help farmers, the disabled and fishermen. He would falsely list Hamas operatives as workers on those projects and write up inflated receipts, according to the Shin Bet. Companies hired to carry out certain projects under fictitious tenders were “made aware” that 60 percent of the project’s funds were destined for Hamas, the Shin Bet statement said, adding that some of World Vision’s budget was used to pay the salaries of Hamas operatives.
The Shin Bet also said Halabi would transfer to Hamas materials such as steel, digging equipment and pipes that were meant for World Vision agricultural assistance. Thousands of packages with food and medical aid received monthly would allegedly be diverted to Hamas operatives and their families rather than reach Gazan civilians.
Beyond arms purchases and tunnel digging, the funds also helped build military bases, including one constructed in 2015 built entirely from British aid money, according to the Shin Bet. The security agency also said that since his arrest, Halabi divulged intelligence about employees working for United Nations agencies and other aid groups who were also assisting Hamas, without elaborating.”
This is a huge scandal. World Vision seems to be having trouble explaining things. The ‘Gap’ argument is irrelevant because NO money should be given to the terrorist government Hamas.
“Donations from the United Kingdom made to the Christian aid organization World Vision were used by Hamas to build one of such 70 military bases that operate in Gaza. The allegations are part of the June 15, 2016 arrest of Mohammed El-Halabi, a senior World Vision worker facing charges of funneling $43 million in charity funds to Hamas.”
“The fact that millions of charity dollars going to Gaza were diverted to Hamas terror activities shows problems inherent in NGO operations.”
If you read the rest of the article it becomes apparent international NGOs cannot not be trusted with any donations. Until they agree oversight is needed I would think twice before giving them money. Better to give locally.
“Avi Dichter, head of Knesset Defense Committee, says misuse of charity moneys runs much wider than World Vision’s tens of millions, claims ‘almost 100%’ of UN refugee workers in Gaza are Hamas members.”
Remember when Hamas rockets were found in UN warehouses during the 2014 conflict? Now we know why and how they got there. NGOs and the UN should be ashamed of themselves.
Outer Ring (countries or terror groups that are close to but not bordering Israel)
“But the stakes of reviving the relationship may now be significantly higher, as anti-American sentiment peaks within Turkey and Erdogan draws condemnation from the West for his decidedly undemocratic crackdown on those suspected of plotting or sympathizing with the coup.
Putin, too, has much to gain from strengthening his relationship with Erdogan at such a politically sensitive moment — specifically, the opportunity to undermine the unity of both the European Union and NATO and absorb Turkey into Russia’s sphere of influence. That may be why Russia was one of the first countries to issue an official condemnation of the coup on July 15 — a gesture that Turkey noticed and evidently appreciated.”
“Rebel factions in Syria, including al-Qaeda affiliates, managed Saturday after weeks of fighting to break through government forces holding a route east of the northern town of Aleppo, but have not yet established a secure route to their comrades in the city through the government siege. In another sector, an alliance of Kurdish and Arab fighters seized parts of the key town of Manjib from the Islamic State, with the help of US arms, intelligence and logistics.”
Stupid headline. ISIS has made only modest gains in the Aleppo area and those may be short lived.
“A Syrian rebel alliance on Sunday announced the start of a battle to recapture the whole of Aleppo, the day after they broke a government siege on rebel-held areas in the country’s second city.”
Be wary of the media reports that ISIS is going to retake Aleppo. They were almost encircled by Assad forces there. They MAY have broken the encirclement but that does not mean they can capture the city. The battle is still very much going Assad’s way.
“Q. I have been reading your series on a study of Revelation. In your commentary on chapter 5, you state “God’s law requires that a next of kin redeem that which a family member has lost.” Where in scripture is this stated as God’s law? I ask because what you have presented fills many gaps for me. I just want to be able to back that up with scripture since it is the foundation of the point you present.
A. The law of redemption is detailed primarily in Leviticus 25 and covers both the loss of property and the loss of freedom. Adam suffered both these losses when he sinned and from that time forward all of his progeny were held captive to sin by the one who had stolen their kingdom, awaiting the Kinsman Redeemer.
A Kinsman Redeemer had to meet several requirements. First, he had to be qualified. That means he had to be a next of kin or close relative. Next he had to be able, in other words have the means to pay the price. And third he had to be willing. Although it would be a public disgrace to do so, he could refuse.
In Jesus God became a man in order to qualify Himself to redeem us. He lived a sinless life because the coin of redemption was the blood of a sinless man. And he was willing to give His life for us because He loves us.
The idea that God could become a man and live a sinless life shouldn’t surprise us. He is God after all. But the fact that He would choose to sacrifice that perfect life just so we could escape the punishment due us when there’s nothing we can give in return should drive us to our knees in wonder.”
God’s plan is perfect. Jesus is the perfect redeemer.
