Articles of the Day 1/22/15: Corrupting The Bible

Repent! The time of the Lord is close at hand. Open your heart to Jesus Christ. He is knocking at your door. Let him in and take up your cause before the Lord. Jesus Christ died for your sins, he was killed for them, he rose again and he will return again. Read Matthew 24:4-14 and ask yourself are these things taking place now?

Israel Borders

Sophisticated Russian S-400 missiles for Iran under new military pact, S-300s for Egypt, Syria, Hizballah

“The cash-strapped Russians have become less choosy these days about clients for their prized S-300 defensive systems and even more advanced S-400 missiles. They are now ready to sell the former – not just to Iran, but also to Egypt, Syria and the Lebanese Shiite Hizballah.”

12 Injured in Tel Aviv Stabbing Attack

“On the morning of January 21, 2015, a Palestinian terrorist injured twelve people in a stabbing attack in Tel Aviv. Security forces neutralized the terrorist and are currently searching for additional suspects.”

Palestinian leadership continue to incite attacks against Israeli civilians. Why is the West still giving these people money? Clearly peace is not high on their agenda. I call upon all Western governments to cease funding the PA and the UNRWA immediately.

Syria Daily: Claim — “Israel Strike Was to Prevent Hezbollah Missile Bases on Border”

“Israeli media, citing Lebanese sources, are claiming a motive for Sunday’s airstrike killing Hezbollah and Iranian commanders in southwest Syria: they say the attack was to prevent Hezbollah setting up missile bases near the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.”

I think it was also some message sending to Iran. That Israel is not afraid to strike Iranian personnel. It seems Israel is comfortable with if things were to escalate. One day they well.

Iran’s New Terror Base against Israel

“The new base in Syria gives Hezbollah the option of attacking Israel and drawing Israel’s return fire away from Lebanon, where its most precious assets are hidden: well over 100,000 rockets and missiles that might be saved for a future battle over Iran’s nuclear weapons program.”

Hamas Commander Deif to Hezbollah Leader Nasrallah: “Let’s fight Israel together”

“The head of Hamas’ military wing signed a letter of condolence sent to Hezbollah’s Secretary General after the eliminations in Syria.”

Syria-Iraq

The Islamic State Eyes Expansion in Damascus

“The Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) has begun to expand its presence in the Syrian central corridor which stretches from the Jordanian border through Damascus to the central cities of Homs and Hama. The “central corridor” is highly-contested key terrain for both the Syrian regime and its armed opposition, while ISIS presence has generally been limited in the area until recently. As one major exception, ISIS maintained a notable foothold in several opposition-held areas of Damascus in early 2014 before retreating due to pressure from local rebel groups. A small ISIS contingent, largely overlooked, endured quietly in the southern suburbs of Damascus throughout late 2014. Over the past two months, ISIS has once again escalated its military and public relations activities in this area, threatening to divert both regime and rebel resources away from active fronts in the Damascus area in order to contend with the ISIS threat. This development may provide an indicator of ISIS’s broader expansion plans in western Syria and the potential response of Syrian opposition fighters to this expansion.”

Prophecy

Has The Stage Been Set?

“Q. I’ve read where some other prophecy teachers say the world is now at the point where Ezekiel 38-39 wars and/or Psalm 83 wars could happen, everything in perfect alignment, but before the next steps, the Rapture. In a nutshell, do you believe the world stage is now set for these wars, or do you believe there are still other conditions that need to be met?

A. I think the stage is set for the Battle prophesied in Psalm 83, but I don’t think we’re quite ready for Ezekiel 38. In my opinion Israel has to be living in a perceived state of peace, so much so that they’ll be taken by surprise when the Muslim coalition attacks. Quoting Gog, Ezekiel wrote, “I will invade a land of unwalled villages; I will invade a peaceful and unsuspecting people – all of them living without walls and without gates and bars” (Ezekiel 38:11) I don’t believe that’s the case in Israel today, but it could be after their victory in the battle of Psalm 83.”

Meanwhile…

Presbyterian Church and Arab Palestinian group rewriting the Bible to remove references to Israel

“This new version blatantly changes God’s Word. Any mention of Israel – gone. Any mention of Jesus being a Jew – gone. The movement which has brought the world a NEW bible, is called Palestinian Liberation Theology. At its heart is hatred for the Jewish people and for Israel. Of course, keeping in line with this hatred, the leaders of this satanic movement have changed Jesus (Yeshua) from being Jewish to being a Palestinian Arab.”

“However, something new does crop up when someone like the Reverend Dr. Naim Stifan Ateek attempts to revise history. Dr. Ateek is an Arab Palestinian Anglican priest and the founder of Sabeel International Ecumenical Liberation Theology Center in Jerusalem. He has rewritten the whole story book in the same manner that Catholic, Anglican and Reformed theologies have claimed that the Christian Church is “The New Israel” also called “The Israel of God.” Rewriting history and inventing theology is a popular vocation. Revisionist historians take liberties with facts until they cease to have meaning. Prime examples are the Holocaust denial polemics or current trends to rewrite American history texts.”

“Ateek has an axe to grind; he needs to advance his Palestinian agenda by displacing Israel. In an effort to push his version of Christian dogma, he rewrites the Bible and fabricates a formidable sounding contemporary social justice ideology.”

I have said it before on this blog. Beware of churches that take a pro-Palestinian tone. They likely believe this non-sense and well lead you astray. The current Pope seems to be an advocate for ‘social justice’ so I can see many churches both Catholic or non-Catholic falling for this made up theology. Kudos to Geri Ungurean at Nowtheendbegins.com for making people aware of this.

Spiritual Israel?

“Q. My sister is a Jehovah’s Witness to whom I have witnessed to for over thirty years to no avail. I’m aware that Jehovah’s Witnesses believe they have replaced Israel as God’s people/witnesses. My sister recently used the term ‘spiritual Israel’ in regard to herself and other Jehovah’s Witnesses and my response was that I did not believe in a spiritual Israel. I do not subscribe to Replacement Theology in any form, believing that God will keep every promise He has made including those made to the nation of Israel and the Jews as a people. My questions are 1) who specifically are Abraham’s children by circumcision of the heart, and what and who could be spiritual Israel if there is such a people?

A. In Galatians 3:26-29 Paul said if we are in Christ then we are Abraham’s children, whether Jewish or Gentile. Since Jehovah’s Witnesses are not “in Christ” in the Biblical sense they are not Abraham’s children. (They believe Jesus is really the archangel Michael, don’t accept His deity, don’t believe in salvation by grace alone but require works as evidence of their faith, and deny eternal security. According to Galatians 1:8 they are preaching a different Gospel.)

Neither can they be the 144,000 witnesses of Rev. 7 because they are not exclusively from the 12 tribes of Israel named there.

I couldn’t find the phrase “spiritual Israel” in the major translations I researched. The closest verse I found is Galatians 6:16 where Paul’s use of the phrase ”Israel of God” is thought by some to refer to the Church. But the context indicates He was saying that a person doesn’t have to be circumcised to be part of the Israel of God, because as he said in Romans 2:28-29,

“A person is not a Jew who is one only outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a person’s praise is not from other people, but from God.”

Remember, Paul’s letter to the Galatians was a rebuttal to the “Judaizers” who taught that a Gentile had to come under the Law of Moses and be circumcised in order to be accepted into the Church.”
