I Hope I Am Wrong
“President-elect Donald Trump said on Thursday he will nominate bankruptcy attorney David Friedman as U.S. ambassador to Israel, and Friedman said he looked forward to taking up his post in Jerusalem, implying a move from Tel Aviv that would mark a break in longstanding U.S. foreign policy and anger the Muslim world.”
While moving the US embassy to Jerusalem looks good and is important symbolically, I am concerned. Trump has already sounded off about big spending items like the F-35 and the new Air Force One jet. The US gives Israel a considerable amount of military aide annually. These pro-Israeli moves might be prep to cushion the blow of reduced military aide to Israel under his administration. I hope I am wrong.
“Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar are supporting extremist Islamic groups in Germany, according to a leaked intelligence report.”
These three countries are a big source of the Islamic problem in the world today. They are the principle ones responsible for the suffering in Syria. Yes Assad and the US are responsible too but these countries push Islamic conquest from within all over the world and need to be stopped.
“As Hamas prepares for the next round of fighting in Israel, the IDF anticipates the terrorist organization’s utilizing its tunnels to infiltrate border communities to carry out mass casualty attacks; there has been an uptick in activity at Hamas training camps.”
The new 5.5 km Kinneret-Beit Shean pipeline will supply water to Jordan in exchange for desalinated water from Aqaba.
This is happening despite Jordan being particularly unhelpful regarding the Temple Mount. Jordan’s government could fall at any moment. They have, at least, been peaceful with Israel.
